Hi my friend, 73's from Guatemala. Could you tell me what version of firmware you have in your radio. I got the version 1.6.6 but I have some problems programming a repeater in DMR.

Does this go to the 450-520 range, I have read conflicting information?

    Hi Chris,
I'm looking at buying one of these so I'm watching everything on it that's available. I realise that this is one of the few DMR radios that can be programmed from it's own keypad . I can't help feeling that it's a lot easier from your PC though. There's enough memory in the radio to store every UK repeater, especially if you only have one talkgroup (channel) per repeater, analogue repeaters only need one channel anyway. It's possible that programming "on the fly" is useful when working simplex. For me a really useful feature would be programming software and a driver for the Android platform. That way it would be possible to modify and up load codeplugs from a tablet with a Bluetooth keyboard when out and about. Any thoughts.

Neil Fulcher there is a secret so there any DMR radio can be programmed on the fly. I will be mentioning this in the next video. In my tests I have noticed that analogue is not as good on this type of Radio as Ben has mentioned. This only applies to receive. I will be mentioning this in videos to come with a comparison.

Hi Cris from the USA. NO3NO Chris, I found a discrepancy in the manual for the HD1 GPS. I Finally, I fixed it. Now if you have access to a GPS HD1 could you do a video on how to set up the GPS portion, please? Thanks.

Hi Chris, It ;s me again Tom NO3NO. I decided to try letting it sit in the charger for a while more to see what happens. I found that if I rapped on the to of the ON/OFF Volume knob before In turn it on, it behaves as it should. It makes me wonder if Ailunce god a bad bunch of rotary volume knob. I would be interested in what you have to say. 73

Hi Chris, Tom from the U.S.A. NO3NO. I got the second HD-1 and you wouldn't believe it. It had a problem, It would NOT turn on the first time I twisted the knob. The second time it would. I figured that it had some sort of hardware bug so I called Amazon and replaced everything. All good and fine. I sent the second one back via UPS. The third one arrived today and it had the same problem. Damn. Have you heard anything about this happening? I would be interested in whatever you could tell me. Thanks.

@@digitalanaloguehamradio Hi Chris. Mine does it right from after it came off the charger to several hours afterward. Also I noticed that after I have set the time and date, it resets itself to 1970-0-01. I think I'm going to have to send this one back too, unless it can be fixed with a software upgrade. What do you think? 73

@@arthurdent8091 all hd1 radios will do this if not being powered on for a long time. The problem is the internal bios battery. When the radio has been on for a few hours it charges the battery. If you switch the radio on regularly you won't have this problem.
Some more information look on the HD1 Facebook group.

Not to sniff out DMR signals. As for searching I’m not sure I don’t have the radio anymore.
