As an attorney, I advocate for black people to start writing wills. We as a community are notorious for falling to pieces when there is some land or money left when the matriarch or patriarch dies. My grandparents did not leave a will and there has been a constant back and forth over what they left when they passed.
Hey girl I was thinking the same thing, working in finance I have seen it all. Without a will in place it’s going to be a mess.

I was glad Nicole and Lakeshia talked but it gave quick fix for now. They need to go much deeper with a therapist. And I see they’re still leaving Lakeshia out. I don’t know if she’s not in the real estate business but she was definitely missing in that family diagram when Aunt Nikki was talking about being a G1 and a G2. If she’s family, treat her as such at all times and not just when it’s convenient. Also, Nicole might not want to be so shady about Jaquita’s marriage and focus on her own. The tone of that comment was very telling.
You are so correct about the therapy!!! Now the tricky part with the money and her being included😬. The bio family is having issues already, adding her into that dynamic is a separate issue imo. I know frm personal experience, when the fam is fractured, money/things when ppl die gets real messy quick. I removed myself frm the equation on purpose. We have enuf disfct😅. The living work on luving each other as best we can, when we can, bc that’s more important than stuff. Therapy has been amazing ❤
The show definitely gives a sweetie pie's vibe. It's reality tv we needed.
I agree! I'm loving it. People say it's boring but how many love shows and fights can we take? This is a refreshing change.
You are right. It does give a Welcome to Sweetie Pies feel. I just hope they can keep it with the business and not get messy and tear this family down. So far I like it.
Side note: Please keep telling us about the Houston spots especially the hole in the walls.

Measha I love this show. It reminds me so much of my family. I’m so glad you’re reviewing it. I hope Ole Carlos don’t put his stank spin on it and try and make it messy and pull this family apart. You know how he loves the mess. Beautiful black family and they just seem so real
I love everything about it
So... I'm in the middle with this land. Granny has a right to want to pay off her children's mortgages or whatever else before she goes to glory. Developing that land is a great idea and will be a fantastic investment. Thing is, investments take time and folks will want to know when they can cash out on it. So if I were Granny, I would sell it to my grandkids and do what I intended initially and Jermeshia can talk about development with her sister cousins that she's in business with.
I like that idea.
Exactly my thoughts. The G1s cant’t complain the money from the sale will got to them and the land will belong to the G2s to continue the legacy as they see put.
Jaquita is my favorite so far!

The way I lit up during the preview for the season. I spotted a friend's vodka company signage (G03 Vodka) and my favorite cigar lounge on that nawf side!!!!
I was sad to see Nicole & Keisha give their dad a pass. Now even though, I get they prob don’t want to ream him on tv, his destructive impact is seen with both of them (and others I’m sure). Some good family therapy wud be wonderful…and wud be necessary for them to get pst the niceties. It will help them get down to their true issues in a hlthy space and help them to move past all the walls truly.
Now I'm invested in this show. Im happy OWN has a new show that's worth a darn. Trying to be PG here.
Baby Nicole looks like she checked out of that marriage. I pray they can make it work though

Kiesha and Nicole having a chat is a good start but it’s not the ending. They need to dig deeper. They’re living proof that you can have a dad in the house, or out, and still feel neglected by the parent.
See, these men REALLY don’t have the mental capacity to handle the emotions that come with having multiple women and children. They really think a magic wand will appear and “fix” the things their asses broke! It’s a heavy burden the children have to bare!

I’m liking the show so far. The production of it def gives sweetie pies!! 😂 I pray that they can keep it light hearted but we know a CK production gotta have drama. My family is similar to yours 15 total from my great grandparents and the land was/ is def still an issue. My grandmother had 7 kids and even that part was an issue regarding the land.
I'm with you Measha on the golf cart/dog park community in that area. That will be interesting to say the least. They really do need a contract with the photographer husband. Then, all this 'miscommunication' can be eliminated.

And the comment about her growing up better than Lakeisha seemed more like a jab than her showing compassion. And isn't there another sister? What is the relationship between she and Lakeisha because it seems like we're just focused on Nicole with her "trouble marriage" and she ain't fooling me!
Okayyy there is some trouble in paradise the way he answered that question. I do think she felt bad about the upbringing but neither of them showed any kind of emotions forreal. I was like why yall ain't hugging???

Yes, I caught both those as well. I didn't get why she was bent about a wall, seems she took it personal & the jab wasn't necessary. Girlfriend let her know I may not have had material things, but she had a lot of love. i don't like Nicole, she thinks more of herself than she should.
It really wasn't that serious and I was thinking she came into the family as an adult (like many others in that type of situation). I don't feel like they are willing to say what it's really about..not on camera anyway.

I’m sorry, but I feel like the G2’s are the ones trying to continue the Braden legacy. What have the G1’s done? I PERSONALLY don’t see the same success in the G1’s that I see in the G2’s, but that’s MY OPINION.

I do think it's a little bit of favoritism in the family it seems weird that Lakisha wasn't added in the family photo I really would like a back story that she have a different career or didn't want to be a part of the business just saying all the women take a family photo of being hands on in the business and she off to the side not in the photo
That’s what I think is missing. I don’t recall them adding a title to say what she does. Doesn’t seem like she’s an agent or anything. I wondered why she was just assisting at the photoshoot.
I could be wrong but I believe the family business is from the mother’s side of the family not their father. It wouldn’t make sense to include her if that is the case.

Hopefully this info can help someone! If you live in Texas and you want to pass down your house or land to a beneficiary without them having to go through probate court you can get a TODD transfer on death deed. You can do it for cars and other assets too! It's a cheaper option than a trust.

Is it me or when they were asking her if she was planning on getting married…she was trying to side step the conversation. Like she didn’t want to really tell them. That was the perfect opportunity to bond.
Even though they broke some ground with their chat, talking about her relationship is still very much personal, especially seeing the previews of how they appear to feel toward her girlfriend.

I got a solution for everyone. G2 buy the land from Grandma and Grandma can still buy off the kids' mortgage. I think the G2 does not want to pay near the worth of the land. That's the problem bc they going by what Grandad said .

It sounds like the G1s have modest jobs and it will take them longer to pay off mortgages and they need the help. The G2S appear to make more money but the more they talk idk. I have yet to hear a plan to sell a certain amount of homes by this time to buy the land and to build a community or shopping center on the land. They don't really seem focused and serious about progression they just talking
