    Great review Matt do you get any added features from the GPS version i.e does the software take advantage of this or is it just there for giving your GPS location ?

    • @m6ceb
      @m6ceb  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Paul! Thanks for your comment buddy :) In the CPS you can have the radio send the GPS data with the transmission, I am not sure how the GPS feature can work within the Brandmeister network as I have not used that function with it yet, but for an extra $10 you can get the GPS version so if you were ever in trouble climbing or walking for example you could get your GPS Coordinates and give to the emergency services etc.. The radio is well worth the extra in my opinion! Love the radio and use it daily! Best radio ever! Thanks again for your comment buddy I really appreciate it :)

    I would very much appreciate a video providing an in-depth review of the programming software for the HD1. I have an idea based on the info in this video, but I don't know what I could be missing! Thank you.

    I also would very much appreciate a video providing an in-depth review of the programming software for the HD1. And maybe a closer screen shot so that some of us who can't see as well as others can see what is being said. All of us don't have Giant screens hook to our computers. Thank you!

    I have only been on DMR for just over a week and it’s easy to listen and know that it has many issues that are being denied by those pushing DMR.I feel that D-STAR is a far better system but the cost of the gear is it’s biggest enemy. Those pushing DMR can’t keep up with the number of new users & blame the users for the issues they can’t keep up with because it’s easier than admitting they are on overload.

    What good is GPS on this HT or any other HT? I have the HD1 without GPS because I see zero use for a GPS on any radio?

      It allows one radio to send its position digitally to another. Useful for trying to know where another user is (forest, mountain trails). Only problem is that it only sends coordinates. Would be nice if the receiving radio displayed distance and direction to the incoming transmission. Was hoping for a firmware upgrade, but never happened.

    Old video, new comment 2023: for GPS does it do anything like the Anutone and show proximity of the other GPS received related to your position? I’d this just gives coordinates, you need a mobile phone to know where the other person is. That doesn’t seem worth it for the extra money.
    Thanks!

    Hi Matt, currently thinking about the Radioddity GD-77 but would you say it's worth saving a few quid more for this one?

    • @m6ceb
      @m6ceb  6 лет назад +2

      David Turner yes i would definitely save the extra! The gd77 is plagued with issues and I own the gd77 also. This HD1 is hands down the best handheld radio I have ever owned! You will not be disappointed! Thanks so much for your comment buddy :)

      m6ceb Thanks mate. I’ll take your advice and save the extra money for this one 👍 I think you’re just up the road from me actually. Heard you chatting to G0KEN a week or so ago and found you on RUclips after that. Hopefully make contact with you once I get licensed. You a part of any particular club? Having issues trying to get anyone to come back to my emails when trying to contact local clubs regarding taking the Foundation.

    • @m6ceb
      @m6ceb  6 лет назад +1

      Yes I would say that that is the way to do it buddy, this radio is truly amazing and having 10w of power especially if you are going to be using it portable is very handy, I am part of the Thornton Amateur Radio club tcars.moonfruit.com/ I don't go very often but im sure they have a foundation course in June, Email them and see if you can get onto it? 73 buddy and i'm sure I will be chatting to you on air in no time! BTW.. i'm in Freckleton :)
