I love these one brand wash days, but please don't sacrifice your health for them! Even if that means you stopping at the end of day 1 and explaining why, that's still perfectly fine. Your health is more important than inconsistency

I agree with the other commenters. Better to wash it out . No one wants to live through an awful allergy, filled night and morning. Also I wanted to say thank you for your careful reiteration that you are not saying a product is bad, but instead are saying it doesn't work for you. So many people miss that nuance. And I think it's good that you pointed it out. I think you probably picked up awash and conditioner. That is formulated for someone with very coarse high porosity, dry hair. So it over protected your hair and didn't strip out the prior products and left too much in. And of course, as you said, then it doesn't work. I experienced this when I tried a different shampoo from my absolute favorite brand and was like, nope, never again.

There is ONE AWESOME product from this Living Proof line for dry hair curlies. It’s the Curl Definer. Basically a curl cream. It’s super concentrated and moisturizing. Similar to Bounce Curl’s Avocado and Rose Oil Curl Cream. Both of these creams help my curls to clump and stick together but I don’t mean sticky like lollipop sticky.

I hope you are feeling better, allergies are miserable. I'm a migraine sufferer and fragrances are one of my triggers. Also, I agree, looks like the shampoo/conditioner put a coating/over-moisturized your hair.

I've only just found your channel and haven't moved over to dealing with my post-menopause waves quiiiite yet, but I have to say I've been using LP for years (the Full line, fine hair here) and I love it as it's the only line that makes it possible for me to go 3-4 days between shampoos. It does seem (based on your description) as though the curl line isn't for me, it may be too heavy for my hair. I haven't used heat on my below-shoulder-length hair in five years, so it's possible I've got less damage than I would otherwise. The journey is about to commmence!

Hi! I started watching your videos after feeling like I had bad straight hair... Week 2 and I love how my hair looks and feels I actually have a curl pattern waiting for me right there and I never knew!!! I followed you directions on how to wash it, doing the wet plop and everything! I've heard your advice on how long it takes but I'm ready... the amount of times I tried to heatstyle my hair curly... 🤦‍♀ thank you so much for the informative but easy to understand videos! As someone who has no idea at the moment about it I can watch without getting confused or lost about what you are saying ♥

Thank you so much for these honest reviews and showcases of all these different sorts of products. I do hope your allergic reaction to this one got better quick! I related to this on many levels - not allergy wise but I also tried something new yesterday which absolutely did not work. It wasn’t even new products, it was just a new combination of some of my absolute favourite curlsmith products, but that combo just did not agree with my fine wavy hair whatsoever (my hair is verryyyy similar to yours actually). I felt so crap about it and about myself as a result of it, so much so that I ended up crying feeling like a total failure haha!! In the morning of day 1 I just had to rewash… ugh! Worked much better though. Wavy/curly life is tough!!! Thank you for all the work you put into these videos! You’re such a joy!!!

I was one who requested you try these products and I'm so sorry the fragrance was too much! Thank you for sticking through the allergic reaction until the next day. I got a free trial size of the curl shampoo & conditioner and I was not impressed but I might try out the gel sometime. I really liked their Perfect Hair Day serum and dry shampoo back when I straightened my hair. Thanks as always for your honest opinions! Now go wash your hair!

  • @redhead0112

Living Proof was my favorite brand when I straightened my hair, it was the first time I used all silicone free products. I never noticed the fragrance being that strong but I guess I’m not sensitive to them. Some of their products were too heavy for my fine hair. My favorites were the no frizz shampoo and conditioner, and I LOVE their perfecting spray leave in conditioner. I still use that one as a leave in and like that it has heat protectant. When I used to air dry my hair I used their wavy hair cream and it was one of my favorite curly hair products until I learned how to style my wavy/curly hair. I also use their bond repair treatment, it is much cheaper than K18!

  • @jessleite94

It’s so crazy I have fine wavy hair and so do you and all the products you love I don’t and vise versa. The curl gel and the cream give my hair life. It’s the best products I’ve ever found for my hair. It just proves that just because our hair type is the same doesn’t mean the same products work for everyone. Also I’m sorry about the fragrance for these for you I find a lot of products give me headaches like the cake but this doesn’t which is weird. Maybe it’s the shampoo and conditioner because I don’t use that.

I'm so sorry you are having an allergic reaction. I haven't had allergies in years until these last few weeks. Miserable!
I have very similar hair to yours. Wanted to let you know because of these one brand wash days I bought the Briogeo gel to try. The results were epic!! I already had the Briogeo superfoods banana and coconut shampoo and conditioner. Thought it would be too heavy and hydrating for my hair but it's not. Then I used the curl charisma leave-in definig cream, then the curl definig gel. I plopped. The one thing I tried that has made a HUGE difference was after plopping I added Aussie instant volume moose. Micro plopped after. Hover diffused and then pixie diffused. I have waves, almost culs like NEVER before!
Just wanted to share. If you try this please let me know how it turns out. 💕
    Hope you feel better soon

Very surprising considering the price. Came back a few times to give them another go...not worth it. Also im pretty sure my contact dermatitis flared up with these products. This line is a no for me too.

I’m finding that products that say it’s for wavy, curly & coily type hair is really not for wavy hair. The products are too heavy for delicate waves, especially for fine hair. Also, with professional shampoo have to wash twice - first time cleans so not much foam, second with half the amount should foam as the hair is now clean. Non-professional shampoo add ingred that foam so it doesn’t really clean as well. I’m trying the Wella lightweight for wavy hair but their foam styler I’m highly allergic too. The search goes on…

Been using LP since early curly days, and after about a year and half it's still in my top three preferred product lines (along with Treluxe and Loma). Could be Courtney that you used WAY too much, so try less and LP might work for you. Also, I'm very sensitive to most fragrances and don't have any problems with LP. Curious why LP didn't work for you. 🤷‍♀️
