    You have room for a compost pile. Dump everything on a compost pile. Use your tractor & bucket to mix the pile a couple times a year. Everything even Walnut can be used if composted. You could even sell compost.

    I'm all for making stuff myself to save money, but I don't forget the fact that I have invested thousands in tools in order to save that money. Not sure how long the payback period is, but the real reason I make stuff is because I like to do it, not to save money.

    • @madh16
      @madh16 2 года назад +7

      That's a really good way to put it. It's hard to buy tools with the intention of saving money and then actually save money. I suppose it really just comes down to liking to do things myself over purchasing a finished product.

    • @beanieweenie9543
      @beanieweenie9543 2 года назад +4

      I don’t think he was implying you should go out and spend thousands on a tool to save money. The title is “how I saved thousands” not “what you should do to save thousands”. I’m pretty sure common sense should explain he saved thousands because he has the tools needed to do the job himself as opposed to going out and buying it.

    • @madh16
      @madh16 2 года назад +4

      @@beanieweenie9543 I understand this, but our comments were merely just two people chatting about a balance of savings vs pleasure. What works for him may not necessarily apply to us and vice versa.

    • @mrwaterschoot5617
      @mrwaterschoot5617 2 года назад

      @@madh16 it is like making a job being fun or being work. it is a frame of mind or that grey/gray matter between our ears. it is an attitude. just like it is with looking at a glass that it half full of water. one way to look at it as half empty or half full they are the same amount of water and it is how you look at it. just like the expression six to one person is a half a dozen to another same count different measure. and if you love what you do you never work day in your life or if you work doing what you love it does not feel like a job.
      if you have to justify the cost of tools you own for fun you might not be able to justify owning the tool. nathans sawmill lt70 wide cut and allied equipment is north of 75 thousand dollars.($75,000) but nathan chose to go that route. it is not the price of the tool but what you can do with it. but being able to go in your shop and do what you want when you want to i call priceless. how to afford buying the tool is a discussion with the finance officer. nathan is the boy with the toys. nathan had to get it past whoever handles the purse strings. the only difference between the.men and the boys is the price of their toys.
      and the man with the most toys wins but will die someday and leaves all his toys on earth when god calls you from earth.

    Is adding an extension in the future a possibility?
    How about an exterior drone shot so we can see the actual footprint?

I would like to build a 16x16cabin and I'll be sure to build it at least 2ft above the ground.If you'd like to I could really use the lumber and all the poplar is very strait and I would water proof it well and let it air dry before building.
