I have the same model .The model when finished looks exactly like it was at the start but with spare parts ,tools & paint it can be changed to look like a new car .

Rust and patina for sure and maybe a bent wheel or two and a flattened cab. But these cars look more like real car collision damage, the dirt is too random and the separations never damage non reparable components. It's not a bad thing, it's clever and makes good content. I'm sure the first were natural restorations.
I do love watching these model restoration channel videos. However, I'm old enough to remember watching 'The Dukes of Hazzard' in first run episodes. And now, seeing the 'General Lee' getting restored, I have the car horn tune 'Dixie' stuck in my head.🤣
It completely removes all of the charm when someone "restores" a model that obviously has not aged naturally and has been artificially aged and purposely destroyed.

I have one of these and I bought just before the world went crazy woke. However, it does have a covering over the confederate flag, but it’s just an orange cardboard piece that you can remove. Very expensive car and highly collectible.

I agree, it looked faked to me. No way the clear plastic parts could look that good when the rest of the toy was that beat up. Also the chrome "restoration" could not look that good with an airbrushed paint, when made they would have used a vacuum deposition process to metal plate the plastic to look like chrome and clearly the finished restoration also had parts that were factory processed the same way. The only hobbyist finish that can look remotely like that would something you apply and buff (not airbrush) but even those finishes look more like dull aluminum than chrome.

An excellent restoration! Wonderful how you treated all parts separately. The paint job is also excellent. Deliberately destroyed? Possibly, but what do you think happens when a playing child is angry, and does it throw it off by force? What I see here looks a lot like that.

What brand is this model? I want one. Also, you do better paint jobs than i do. The smoothest paint job i ever did was flat black on a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda model.
It lookednbetter as a wreck. You should do a diorama with several of them wrecked different ways sitting on an overgrown lot with Hollywood Scrapyard signage.
It's awesome the only thing I would have changed or done different would be the stickers of the numbers, General Lee and the Confederate flag I would have painted them on or at least sprayed a clear coat over the stickers to make the less noticable and would have made them blend in a little better but that's just my opinion witch at it was but other than my opinion the restoration build turned out to be perfect good job keep the restoration videos coming

Yeah but it was still good to watch
It's awesome the only thing I would have changed or done different would be the stickers of the numbers, General Lee and the Confederate flag I would have painted them on or at least sprayed a clear coat over the stickers to make the less noticable and would have made them blend in a little better but that's just my opinion witch at it was but other than my opinion the restoration build turned out to be perfect good job keep the restoration videos coming
