I have a Sinatra album from 1974. I also love some Bowie and Kraftwerk. I can’t think of anything else that I would want to own. I always thought Sonny and Cher were married into the 80s. So that was a surprise.
Interestingly enough, that Al-Green-burned-by-boiling-grits story that Richard brought up inspired the addition of lyrics to a song that's also in a Numero comp... both *Hot Grits* and its instrumental original version *Pure Soul* are on "Eccentric Soul: the Capsoul Label" music.ruclips.net/video/qkPm4s3kSS4/видео.html
@@hubtunes9607 yea it never occurs to me when a reissue comes out that there may be a mofi version I can get instead now that the albums on my mind and I would rather have that than the pink or the zoetrope reissue for sure
Honky Tonk Heroes by Waylon Jennings were from 1973. "This Time" the follow up were from 1974. Which is maybe even the stronger album then Honky Tonk Heroes. There is no We Had It All as commercial filer on this one for example and less overdubs.

"Don't Call Us" is actually about the opposite direction...band contacting record company. Good description by Jerry when he was with Classic Rock All Stars: ruclips.net/video/tXM3b8Zc8UM/видео.htmlsi=8yWJaDZz41qG-X0X Jerry was such a nice man and this version of CRA was such a wonderful part of my life.
Yes, that's what I said. It's about how record labels wouldn't talk to them and kept saying "don't call us, we'll call you". Then after their big hit there is, what I referred to as a "reversal of fortune", and the song ends with the band telling the labels "don't call us now, we'll call you".
@@RobertFithen Oops, my bad. You focused on mare the band part, while I've always focused on the record company part. In any case, I'm neutral towards the song. Don't go out of my way to listen to it, but listen to it if it's playing. Definitely not on my "turn it off/change the station" list. And regarding "Battle of New Orleans," I was too young when Johnny Horton had the hit, so no awareness that it might be in bad taste. It's one of the 45's that got shared between me and a neighbor's son I was pretty much raised with. You're right, it was a part of my childhood, and therefore nostalgic to me.
Hey! I only lasted 27 minutes this week before I hafta comment. There's a *superb* version of that 'Shame, Shame, Shame' song on Numero's "Belize City Boil Up" comp: music.ruclips.net/video/1B75Ji4PyII/видео.html
It turns out i don't a lot of the music of 1974 but I have heard of it. I wanted to listen to some of the bottoms before I commented and also the "Super Duper Love" song. 🦸♀ I did like that one. The bottoms were all truly bad. 🤮🤮 I don't know if ray stevens ever made a good song but "the streak" was probably his most popular. 🦵🦵 The tonya tucker song is just cringe. It was nice to see robert's pervert character that he does again. 👅👅 That "No Charge" song isn't as loudly sung as robert implies but it is just corny AF, he does get the little girl's voice right though. 🤣 "Freebird" is just over played as this point it's played out. I agree craig needs to hear joni mitchell 🟦 Blue🔵 album immediately.
I have Blue on my list to order. I just feel like I’m following the crowd by getting it! I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. I did order the one Mike talked about first. It should be here today.
Okay I was going to leave a music related comment, however at the 55 minute mark I thought I heard a cat in the background? 😸😁

Lou Reed Rock N Roll Animal is one of the best live albums. I’ve never heard From The Mars Hotel. I stopped at Wake Of The Flood.

LOL moment: "I'm 82 and you're gonna get ate too".
Ahahaha so this is the episode the Joni Mitchell short came from
Surprised no one mentioned John Lennon's "Walls And Bridges" album. It's definitely in my top 5 of 1974.
Damn, Dropped the ball on that. My 3rd favorite solo Lennon album
I was just at amoebas in Los Angeles with my only friend Randy who’s a huge dead head and he got that new Mars Hotel anniversary edition
Nice! I almost grabbed it the other day. My MoFi sounds great. I gotta stop doubling up on albums 😅

If you wanna feel real nice, ask the rock and roll doctor's advice 🎶💕
I can't believe possibly his best album "On the beach" Neil Young was not mentioned
That Billy Preston album cover almost looks like something from Fat Albert
