This guy gives the most thorough and in depth reviews out there. I’m glad I found this channel!! I can’t wait for future product reviews. Colognes next? Maybe??
My pleasure!! I agree the Saber isn’t what everyone says it is. Here’s the deal with the JRL 2020T. The only negative thing about it is it isn’t a 10/10 hitter. I zero gapped it (Not 100%, but 98-99%) one time ever. It sets lines pretty well but it’s not on the same level as the original GoldFX for example. Aside from that: - It debulks better than any trimmer on the market - It’s the only one that doesn’t snag or pull hair on my throat when I scoop. - It’s the quietest out of all of them. - Zero gapping is it is the easiest I’ve ever seen. - The stand you can buy for it is only $18, and it’s awesome. - The BaByliss professional trimmer guards fit it perfectly which is great for short beards and body hair. - Every time I show it to a friend or family member next to something else, they pick the JRL.
Thanks for the quick response man and honest reviews. I always wonder if I’ve been cursed to get defected trimmers lol. As you mentioned, there a lot of overhype regarding trimmers/clippers on RUclips. Next, am gonna sell my original gold fx and silver trimmers) to get the snap fx trimmers.
@@vernond.r.richards2753Anytime man! I will say this: - SNAPFX ($199) you can find for $150ish in the description of this video. - TPOB X ($104) you can find for $95ish in there too. The SNAPFX does come with a stand while the X doesn’t. But… I personally reach for the X more. They cut the exact same, but I like the feel of the X more. It’s also a lot less expensive which is a win-win. Nevertheless, you can’t go wrong with either of them. The X is way better than the Saber, Flex, Rebel, GoldFX, Boost+, etc. It’s on par with the SNAPFX and the JRL. To me, just flip a coin between the two.
Fantastic review! Subbed going to work my way through your reviews . What trimmer would you say would be best value and performance to do my own beard line up? Im between TPOB (new XO) , babylis fx and Style craft saber but not sure what to go with 😂
Thank you for the kind words. I would suggest you go thru the videos, but in the meantime, I’ll give you this: TPOB XO: Yes BaByliss FX: Nope Stylecraft Saber: No way! My favorites currently are the: 1. BaByliss FXOne LoPROFX 2. BaByliss LithiumFX (Black/Blue Limited) 3. JRL 2020T 4. Original LoPROFX Stylecraft products are trash! Don’t believe the hype. They are middle/bottom of the line across the board in reality. The BaByliss FX series (The ones with the barbell grip) are no good in my opinion. I have owned all four: 1. Original FX skeleton 2. FX+ with the N1 motor and USB-C 3. BoostFX 4. SnapFX The SnapFX is great, but not in my top 4. The others are average at best. The TPOB X is better than the newer XO. Have fun and thanks for the sub!
Great Reviews, Luv Ur Honesty ! Hv u tested d Brio Beardscape w/ 'Zero' blade? Looking for a Smooth yet Quiet personal trimmer to keep beard as close as possible w/out using a Foil or Rotary shaver which tend to irritate when used daily. Or what wd be a better choice? Much Thx !
Exactly what i was looking for damn man. What are the chances someone bought and campared all the trimmers i wanted to compare. Unbiased reviews about what matters within a product. Subscribed! Well done guy!
I bought a gamm cyborg clipper because I only got it for 50 dollars brand new in a package. wow what a machine. it is silent. it does not vibrate. and after 45 min of use, the blade does not get hot. my wahl gold edition boils in the blade after 5 min. the blade on gamma cyborg is super quality. the only negative is that the weight is 430 grams, which is very heavy. Do you know why it weighs so much?
The obvious reason that it’s moderately heavy is because it’s an all metal machine. It’s a very quality clipper. I don’t think I’d call it “heavy,” I would say “substantial feeling” is more reasonable.
@@goransvensson5547I know you were talking about the clipper, not the trimmer. Same response I mentioned above… It’s a high quality, all metal clipper. Of course it weighs more than many of the other cheaper plastic clippers out there. With that additional weight, you get many added benefits like you mentioned in your original comment.
Subscribed! It’s so refreshing to find your channel and to see an honest, unbiased review of barber products. Most of the influencers on YT are being paid to give good reviews on the premier companies in the industry. So we’re all being misled on the actual quality of products. Thank you for taking the time to give in depth reviews for the people. No BS just pure honesty and unbiased reviews. Can’t ask for more. I would love to see a review on the new TPOB XO clipper and trimmer and see how they rank up against all others. I’d also love to see reviews on the JRL Onyx clipper and trimmer and the new Babyliss Lo Pro One clipper and trimmer. Can’t wait to get your take on those products. P.S. May I suggest using a digital device to measure the decibels on all products as well as a scale to measure the weight of all products. It would also be nice to see a point system that breaks down your rating of each aspect of the products. Thanks again for all you’re doing to shed light on these products. The least we can do is like, share and subscribe!
Thank you. I want you to watch the next video after this one, which is the LoPROFX clipper vs. the JRL 2020C. I address most of the stuff you asked for. Thank you for the kind words btw. I appreciate the feedback.
@@clintmallon just checked it out. I saw the scale to weigh the clippers! I heard your take on the Onyx and the FX One Lo Pros. I guess I’d enjoy a more in depth review. I understand that you’re coming out of pocket and aren’t receiving any products from the companies, so I know that it’s not cheap buying all these clippers and trimmers. Thanks again Clint! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Are these ones that are easy to use for personal use or are these type more for professional barbers? Like if they don’t have guards how can a regular person use them to keep their beard length even when trimming?
What's the weight like on the cyborg? All reviews say they're on the heavy side Edit - I haven't tried every trimmer but my OG Babyliss FX gold trimmer is still sharp. Im thinking about getting the new N1 motor, not the removable battery but the new version with USB C charging and longer run time. They have it online for $130 at Joe's beauty shop
The weight of the Cyborg is very similar to your original Gold FX. It’s not heavy, but it feels substantial. I just checked out the N1 (Model number FX787NG) and I’d put that right in line with the Cyborg. The N1 at $130 is my pick for sure because the Cyborg isn’t worth $70 more. Also, I like BaByliss products across the board more than Gamma, so there’s another reason to go for the N1. Thanks for watching!
@@wavycrockett4261Supreme Trimmer Vader. Best for $100 or less… Find the JRL 2020T in my description and use one of those coupon codes to get it for $85ish.
Thanks for the great videos !! Have you heard or tried Brio or Moser clippers/trimmers ? A lot are talking well about the Brio V2 and Moser machines seem to be made with excellent quality.
First and foremost amazing review!!! simply the most detailed review on these two products on RUclips , subscribed just on the effort it must have taken to produce. I’m looking at buying one of these units, I’m not a barber just a working class family man who works 7 days a week with very little time (like most family men), the main use will be for quick line ups on my beard under the chin area and body hair and it seems the cyborg is very heavy handed friendly, interestingly every other RUclips barber I’ve left a comment on recommended the cyborg over the wahl. The only disappointment for me is as you’ve pointed out no guards can be used or are supplied at £230 in the uk that still means I’d use another trimmer through the rest of my beard but also accept that it wasn’t probably designed to be a all in one. My eyes are firmly set on the cyborg right up until you said it will snag under the chin… if there’s any others that spring to mind I’m all ears for beard work👍… great review and I love how brutally honest you are buddy👍👍👍
Thank you very much for the kind words! I really appreciate the amazing feedback. I don’t recommend the Cyborg for four reasons. 1. It hurts my neck because it pulls my beard hair. 2. You can’t use trimmer guards with it. 3. I don’t like Gamma/Stylecraft as a company. They are middle of the line, overpriced, overhyped, cheap-o’s. 4. It isn’t the best trimmer ever made and it’s priced like it is. I would suggest you get the JRL 2020T ($110 USD), with the stand ($18 USD), with the BaByliss Professional trimmer guards ($16 USD). It doesn’t pull my neck hair, it’s super quiet and powerful, and it’s easily the best all around trimmer ever created. I love it. My second pick is the TPOB X ($95 USD) because it’s as good as the Cyborg and BaByliss SNAPFX for half the price. The BaByliss Professional trimmer guards fit it perfectly, and I reach for it more than any other trimmer I have aside from the JRL. Third place would be the BaByliss SNAPFX which I think is a better product than the Cyborg. There are about 13 other trimmers (aside from the aforementioned) that are better than the Hi-Viz. I don’t like it at all. Thanks again for the support and encouragement. If you ever have questions, please feel free to ask.
@@clintmallon thank you so much for your reply based of what you have said I will now watch your reviews of those you have recommended via your channel as your using the products for exactly the same intention I have ,not only that these come at in half the price which is a absolute win as a family man and exactly why channels like yours are so helpful, you absolutely hit the nail on the head when you said all these influencers drive you towards these product brands (obviously as barbers they are looking for different parameters than say myself,)but the cost saving on what you have mentioned is simply a big win for myself. Thanks once again 👍👍
@@clintmallon after watching a number of reviews today and everything you’ve said I’ve just purchased 2020t at the end of the day there’s a reason you’ve recommended a unit that’s half the price of the high end units and that’s good enough for me because you believe (and others) it’s a better unit for my needs.,the added bonus is that you can get the guards (do you have a. Model number for the guards or what model BaByliss wise they are compatible with as I know I’m ordering the correct ones here in the uk) Saved me nearly £100 as I was going all in on the gamma and that can be now used elsewhere 👍👍il take that win all day ..big thank you sir 🙏
@@littlelegs6532Awesome!! The BaByliss guards you’re looking for are called “Premium Trimmer Guards.” There are four of them in the pack. In the description, it says: - Fit FX797, FX787, FX726 and most 2-hole trimmer blades - Fiberglass-reinforced nylon for strength and durability - will not rub when the trimmer blade is zero gapped - Gold metal clip to firmly secure guard to the unit - 4 different size comb attachments (.5, 1, 1.5, 2) - Comb attachments are black amzn.to/3vhpsJL
Thanks for all your work. It's truly appreciated..... I'm getting on the game now and there's so many s different reviews and reviewers..... It bonkers..... Your website is exactly what i was looking for..... Keep up the good work!
Hi from France 🇫🇷, what a clean review. I checked your website thanks for this work. I’m not agree with you on some point. Where did you put the new tpob x premium trimmer if you have it ? Have a good day
@@NormanBatsGot it. It’s very similar to the original X. The main difference is the XO comes with a stand, it doesn’t have a hook, and it’s slightly more expensive.
If I could only have one and nothing else, I would pick one of these: 1. BaByliss FXOne LoPROFX 2. BaByliss Original LoPROFX 3. BaByliss LithiumFX All three of them cut the same and they’re the three I reach for the most.
I am still thinking JRL I love how quiet they are ,plus you are the most honest reviewer I have seen and that is why I am asking you if you think JRL is a good idea.Again thank you. And have a great day bud.
Hey! I answer this question in detail in this video. Go to 33:10 Vector motors are no good in comparison to Rotary or Brushless motors and Stylecraft makes some of the lowest quality machines of any manufacturer. Not a fan of them.
@@clintmallonCan we use TPOB X for 3 mm straight haircuts and stubble shaves (0.2 - 0.3mm) without any problems? What is the minimum cutting length of this machine?
I’ve had the oster trimmers cordless didn’t like, the first JRL trimmers didn’t like, have the caliber .22 and they’re alright but can’t seem to find that true go to hitter. I haven’t tried the babyliss, I just ordered the cyborgs hopefully they hit.
The Cyborgs definitely hit. I would recommend your next purchase be one of these three: 1. BaByliss LithiumFX (Black/Blue) 2. BaByliss FXOne LoPROFX 3. BaByliss LoPROFX Original Those are my three favorite hitters. Check out the list on my website: clintmallon.com/best-hair-trimmers
First of all ,THE WAHL HI VIZ has its place in any barbers toolbox,POINT BLANK! .. I agree with the price tag ,but this trimmer is by far the best / easier to use when it comes to designs, mustaches ( especially underneath the nose ),goatees ( inside the chin area ),edge ups These trimmers ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR BULK CUTTING! .. I use the JRL trimmer for bulk cutting ,I also use the instincts for bulk cutting as well ,but for edging up The wahl is one of my go too.. My top trimmer line up includes the wahl detailers,hi viz ,jrl trimmers ,andis cordless t outliner ( the black one ) & the instincts Different trimmers have thier place more in certain areas than others
I’m really happy to hear you like the Hi-Viz. Have you used the TPOB X, BaByliss SNAPFX, BaByliss FXOne LoPROFX, Stylecraft Flex, Cocco BLDC, BaByliss LithiumFX, or TPOB Troll?
@@clintmallon i am currently using a wahl 5 star but i always get irritated skin on my throat when i shave. it leaves a little scar behind. what could it be due to?
@@goransvensson5547I have no idea man. I would guess: 1. Shaving in the wrong direction 2. The blades are too zero gapped 3. The blades are old and dull 4. It’s a Wahl I suggest shaving in the opposite direction than you usually do. If that doesn’t work, replace your trimmer with a newer, better one. Here’s a list of the best ones: clintmallon.com/best-hair-trimmers
@@clintmallon thank you so much i appreciate your channel. I have started to cut my own hair because I have for many years been dissatisfied with the hairdressers here in Sweden. I bought myself a Wahl magic gold. what do you think of that machine?
@@goransvensson5547Hey, thank you. I think the Magic Clip and the Senior are both excellent. Wahl makes incredible clippers and guards. That’s their bread and butter. I just don’t like their trimmers.
Thanks Clint. Awesome content! Keep it up brotha. I'm a fan of the Cyborg clipper and trimmer set. I also use the BaBylissPRO LimitedFX Camo Clipper and trimmer set. I utilize the pros of both clippers and trimmers to get the best haircut for my cutting style. Again thanks for all your effort. 👍🏾
My pleasure and thank you! That’s a very nice setup. People walk in thinking you only have one set, and then they hear the camo kick on and say “What was that?” Haha!
I just liked & subscribed. Idk why but I’m skeptical bout the stainless steel blade on the Cyborg & Rebel trimmer. Wouldn’t a gold titanium or dlc be best? They say the gold titanium performs the best but Idc for the color. DLC graphite/graphene is my preference
@justcryHavok I don’t hate your first pick… Those are your picks and I respect that. The Saber just isn’t for me, and that’s ok. Plain stainless is inferior to a DLC coated blade (or a different material from the ground up) in theory, because of the heat. However, I think these RUclipsrs have everyone confused. Hear me out… They all have 40 trimmers and they’re trying to produce content, so they switch out the blades and talk about it to sell products for their sponsors. I tell people all the time… If you’re not a RUclipsr, don’t switch out your blades. If we’re being real… you can zero gap a $40 trimmer from Walmart and it’ll hit and debulk with the best of them. These blades, in reality, are all 98-99% the same. They come from the same factory, using the same machines and materials, and they simply slap different names on them. They’re like TV’s and computer monitors. The biggest differences between all of these devices is the design and the details of the machines. The stand (or lack of one). The charging ports. The ergonomics. You get the point. If you like the Saber, you’ll probably throw it in the trash after getting your hands on the Cyborg. For you, I highly recommend it because they don’t really compare in my eyes. The Cyborg is next level. However, the 2020T has a stainless blade, I have it perfectly zero gapped to 99% (so that it doesn’t cut the skin), and that machine debulks better than the Saber, the X, the FX, and the Cyborg. The biggest names on RUclips are backwards with the stuff they tell everyone. The 2020T is easily the best I’ve ever used out of 27-28 trimmers. It’s perfect.
That was enlightening. Strange that no one talks about the JRL trimmer but everyone praises the Onyx clipper. When Public Enemy said, “don’t believe the hype”, guess they weren’t wrong lol
@@justcryHavokHaha! It’s so true. What I have found is the barber community on RUclips is kind of a nasty space. There’s a lot of politics, selfishness, and greed. It’s not really a good place for novices and intermediate barbers to do research. Just buy a trimmer that feels nice that you can afford, and enjoy it. I think the TPOB X is one of the top 2-3 trimmers in the world for the price for 99% of the people. It’s outstanding! And for $95… it honestly doesn’t get more simple than that.
@@clintmallon the reason i ask is because you praise a trimmer that pull hair under the neck. I totally agree about the hype of Stylecraft/Gama and Babyliss as they are trash and over priced. I myself look for motor/blade/portability/price as i am on the go, that being said all these companies get products from same Chinese manufacturers and you can get the best price if you go to different distributors like TPOB MRD and others. Personally the best trimmer MRDpro SmartBrain for 1/2 price of what you call the S/C Saber. I may disagree with some of your personal picks but i do appreciate what you are doing with your videos and website. Also white labeling in this industry is what it is, just disgusting 🤮 the way Stylecraft and Babyliss over inflate there prices and pay these RUclips barbers to convince barbers to buy products that’s way out of there price range but i guess it is what its. Again best to you
@@yourmobilebarber8999You’re correct… it is what it is. And thank you for the kind words. I praise the SNAPFX because out of all of them, it does everything the best aside from the JRL. The JRL is the only one I’ve used that doesn’t snag my neck hair. I think the SNAPFX is the only $200 trimmer I’ve ever used that actually feels like $200. All the other ones feel like they should cost half the price.
@@clintmallon definitely understand as no product is perfect and i respect the time and money you put into all the data you provide. Other reviews only give reviews and unboxing with no data. Thank you for all the data you provide
I carefully read and examined your article about hair clippers on your website. There was some information that I felt was missing and that I wanted very much. Hair cutting and hair-beard trimming machines did not have minimum and maximum cutting lengths without a comb. How many mm apart do the minimum cutting lengths lead to the maximum cutting distances? Information like this would be very enlightening for us. I request you to add this to your website. I also have a question for you, can you help me? I shave my entire hair to a length of 3 mm, and I cut my entire beard to a length of 0.2 or 0.3 mm, close to zero. Do you have a recommendation for a combo machine that can shave both hair and beard? I would prefer a solid machine. Thanks!
Thank you for your honest review and comparison👍Very competent and helpful information🙌 I bought JRL instead of Cyborg just because of your video and now I see that I was not mistaken. JRL really does not snag the skin and for body grooming it is what you need. Thank you🙏
Great review, Clint. This is the first one I could find that’s not biased, which I think is one of the most important factors when reviewing products. I actually didn’t know that the Cyborg ticks off every one of my boxes for what I’m looking for in a trimmer before watching this, and that really represents the biased, paid off reviewers on RUclips. Question: If the blade screws was recessed, what guards/attachment combs would fit this trimmer, and what would be your favorite picks?
Thank you. I think it’s one of the most important factors too. The Cyborg is great but it’s definitely not the best. Regarding the trimmer guards, check out the description of the video. I go in thorough detail with the description on all of my videos, and the BaByliss Professional Trimmer Guards are in there under the “Products I love” section. If you haven’t checked out my website, that’s a good resource for you too. I appreciate you for watching and for sharing your thoughts.
Thanks!
Integrity is what it’s all about. And you’re correct… I don’t want Wahl to send me anything else until they step their game up. The Magic Clip clippers and Senior clippers are excellent. Everything else they sell is middle of the line, at best. In my opinion: BaByliss, JRL, and Oster are the kings. Everything else is just noise. Thank you for watching!
There are no trimmer guards that fit it. I sold that thing to a barber for $80 because I dislike it that much. If you’re thinking about buying it… don’t.
@@clintmallon Well tanhks for an honest review Man! I was thinking about buying that shit! ). Now am not. Will you advise me? What will be the best trimmer for a home user if I need 4.5 or 5 mm length for my beard? (sorry for my English). Money dose not play a role. I am ready o pay for the best
@@clintmallon Well the best is JRL FreshFade 2020T right? And we can use BaBylissPRO Trimmer Guards for it, among the wihch we have 4.5 and 6 mm length. My frined, do you know any trimmer which allows to make a 5 mm length for a beard?
@@clintmallon Excuse me for that many questions my friend but your rating is kinda tricky. You say that JRL FreshFade 2020T is hands down the best trimmer in the world for less than $180. But what would be the best trimmer in the world for you no matter what it costs? I mean if money does not count. When only quality matters.
Got JRL TRIMMERS GOT 4 BABYLISS SUPERMOTOR SKELETONS. GOT LO PRO .CAN'T BUY EITHER OF THESE. GLAD YOU THINK JRL ARE GREAT. MY BEST TRIMMERS . I NEED TO USE THEM MORE. THANKS FOR THE MOTOR INFORMATION. I HAVE SUBSCRIBED. LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT VIDEO. BEST TRIMMER REVIEW VIDEO EVER. WELL DONE.
@@edwardhdnxnsimple3168I would pick them in this order: 1. FXOne LoPROFX 2. FXOne Skeleton 3. Gamma Cyborg Gamma/Stylecraft simply makes inferior products to BaByliss. BaByliss is a world leader along with JRL. When in doubt, just remember this because it’s 100% accurate.
I respect your evaluations and opinions, but I have all of these besides the hi viz. for me the Babyliss is in third place I have those exact ones. It’s Cyborgs for me, Sabers, and then the JRL’s. The sabers and cyborgs just delete hair instantly. I got both zero gapped, kept it right before the blade it can’t any closer and it cuts cleaner than the Babyliss. Not sure why you don’t like the sabers. They’re far from trash. Top 3 trimmers out.
I’ve yet to use the cyborg but I have the Hi Viz I actually really like it, the weird ergonomics, power and weight is good…. But… The blade is just killing me I keep wanting to like it but it snags hard going up with it. The lines are decent tho
The power and weight are good for sure. I really like rotary motors. If it had a normal “GoldFX style” blade (TPOB Psycho or BaByliss DLC 2.0/Graphite 2.0, etc), it would probably perform twice as well. I personally can’t get over the ergonomics and the shallow tooth blade. I really wish they would stop production and try again. It’s nowhere close to the top of the pack and even the $70-80 Supreme Trimmer Vader is a superior trimmer in every conceivable way: amzn.to/48lyfJd I’m all about Wahl clippers (Senior and Magic Clip), but the Wahl trimmers division of their company needs a new staff. 😂
Trimmers are not made for bulking people do it just to be down you ask me. This is why I don’t get why you 0 gap your clipper to use your trimmer to debulk🤦🏽♂️ I might be different cause I didn’t learn to use a trimmer to debulk.
Wahl “Clipper” guards don’t fit on any trimmer. They’re way too big. The BaByliss Professional “Trimmer” guards (it’s a four pack), do fit the 2020T though. I have two videos that discuss the 2020T in detail. It’s the best trimmer at trimming a beard out of any trimmer. Period.
Do hope Wahl listen to your feedback for their professional range. They could make bank for easily for a simple redesign tweak of the cordless detailer.
They listen, I just don’t know if they care. They’re such a giant, old company, that they’re set in their ways. So for them to make changes, things move at a snail’s pace. They reached out to me to give me the Hi-Viz because of my other videos. I highly doubt the cordless detailer will change, but in my opinion, none of us should even be looking at that product. Check out my website and look at the top 10. Those are worth your time and money.
Wahl Rolly Polly lol 😂 , I absolutely agree with you about the $100 price tag , I have 5 Babyliss boost trimmers , 2 of them brand new still in package and I’m very happy with them , I don’t see a reason to drop $200 on the hi-viz.
Haha! If I compared it to a BaByliss product, this video would have gone the same way. Even a TPOB X is $104 on Amazon and can be found for $95 quite often. That thing is far superior to the Hi-Viz across the board. I appreciate you watching.
Bro I have to say that I actually love the hi viz trimmer, I’ve been cutting hair for 30 plus years and when you gap the hi viz they hit , I would love to see a video of you cutting with both of these trimmers on all textures of hair and showing how they both perform
I’m glad you love it. I sold it to my barber for $80 with the agreement that he wouldn’t use it on me. 😂 We chose $80 because that’s what we felt it was worth. He has had it for a few months now and said he doesn’t really like it. “Average at best,” he said (and I agree). None of the other guys in the shop wanted it.
I don’t like demonstrations because all trimmers trim and all clippers clip. I think reviewers who do demonstrations are doing it because they can’t find the words to fill their reviews. It’s a cop out. I don’t care how “you” do a lineup or fade - I want to hear you talk about the products, you know? I find myself fast forwarding through the cuts because they always turn out the same. Just my two cents.
@@clintmallon I respect your opinion, but I think that’s the difference between the Clippers and the trimmers the way they trim and Clip I will just be buying equipment based on how they look…
Build quality aside and all the other stuff you’ve mentioned, im 100% with you on brands over charging and what these £200 should come with. But in real world performance the wahl blades bangs one of the sharpest lines of all these trimmer you me tioned. JRL being the worst by far as that doesnt line up very well even zero gapped. Very good and thorough review mate, just subbed 👍🏻
since age 11 till now 44 years old my wahl corded black taper didnt let me down..still good with no rust n excellent in shape..the quality is indeed i called superb n excellent..my new senior n corded detailer is my main arsenal for now..using every week to bald my head n cut hair for 3 of my boys n wife..jrl i agreed is the most unreliable product to buy..cant even hold a year or two then totally dead..but the quiet sound when using it n battery is indeed good..
See now. I like this. Speak the truth!! We want value for our money. Barbers needs to be honest. Not all of us have the money to buy, so don't mislead us. Thanks man!
This is the first time I’ve ever seen you. I get it that a metal body IS higher quality. But it’s also a lot heavier. When you’re cutting hair all day, heavy tools have a major effect on YOUR body at the end of the day. I prefer for all of my tools to be as lightweight as absolutely possible. For that reason, I won’t even consider a metal clipper or trimmer. I’ve been cutting hair for 35 years and want to continue doing it for as long as possible so I need to not overstrain my body. But, all that being said, this was a very good and thorough video. I especially appreciate your explanation about the different motors. I am subscribing.
Awe! Thank you. I do want to make it clear that neither of these tools are heavy. “Substantial feeling” is a better adjective in my opinion. However, I’m 6’1” and 220lbs, so my idea of light and heavy may be different than yours. Nevertheless, the JRL 2020T, Cyborg, Hi-Viz, and TPOB X all feel about the same weight in my hands. I mention the X because it’s another world class trimmer. The BaByliss SNAPFX is slightly lighter and that may be exactly what you’re looking for. I love all of them aside from the Hi-Viz, but the Cyborg and X may be a little heaver than you need. Thank you for watching!
You really seem to hate Style Craft! While I agree that Gamma is nice, I prefer my sabers to any of the babyliss trimmers. My sabers are my go to trimmers and they both hit and are my faves.
Both trimmers are good, my friend. It's all up to personal preference, and you preferred the CYBORG. You may not like that Wahl HI-VIZ, but that trimmer cuts clean and gets the job done @riick-grimez765. Local babershops use both.
You heard about kiepe prescelta? It's an underrated clipper at the price of 50-60 €,and a lot of top barbers from my country (Romania),use it&get super fresh fades. Can you da a review about it? The materials of it are not exceptional, but the result of exceptional haircuts that you get with that dlc fade blade are🔥🔝.Peace & keep doing what you do because you will get barbers around the world that will be your followers of content that you do.Anyway, superb and smart full review about any little angles of each clipper/trimmer🔝🤙💯✂️
I agree the cyborgs are dope but the sabers are still my favorite the ergonomics of the cyborgs are better they feel more premium much more weight but the sabers are top tier sabers the cyborgs for me
I dont understand how you dont like the saber its a great trimmer with the one blade. I have two pairs and a cyborg as well and I got rid of most of my other trimmers after getting those.
I have a whole video where I go into detail about the Saber. I respect that others like it, but I don’t at all. So many other trimmers on the market that are better in my opinion. It’s overhyped just like everything else Stylecraft sells.

I never seen anything hit as clean as a Andis although the cordless one not as powerful. The Whale detailers hit for a lil while but break easy . I have to say that babyliss hits the best right now but I don't like there stuff and all those others like style craft are super cheap products
They couldn’t pay me enough to rep what they represent. Like you said in your other comment… “Average at best.” I’m BaByliss and JRL all day. TPOB is pretty dang good too.
I think their $30-40 clippers at Walmart are excellent for average users. The cordless Senior and Magic Clip are also excellent if you can find them on sale for $120. Their trimmers aren’t very good though.
I bought the hi-viz I didn’t really like it it’s only good for lining up for the price is not worth it the babyliss is better all around the jrl are also good do rn debunking
I don't know what type of hair you've been cutting, but the wahl hi viz the best trimmer out right now. I put my @wahl hi viz against any trimmer that you have. You crazy if you got jrl number 1.
How can call gamma cyborg Lamborghini when it pulls against the grain? My wahl Detailer doesn't pull against the grain! By the way Wahl has better warranty then Gamma, Babyliss or Andis
Lamborghini’s are very rough around the edges. Even though they’re flashy, they’re not perfect machines. I think calling the Cyborg a Lamborghini is exactly what it is. A cool looking device with a lot of flash and a few issues that make it inferior to a Ferrari or Porsche.
@@clintmallon ok thank you. You think there's anything out there better then the instinct "X" trimmer? I been looking for a trimmer & so far instinct has been the #1 trimmer according to Eddi barber academy the only thing is Wahl warranty makes me want to get a Wahl trimmer instead! 🤔

Haha! Thank you sir! Colognes might be next. If you have any questions, just ask.
Thanks for the review man, just ordered the JRL trimmer after getting rid of the saber (garbage). Are the JRL trimmers hitters and easy to adjust?
My pleasure!! I agree the Saber isn’t what everyone says it is.
Here’s the deal with the JRL 2020T. The only negative thing about it is it isn’t a 10/10 hitter. I zero gapped it (Not 100%, but 98-99%) one time ever. It sets lines pretty well but it’s not on the same level as the original GoldFX for example. Aside from that:
- It debulks better than any trimmer on the market
- It’s the only one that doesn’t snag or pull hair on my throat when I scoop.
I will say this:
- SNAPFX ($199) you can find for $150ish in the description of this video.
Got it, thanks for the tips man!!!

Thank you for the kind words. I would suggest you go thru the videos, but in the meantime, I’ll give you this:
TPOB XO: Yes
BaByliss FX: Nope
Stylecraft Saber: No way!
My favorites currently are the:
1. BaByliss FXOne LoPROFX
2. BaByliss LithiumFX (Black/Blue Limited)
3. JRL 2020T
4. Original LoPROFX
Stylecraft products are trash! Don’t believe the hype. They are middle/bottom of the line across the board in reality.
The BaByliss FX series (The ones with the barbell grip) are no good in my opinion. I have owned all four:
1. Original FX skeleton
2. FX+ with the N1 motor and USB-C
3. BoostFX
4. SnapFX
The SnapFX is great, but not in my top 4. The others are average at best.
The TPOB X is better than the newer XO.

Exactly what i was looking for damn man. What are the chances someone bought and campared all the trimmers i wanted to compare. Unbiased reviews about what matters within a product. Subscribed! Well done guy!
Thank you for the kind words!
@@clintmallon I don't mean trimmers. i mean gamma cyborg clipper. normally clippers weigh from 280-350. cyborg clipper weighs 430 grams
@@goransvensson5547I know you were talking about the clipper, not the trimmer. Same response I mentioned above…
It’s a high quality, all metal clipper. Of course it weighs more than many of the other cheaper plastic clippers out there. With that additional weight, you get many added benefits like you mentioned in your original comment.
@@clintmallon you are right, quality usually has more weight

Nice comparison. looking for a review johnny b Pegasus Trimmer.
Which trimmer has the close clean shave for beard?
What's the weight like on the cyborg? All reviews say they're on the heavy side
Edit - I haven't tried every trimmer but my OG Babyliss FX gold trimmer is still sharp.

@@goransvensson5547Hey, thank you. I think the Magic Clip and the Senior are both excellent. Wahl makes incredible clippers and guards. That’s their bread and butter. I just don’t like their trimmers.
Are the cyborgs good for designs too?
They are. The only thing they’re not good at is scooping on sensitive areas like the throat/beard area. They tend to snag and pull.

I personally wouldn’t buy the Cyborg or the Rebel again. Did you make it to the end of the video?
Yes. 1. SC Saber, 2. TPOB X/XO, 3. Babyliss FX. I know ur gonna hate my 1st pick but I don’t have the JRL or Cyborg to compare it to
@justcryHavok I don’t hate your first pick… Those are your picks and I respect that. The Saber just isn’t for me, and that’s ok.
Plain stainless is inferior to a DLC coated blade (or a different material from the ground up) in theory, because of the heat. However, I think these RUclipsrs have everyone confused.
Hear me out…
They all have 40 trimmers and they’re trying to produce content, so they switch out the blades and talk about it to sell products for their sponsors.
Just have a question. Do you use these products on clients with different hair textures?
Of course. Everyone’s hair is different
@@clintmallon the reason i ask is because you praise a trimmer that pull hair under the neck. I totally agree about the hype of Stylecraft/Gama and Babyliss as they are trash and over priced.
Thank you🙏
Couldn’t agree more! Thanks for watching.
16:10 you are funny man 😂😂😂I ordered cyborg with black x-pro blade ,it’s on the way
Haha!! I laughed a lot making this video. I had to cut a lot of it out. I’m glad you got the Cyborg. It’s stellar!

I really appreciate your integrity and its safe to say whal won't be sending you anything else and you seem to not give a dam
Integrity is what it’s all about. And you’re correct… I don’t want Wahl to send me anything else until they step their game up. The Magic Clip clippers and Senior clippers are excellent. Everything else they sell is middle of the line, at best. In my opinion:
BaByliss, JRL, and Oster are the kings. Everything else is just noise.
Thank you for watching!
What lengths of attachment combs are available for Wahl hi-viz trimmer? 4.5 mm or maybe 5 mm? (sorry for my English).
There are no trimmer guards that fit it. I sold that thing to a barber for $80 because I dislike it that much. If you’re thinking about buying it… don’t.

The Hiviz has the sharpest lineups ever, but the gamma/sc are a close second, however the gamma/sc are stronger in bulk removal.
Can you compare the gamma to the new fx one
Not in video format because these videos take too long to make. I can do it here though…
FXOne skeleton or FXOne LoPROFX?
@@clintmallon both of the fX ones if you can
@@edwardhdnxnsimple3168I would pick them in this order:
1. FXOne LoPROFX
2. FXOne Skeleton
3. Gamma Cyborg
Gamma/Stylecraft simply makes inferior products to BaByliss.

It’s nowhere close to the top of the pack and even the $70-80 Supreme Trimmer Vader is a superior trimmer in every conceivable way:
amzn.to/48lyfJd
I’m all about Wahl clippers (Senior and Magic Clip), but the Wahl trimmers division of their company needs a new staff. 😂
Trimmers are not made for bulking people do it just to be down you ask me. This is why I don’t get why you 0 gap your clipper to use your trimmer to debulk🤦🏽♂️ I might be different cause I didn’t learn to use a trimmer to debulk.
Got the cyborg combo great review
Do wahl clipper guards fit on JRL 2020T? And how's JRL 2020T just for trimming beard to let's say 5mm? I'm looking for a "all in one" solution.
Period.
@@clintmallon Great then, thank you so much! I guess this will be my next purchase.
Wahl gonna get $ regardless.
Can you do a review on the caliber laser or the laser+ trimmer?

Both are great trimmers.
Thank you!
Why are there two zero gap setters for the Cyborg trimmer?
Any difference between the two?
I don’t think there are two. I never use them so I have no idea.
@@Uchihasauke1991one is universal the other is standard, and yes it’s a pretty good setter for it to be free.
You are brutally honest.
I think everyone should be. 👍
A demonstration would’ve been great! But you’re right about the unboxings I have wasted too much time in the videos ….

Best of the three, for sure.
Great review Clint!
Thank you! I hope you found it helpful.
Can you review TPOB?
Check my other videos
I prefer the Stylecrafts Xblosions.
Both trimmers are good, my friend. It's all up to personal preference, and you preferred the CYBORG. You may not like that Wahl HI-VIZ, but that trimmer cuts clean and gets the job done @riick-grimez765. Local babershops use both.
I have never used sabers but i have no problems with babyliss fx gold fx original blades debulks great and does sharp lines

Correct. But the best trimmers are excellent at doing both.

I agree the cyborgs are dope but the sabers are still my favorite the ergonomics of the cyborgs are better they feel more premium much more weight but the sabers are top tier sabers the cyborgs for me
I respect that. They are the same trimmer for the most part… it all comes down to preference. Thank you for sharing!
