    Just installed these today. I have to trim the fender liner more as it’s pretty tight against the top of the bump stop and makes a horrendous noise as the body and frame flex independently. I also added 3/4” spring spacers to the front as my 3.5” rockkrawler springs are sagging. I set the initial length at 8” because I was bottoming out bad enough to hit the fender liners with a 3” bump stop extension. Will hopefully trim the liners and flex the front end to see if any more adjustments are needed tomorrow. Keep up the awesome videos!

      @@JKGearandGadgets Sweet! How do these DV8 compare to KING and Fox? Which one would you recommend?

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  5 лет назад +1

      Sulz obviously price is a huge factor. The kings will perform better and probably last longer. But at some point you have to look at Jeep mods in a realistic way, how often do you jump or bottom out your Jeep? If you Offroad as a hobby every once in a while then the dv8 will more than suit your needs. If you want to race and wheel hardcore then go with the Kings. In my opinion their are a lot of places on the Jeep where you could use the money saved by going with the DV8. To be short, if you have the money to blow then go with kings, if you want a set of hydraulic bump stops and have some fun on the trails and save some cash go with these.

    You missed one crucial thing during install...you set the new bump to its fully compressed length based on the measurement of an uncompressed polyurethane bump. Those poly bumps will stuff pretty much all the way into the tube they're in. Basically, you lost about an inch or more of wheel travel that you otherwise had with the poly bumps. Looks like you were pretty much maxed out on adjustment, so cutting another inch or so off the mounting tube will get you back to the original travel. At least the way you have it in the video won't damage the shocks, so there's a silver lining at least.

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  5 лет назад

      These poly bumps I had on before were very stiff, and didn’t compress at all. The factory yellow bumps do, I should have mentioned that.

    Really informative video - Plan on either installing these or the KING Bump stops in the next few weeks ( already have the King Res Shocks) - Did you have to Nitrogen Fill ? If so what pressure did you go with ? I read where they say to fill with 200 psi then decrease from there as needed ( this goes for the Kings as they come with no Nitrogen) - any input would be great as info for JK installed Hydraulic Bump stops for the JK is not easily found.

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  5 лет назад

      I’ve never tried that, however you could probably add some nitrogen to make them stiff. However I would be careful because you don’t want to blow the seals

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  6 лет назад

      These are maintainence free as well. To an extent, I’f your jumping it offroad daily then they will need maintaining. But for the average offroader these will last years

    • @JKGearandGadgets

    Hey, new to the Jeep community... I had a question about bumpstops
    So I just purchased my new 2019 rubicon jl....I noticed today that both front bumpstops have like a dark residue on them. Any idea what that is? I can wipe it off with my finger, but just curious what that could be. I did have the Jeep rust proof’d could that be over spray? I’m just throwing it out there. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
