  • King of the Hammers Champion, Jason Scherer, introduces the new 2.0 Factory Series Bump Stop IFP.
    Inspired by it's off-road racing predecessors, the new Factory Series bump stop combines race proven technology with new, cutting-edge features to provide increased damping performance and bottom out control in the last few inches of suspension travel.
    The threaded body allows you to adjust the mounting height to fine-tune when the bump stop engages during up travel, preventing harsh bottom outs. An Internal Floating Piston (IFP) in the shaft separates the oil and nitrogen to prevent cavitation and bucking while the negative coil spring softens initial impacts and harsh top outs. The integrated FOX AIR VALVE (FAV) is located at the bottom of the shaft for easy access and is protected by the replaceable strike pad.
    Factory Series bump stops allow you to use every inch of suspension travel without harsh bottoming.

    Looks like the thread is taking all the bump force there!!! I love Fox, but not sure if you guys convinced me. Anyone else concerned about that?

    Can you air these up enough to hold the weight of the jeep?

    • @nickopedia5669
      @nickopedia5669 5 лет назад

      they are usually started out at 400 psi and turned down to the comfort level and weight of the vehicle, so a 2.5" bump stop with a 1.625" shaft (surface area of slightly over 2 in^2) results in 800 lbs at zero travel. (and it goes up exponentially for the first probably 1/3rd of the travel while the air piston moves)
      So if you're doing some kinda bagged/groundscraping jeep where you are fine with replacing the plastic pads fairly frequently, yeah I suppose they could work. (they come in up to 4 inches of travel)

      I have AEV coils and 2.0 fox remote reservoir shocks with these bumpstops. Whatever springs they're running are super stiff. I couldn't imagine jumping my jeep that high as I think my frame would bend on the landing lol.

      tyler s how do you like them. Did it make a big difference

      I really enjoy them. You can definitely tell a difference. It really helps with body roll too. The install was not easy, it is definitely not for the faint of heart. I also had a leak in one of them after 2 months and it was stuck halfway. I took the bump stop to Fox and they took care of everything for me. As far as the jumping in the video, you would need to run the 2.5 Internal Bypass Shocks like they have and set the compression knob settings to a super stiff setting.

      Awesome.. yeah I have the AEV set up now. Want to upgrade my shock and put bumpstips. I was thinking of coilover but I think it's over kill

    They really need to design a system that is adjustable on the trail. Stiff for the highway softer for fast trails and super soft for rock crawling. It all needs to be adjustable from inside the cab and needs to be a bolt on accessory not a permanently modify your Jeep application.

      Fox makes an adjustable reservoir shock that is bolt on, covers all of your bases except adjusting it in the cab

      If your hitting your air bumps on the freeway. Then your suspension is in need of some major tuning.

      @@zxtuner4lyfe I'm really talking about the suspension system, not so much the bump stops. Audi have suspension that is adjustable from inside the vehicle. It's super expensive though.

      @@fourbypete My 19 Raptor has the fox live valves that support different drive modes with different compression and rebound settings, adjusted via the steering wheel. It isn't perfect, but it does a lot of what you are suggesting. The added expense of a 'live valve' bump stop for on the fly adjustability is an interesting concept. Probably one that wouldn't have a good cost/benefit, but who knows?

      @@grgoss1 I'd like to see it for the Jeep Wrangler. They are so far behind the times.
