Really interesting deck. I feel this deck can still hold his own given the budget as the CMC is quite low and there's a lot of option to interac agaisn't other player. Well done

Nissa’s pilgrimage, Kodama’s Reach, Cultivate, all three let you yank two basics from deck, ramp one, and hold one. IMO this has been rather invaluable in the deck. Lightning greaves are dirt cheap right now, and give anything free haste at sorcery speed, which has done. A huge amount for mana goobers, while offering protection. Personally I run Geralf’s messenger and plague belcher as ping machines/counter farms, Nyx Weaver also mills at start up and offers reach vs fliers instead of trample. Bloodflow connoisseur is a big brother card to carrion feeder, both of which have massive synergy. Because of Meta I run Big game hunter over fiend hunter. Mire Triton is a 2/1 death touch which gains 2 life mills 2 on ETB for 2 cmc, huge value piece which people don’t want to swing at. Vizier of remedies is super cheap and prevent -1/-1 counters which can give you infinite sac, or allow devoted Druid to spawn infinite mana. A Devoted, vizier, sac outlet, and persist, should net you a multi functioning infinite combo engine for no more than $3. Notably I got my devoted for $.99 in moderate condition.

Wow, these are all solid picks! A few of these I even used in play testing, but ultimately landed with some other picks. I find that meta makes up for some interesting differences when running with a different crew...

I know I’m late but I think you overlooked how good wall of roots, pollenbright druid, and huatli’s raptor. In addition, Saga’s work well with Tayam as they kill themselves naturally and can be recurred afterwards

Wow, those are some good suggestions. I hadn't even thought of the saga's!? Binding of the titans, first iroan games and birth of meletis all seem like solid picks. Nice work Ryan Oak!

Budget Commander I’m actually working on a semi budget build for tayam right now. Binding of the Titans and Iroan Games are both very efficient. Based on differing metas, Soul-Guide Lantern is graveyard hate/draw engine that doesn’t hit your own graveyard. Also I forgot to mention renegade rallier in my original comment but it’s nasty once you get a sacrifice train going.

Geez, Soul-Guide Lantern is SOOO good here! I was actually using Renegade Rallier when I first built the deck but after playtesting I found he wasn't performing for me, although I don't think I had that many sacrifice outlets?! Yeah, I couldn't agree more, I have two different playgroups and one definitely requires more graveyard hate than the other... It's really interesting how peoples personality comes out in their deckbuilding and playstyle!

Budget Commander I have a meren only player so graveyard hate is necessary. Yeah my deck is more sacrifice/rube goldberg machine focused just tinkering around and generating a ton of mana through Ashnod’s Altar or Pawn of Ulamog, while having a saga subtheme.

Rishkahr says: a creature with counter. So also vigilance counters? Which means when you have Riskhar out, allyour creature become mana dorks?
Also with undying and presist: if you remove the counters they will come back to thebattlefield oncethey die right?

Yes and Yes! Nearly your entire team can turn into dorks... you can wait until the end of turn just before you, leaving all your creatures as blockers and tap all your dorks for mana, activating Tayam as many times as possible.
And as longing as an Undying creature doesn't have a +1/+1 counter it will come back when it dies, while a creature with Persist will come back from dying as long as it doesn't have a -1/-1 counter. So as long as you have the mana to remove the counters with Tayam, I think they won't be leaving the battlefield unless they are bounced back to your hand or they are exiled.

A little on the outside of budget... but if you throw a strip mine, wasteland or dust bowl, all of which are rather spendy, the hyper aggressive recursion able land destruction is so dirty and easy, it’s like playing monopoly and uno at the same time. Watch the group self destruct.
