"You can get a Christmas ornament that sounds like that now,." That was one of your best lines. I'll always grab a Tomita album If I see one in the dollar bins or at a thrift store, but, it's not something I'd spend a lot of money on.

Steamhammer’s first album Reflections from 1969 and Uriah Heep Very ‘Eavy Very ‘Umble from 1970 would be cool! Fun fact: You mentioned the band Renaissance. Martin Pugh the lead guitarist for them was also the lead guitarist for Steamhammer. Jeff Beck also produced their third album: Mountains.

That Bruce Haack album is really fun if you like that 70s synth stuff. Same with the Tomita stuff. I really like the Tomita Bermuda Triangle album, its got some really cool album art and the version I got has a weird pink color record.

I'm sure I saw those Tomita records at some point in the past, because I remember seeing his album covers back in the day with his name in that same font every time. Other than that, the only one I've seen before is Chase - and that's only because I have a yellow-label Epic pressing of Sly's 'There's a Riot Goin' On' from 1971 and the inner sleeve advertises it. Never knew what it sounded like, though.

I dont like them at all. My stepmom played alot of Motown and some classic rock. I was into new wave and then later metal. My tatses have been broadened thanks to many channels in the vinyl community. Aaron (Mr Bizzarro) and the hydra shows have got me into alot of things. Keep up the great work.

I played side one and I’m now listening to side two. I agree with some of your description but overall it is a 60’s exploito record. Which is something I like. It is staying in the collection and I just entered it into discogs. I’m still buying records but trying to purge more than I bring in. It is time for me to trim the collection down. So far the hardest hit have been Classic Rock and 80’s records. I don’t think most of my Jazz will fare very well either.

I have the two Tomita albums, plus seven others by him. I collect different recordings of The Planets Suite by Gustav Holst (I have over 30 recordings on vinyl, tape and C.D.).The Tomita one is very different to the rest, but very interesting and amusing. Holst's final movement of The Planets, 'Neptune' is a beautiful and evocative interpretation of an infinity in space, which is eternal.

I have an exact reissue of "Electric Lucifer" I picked up in the late 90s. Weird, cool record.
I thought I was the only one out there who had the "California '99" album! I found it in the store I worked at and bought it for the cover of the Who's "Underture", which I thought was an interesting choice for a cover.
I've seen the Happening album here and there for years but it was always priced kind of high. Nice to know musically it's not worth more than $20. I'd still pick it up if I saw it for 20 or less.- JT

I have an obscure record by a pathetic group called Kiss. It is obviously American comedy they make the Shags sound proficient.

Capitol should have used that “The Happening” cover for a top tier band’s album. It’s beautiful.

Tomita was a virtuoso dude! You need "The Snowflakes are Dancing"... you can get that in bargain bins also... but who cares... you hear Clair de Lune or Girl with the Flaxen Hair... sold!

/Troll mode ON: hey Robert, we need a full review of Steely Dan - Aja! /Troll mode OFF
(Sorry I had to do it...)
I paused your video to go check and listen (more like scan through really) some of the albums you mention.
The Electric Lucifer was really not my thing, on the other hand Intergalactic Touring Band has some merits, it's not really my thing but I could listen to that I think. The Rabbit McKay album is very "uneven" (that's the translation Google gave me for my French), The opener and closer are actually pretty good, again not really my thing but it's nicely done. True, the screaming is uncalled for and some tracks bad.
For Chase, yep, that's a lot of horns... maybe if I listen to 1 track a day, I'll be able to go through the full album.
And agreed, the Happening, nope, no, don't even think about it even if it's free.
Ok, what about a review of Iron Butterfly - Metamorphosis?
There is an interesting fact about this album, for whatever reasons they seemed to have flipped the sides at some point, side becoming side A...
I own the reel to reel of this album and it starts how the vinyl I got start side B. Checking on Discogs shows that the first/early pressings are like my reel but then it flipped and I have no idea why.
(BTW, Soldier in Our Town is probably the best thing I heard on my reel to reel machine... and it's just at 7 1/2 ips)

I'm looking for that album by Haack! Chase is so ubiquitous around Nebraska, I have a reaction every time I see it. Maybe for something different give "Reachin'" by Arcesia (John Arcesi) a listen for 15k, see how it strikes ya! 😃
