Just posted my updated wet look and y'all I finally figured it out! Here's the link if you want to see how I did it! Successful wet look on type 4 hair: ruclips.net/video/dES3tj1vn7I/видео.html
My version of the wet look on my 3c/4a hair is doing my wash n go and wearing it wet and not drying it and going to wherever i'm going. When its dry the wet look over lmao
😂 exactly
😂😂😂😂
I laughed a lil too hard lol
Girl 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
i feel like your hair can definitely achieve. your hair would have to be soaking wet and use lotssss of gel. if i want that look, i’d style in the shower. but your fro gives me life. the shape of it really suits your features!
If she also ties down the top while under the dryer like how men wear durags it won't be as high at the top
Agree, I feel like her products were way too light weight. I have type 4 hair and for me to get this look I gotta go heavy heavy. I mean leave in, butters, gels, and avocado oil.
Yes. Thats exactly what I was thinking too. I mean she has type 4 hair, but she used mousse for the hair. In my personal opinion, mousse is definitely not gonna weigh the hair down. But you can use it for extra sheen or so.
I tried the wet look once... my 4c hair laughed at me 😂😂
L.R. Red :and it probably told you ok sis you tried it but naw 😂🤣💀
😂😂
😩😂
🤣🤣🤣
Lol 😂 😂
Literally been looking everywhere for this. My hair won't even slick down for a dang low bun let alone the "wet" look
Same here, sis
It may not be a "wet look" but it's still super cute.
Fran you tried!!! Tho results are bomb tho! 😍
Thanks boo! I might try it again with a different technique because I feel like my hair can do it lol
Ha...I just commented about a product combo you did that you said gave you that wet jheri curl look!! Lol
@@NaturalReign "Do it, do it 'til you're satisfied"🎶🎵🎼🎤📻ruclips.net/video/yvIQX_eDmN0/видео.html
my hair stay on dat “ dry look “ smh. 😭💀
Even without products you have perfect poppin curls. To make it the wet look you might have to stretch you hair alot and make sure you don't have volume at the top of your hair
NLT4Ever #1 you are absolutely correct. I just done this style last week. I have 3c hair in the front and 4a/4b in the middle and back. I used a lot of gel (Eco olive), a lot of water, and in the end, I diffuse the top so it won’t get puffy! ✅
@@ieshajanay girl we got the same curl pattern bruh. Well mine is spiral O shaped curls most ppl curls I've seen have they S shape
I feel like u need to use wetline or eco and slic everything back more cus i think the gel wasnt heavy enough 🤷🏾♂️
You might be right! I might try it again 🤔
Orian Jamieson yeah that foam wasn’t it
And probably tie it down
I love your hair ur curls look amazing
i actually love this look on you!, and i have type 4a curls and i do the wet look, you need a oily twisting cream and alot of wetline gel!
I think I might give it another try!
You look more like a type 3
Your hair isn’t really kinky at all

Liv Livington awh thanks! I appreciate it!!😁
It looks like a frizz-free wash and go. Beautiful!!
I think it still looks really cute
omg skinny thank you!! 💗💗
Unfortunately, the wet look for type 4 hair is called a “Jheri Curl”. I been there. Never done that! 😂
I'm sooooo weak at this comment...😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Girl in crying
LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think it was a win. Your hair looks how wooly hair looks when it’s wet. This is the wet look for your hair texture.
I tried the "wet look" on my hair. It's the same texture as yours and I got the same results. My hair was a bit stiff though 😂 Type 4 hair is too stubborn to be tamed. I've never used a product strong enough to weigh my hair down.
Dianne R omg same my hair be looking like girl what is you doing even my edges don't hold gel to good it's hard but it can happen with the right stuff
Great video. You can achieve that look however, both the light leave in and foam which is watered down styler would not help you get there. You need super heavy products, because of the more kink or tightness to the curl. Add enough product so that the hair is heavy and slimy. Then dry with a blow dryer without lifting the hair to create volume. All the best!
Look honey your inspiration speech at the beginning was great. I love your reaction and your results looked amazing. We all know that natural hair does what it want, so you killed it!!! You looked gorgeous
Can't wait to watch this after work! Would love some tips on detangling and how you avoid split ends and single strand knots. Do you have this problem?
I have a video on how to avoid single strand knots on my channel!
Try the shea moisture gel souffle..it makes my 4a/4b hair shiny like wet..i have been questioned if my hair was wet..
I think that the Edge Booster Gel would be perfect for this!!! It definitely weighs the hair down!
Love, love, love your hair!!! Curl pattern, texture, and all! I have a lot of type 4 hair in the back of my hair and on the sides and I think it's severely underrated!
I know this is not the Wet look and it's also not the look you were going for! Otherwise, these results are amazing! Curls are well defined and even though l know you love big hair, this controlled, tamed look fits you as well! I must say this is my type of Wash n Go!
It would look better with a side part.
@@sunnyedaize1262 l guess so! But any way she choose to style it , it looks good same way!
I think it looks amazing. I recently started using my fingers and my Denman brush RIGHT when I got out the shower and my hair is so defined. I used to let it air dry without doing anything. This wet look honestly saves time if you’re planning to do hairstyles for the rest of the week.
That texture ID foam is really good at making your curls pop, at least mine do along with using the mercier brush. I imagine you'd have to use a lot of gel on top of that to do the wet look, more than I'd be comfortable putting in my hair.
I get the wet look when I use kinky curly knot today and the curling custard together...do your hair in the shower
Nesha T. I will have to try this! I used Eco - Olive and got good results too.
Same. I have to detangling using a denman brush and style on soaking dripping wet hair making sure each strand is thoroughly coated in kinky curly knot today and curling custard
Definitely Not a fail at all! Loving the results girl! Clicked on this video so fast like ohhhhh she has found the secret to getting the wet look for us on the lower end of the spectrum. Us type 4s have got to stick together lol. Appreciate the effort you put in to trying. Much love and peace from Florida.
Your curls are so defined that it looks like a perfect twist- out. Both before and after.
I’m living for that spray bottle 😍🙌🏾🥰 I want one💯
Bruhh i’ve been looking everywhere to see a type 4 hair try this look! I’m so glad one of my favs dropped a vid on this!
I tried this with Eco styler some years back. I started with small sections and piled on the gel, like way too much! By the time i was done with my whole head it felt heavy, lol! Got under the dryer, when it was dry...my hair had the wet look but it felt like a helmet. I will never do it again, and the flakes afterwards was terrible. Your hair is so beautiful, forget the wet look.
Even tho it’s not the “wet look” Jae it looks hella good to me!!! 🙌🏾
I do think you can achieve the “wet look” tho, but I feel like you’d have to air dry instead of doing it under a dryer...because the dryer is automatically gonna make it shrink up.
Kinky Curly Knot Today with their Curling Custard are good products to try this method with!
type 4 here! i got the "wet look" by accident once when i did a wash and go. here's what i did. use a shit ton of leave-in (giovanni direct leave-in), kinky curly curling custuard shingled on top of that, and put some more eco styler gel on top for a harder hold. let my hair air dry as usual BUT wrap a scarf around your head and let the ends hang free. I did not like how it looked bc there was no volume but if that's what you want try it out. the method is kinda like how guys get waves with their du rag. keep in mind the longer your hair is the more hang you'll get so you'll acheive the wet look a bit easier.
The natural hair community is genuinely amazing❤
Finally someone with type 4a hair attempting this style🥳cuz I’ve been waiting😫
I don't think the wet look is possible for type 4. Naturally our hair is drier, so puff and fizz is just how our hair wants to be. But if you're going to try this again, I suggest using Bentonite Clay mask before to clarify your hair and give you maximum curl definition.
It's possible if you use a super heavy gel. Hair gelee is way too light to weigh the hair down and cause the wet look.
Maybe your hair. Dont try to speak for the rest of us.
@@SummerHartbete The woman in the video is type 4A. Which is basically like 3C. People swear us 3C/4A people are like 4B or even 4C. 4A is honestly a group of it's own. So when somebody says type 4 can't do shit. Make sure they are talking about their own head and be specific. Type 4 what? Cause 4A can do pretty much anything a 3C can do. We dont have these struggle problems.
Ms Naturally Mary has a video on how to get the wet look on 4b 4c hair
Im sure I can get the "wet look" on my 4a hair because its fine. I dont have naturally thick hair, so it wouldn't take much especially using a heavy gel
I tried the wet look and by the end of the day my hair was a fro
I use a braid out to achieve “the wet look”. Basically on stretched hair I gel the front of my hair straight back (I’m talking edges to about 4-5 inches back is LAIDDD with gel and edge control)then i immediately tie a scarf down on that gelled part. Then i just do single small/medium braids through the rest of my hair. Sit under my dryer for about an hour and I’m all set. I have 4a hair. Not really a wet look but as long as my braid out is shiny to match the gel, it’s good enough for me lol Hope this helps!
curls are popping!!!!
Thank you I've been looking for a video like this for ages. No one with type 4 hair has really tried it yet until you.
I’ve been looking for a video like this foreverrrr in type 4 hair
Your hairstyle turned out bomb
Your big hair is gorgeous too but I love the “tame” look on you! I get to see your beautiful face ❤️
Turned out GORGEOUS!! Definitely gonna try this method!
This is soooo cute. I love the results even if it’s not the wet look
This would be a cute ass puff or low pony tail
I love that you re so genuine. Definitely worth subscribing to your chanel. And your hair looks totally define and pretty
Definitely need the hard core gel. Back in high school when it wasn't socially acceptable to have big hair, i used leave- in and a shit load of wetline xtreme gel. It freezes your hair in time lol
Try it again using a heavier conditioner. Let it dry completely then rewet your hair and add the mousse and gel. I used to wear the wet look waaaaay back in the day of course I used the green grease and gel. I'm mostly 4a 4b with some rude 3a 3b on top
It just looks like a super defined wash n go
You’re right; it doesn’t look wet but them curls is in order hunniiee! Loved the video per usual
My texture is a little curlier than yours and I can get a wet look. I've gone to a stylist who gave my curls a wet look for two weeks! It just wasn't flat but my curls looked super wet. And I can get a semi wet look too on my own. Similar to how yours came out. I use a scarf flatten my hair while i dry it. I use super strong gels for my hair. So it's a firm hold. I use kinky curly, Garnier come clean, or earthtones naturals gel. They all give me good results for this look. she gives all her clients a wet look when she styles it. And I don't use shampoos and conditioners with oil. I get maximum curl definition this way. Love the way your hair turned out!
Yaaaaaaassssss !!!!! Thank you !!!!!!!! These other ones were working my neeerrrrrvvvveeeesssss with NOT showing the aftermath (completely dry, hours later) not right after you’ve put the products in. EVERYBODY’s HAIR LOOKS LIKE THAT RIGHT AFTER ! 💁🏾♀️ duh 🙄
I think it came out nice. If you want it to be weighed down more, you should tie it down with a scarf and wrap a scarf around the length of your hair as well. Keep the scarfs on for a couple of hours too.
I think you should definitely try it again w/o using the dryer. When I think of the wet look...I think of a wash & go without drying. At least that's what I do.
Hey,I’m Type 4 & I’ve Accomplished The Wet Look! I Recommend Using A Good Leave In And A CUSTARD, Specifically From The Mielle Pomegranate And Honey Line!!
Section It, Make Sure To Apply GENEROUSLY, Especially On The Roots, And Do It In The Shower Or Just Make Sure Your Hair Is Drenched!
And Lastly Let It Air Dry!!
Sis, your hair is still bomb af! 😍
ReignGang!!💜🙋🏾♀️ I wanna attempt this look.😊 You always come through with the Dope information!
This is beautiful. This is how i do my "wet look," but it kinda tangles my hair too much when i wash it after.
I deal with a lot of frizz, so after watching this I'm thinking adding some foam to my curls may help.
I like the blonde color on you better! It brings your complexion out. And try to tint your eyebrows like a brown color, I think that will be so pretty on you.
I really like the way your hair turned out. I might try this method for a wash n go
it still looks good guurl
I think your hair looks pretty good! My sister recommended your channel and im here lol I love the videos with your room mates
Hey you can try the Jane Carter Curls Togo leave in, Eden’s Bodywork Curl defining cream, and the Uncle Funky’s Daughter Gel.
Came out really good. I would definitely wear this look.
Hair goals girl.
It just looks like a wash n go and I’m not mad at it. It’s still cute!
I think you could get the look with a heavier gel, like the flavored style factor ones lol (not the style factor gel in the tube). Then if you make sure your hair is damp but not super wet, it should hold it in place better because the gel isnt being watered down by all the water in your hair. Honestly, if most of your hair's wetness is coming from your moisturizer and gel, you'll probably be able to achieve the wet look most effectively because the products will be more potent. (Now... your hair might feel more dry than you'd like once it dries, but if you're just going for the look, I think this will work)
Awe at least you tried it, but I don't know if this would work on my hair either. I do like the tame look from this it's still a really cute look on you 😁
You should probably try and curly custard and a gel together that always give me a wet look and shine. I loved your results your hair looked great as always☺️
Your hair is gorgeous like wtf
I only do the "wet look" I do the Dickey method, I do my hair in the shower and shake. I don't think it's a curl type issue though, but more of thickness issue. I have lower density than you do it works on my type 4 hair. Shingling does not work on my hair at all.
your hair looks soo bomb. i wanna try this out now
As soon as you broke out that gel (which you said was like flaxseed gel) and that foam -- both of which are lightweight compared to butter, oil, grease, or wax -- I knew you weren't going to get your hair to look the same dry as it did wet. I actually just did this last week with that same foam and the styling cream and it was a TOTAL fail (as in, I didn't even try wearing it out, lol). At least you ended up with a decent result BUT to weigh type 4 hair down you need seriously HEAVY products and usually it's the ones that they say are "bad" for your hair and/or will leave it feeling not so good. Perhaps try some Blue Magic and Eco Styler next time?
Your hair is so beautiful
Please try this again with a heavier gel? I like the Curlessence Moisturizing Jelly for my wash n go's, but it is not as heavy as my Wetline Xtreme Gel. You hair looks like a win to me because it lays flat, has shine and great curl definition and no volume. Thank you for sharing.😎
Your hair came out good.😍
Thanks for giving the foam a second chance ❤️
Sis!!!! The lord had us on one accord because how about I was in the mood for the wet look last week and looked at a few tuts and yeah it was a FAUX fail like yours meaning not successful but not totally a fail neither😁 I have very fine medium length 4a curls n coils. I slather Wetline on my soak n wet hair but it still didn't give me the look I was going for. I thought maybe my hair was too short so I may try it with some long kinky curly clips ins and see what happens. Great vid.
I think it looks really good. I am preferential to big hair, but I like your hair either way!
I love your big frizzy fro. My hair is similar to yours and I want to be more comfortable wearing my fro. I always wear my hair in twists. Please do more frizzy big fro tutorials.
I think that your hair is cute!! But I agree with you boo its gonna be a challenge to get type 4 kinky coily hair to look wet when try. The amount of keratin and disulfide bonds our hair has makes it so kinky. We have so many strands that are so tightly compact it's hard for the natural UV Ray's and light to reflect off of our hair naturally (without much assistance from products) making it appear shiney and glossy. Unlike looser textures their hair follicles are larger and they have less disulfide bonds that make their hair a little more accepting and porous to the light and UV Rays.
I think you should try again with some other products you really like! Especially those you love for shine! Anything that will have your hair the shineiest I think will give you the results you desire! I hope this helps boo! Either way I know you still rocked that wash and go wet look or not your a queen!!!🌟🌟🌟😎😎😎😍😍😍👸🏾👸🏾👸🏾👸🏾👑👑👑🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Blessings for Finals Week!
Oh yes I needed this, it looks really really nice! Thank you!
I always wanted to figure it out too for my summer wash'n'go's. This does not look like the wet look but it's poppin' though-not a fail.
Your hair is so pretty !
I think you pulled it off👏🏾👏🏾. And also did you get a new nose piercing? Because I like it 🖤.
Yas was waiting a video of the the wet look on actually type 4 hair
Those results were super cute girl!👌🏾😁
I’m in the 4 section too and using a bristled brush to brush the hair down helps to take some the volume at the roots and gives a more wet look but your right once it dries it isn’t really a wet look anymore 😂
I love 💗 how ur hair came out
Jayln you are so creative and I love that about you❤️
Victoria Audu thank you for supporting my creative ideas! Y’all really are the best 🤗🤗
Cute look! I think maybe if u used the oil first and oiled tf outta ur hair, and then add some eco styler with it, using a Denman brush would make you achieve the look better. However, your hair still looked freakin amazing x
your hair is bomb regardless 😍 love it!!!
All you need is your preferred gel some hair cream and Make sure you use a heavy moose Do Not Use A Curling Foam! its not the same a moose doesnt have the same hold hope this helps i have 4B/4A hair does the trick
Oh and tie it down with a scarf and band the ends to keep it from poofing up
That look still suits you 😍
You may need to try it on DRY HAIR! It may not sound right but I think it would work with just gel on dry hair
Buy unleash curls twisting gel and eco styler I have a mix of 3c and 4a/4b hair and it leaves me my thick hair looking wet when it’s completely dry
Perhaps try this technique (products used except water) on blown dried hair or after an old flat iron style. Maybe with the products your hair will start to revert but not revert fully thus creating the "wet look." Just a theory. The end result still come out cute :)
