- ENCHANTED ENGLISH GARDEN & A COTTAGE TOUR IN DORSET// Happy Friday, Today we're sharing Part 2 of our stay at Mapperton House & Gardens. We're touring the gardens which are so romantic and enchanted and we think the video doesn't even do them justice. It's a must see! Joerg and I LOVE topiary and you will see how wonderful it is there. Mapperton just won 'Historic Houses Garden of the Year 2020' and now that we have seen this beautiful place in person, we can really see why. Wisteria is in full bloom now and we were so excited to see the North stable block. It's breathtaking!
We're also sharing the beautiful Garden Cottage that is on the Mapperton Estate and give you a cottage tour! You can rent it via Airbnb. What a setting!

Why are Brits whining about not being able to get on a plane with airborne germs for vacation when the U.K. is paradise ? I only wish I could have spent more time there. What a beautiful place . You are helping to make this ugly pandemic tolerable one video at a time. Others should follow your example and be so thankful for the parks,gardens an other places that can be visited safely.
I would not get on a plane anywhere if I lived in the UK and all it has to offer. One day ... but unlikely because my husband and I are a bit old for overseas travel. It’s why I adore this channel and thank K&J for taking us on their journeys throughout this beautiful country.
@@nancycowan6109 Oh when I was young and thought I would live forever I took a Freddie Laker flight ( precarius)13 hours to London. I fell asleep sitting up (jet lag) in the British Museum. Ha ha. Like you I enjoy local fare now and these lovely videos.
I think Brits like to getaway to get more sunshine.

Wow, Joerg really excelled himself with the beautiful drone footage, he's getting really good. Also, I don't think I've ever seen Joerg smile so much than when he was on the beach in the sunshine, can you imagine if he'd had a sausage roll as well🌞😁👍

Julie is living a life that most of us could only dream of. Such a gorgeous home and gardens and she is so enthusiastic, warm and welcoming. What a wonderful visit.
I can't look at it through rose colored glasses. It is simultaneously heavenly and vulgar given that the peasants were forced to pay the taxes that built it while the wealthy paid none.
This garden is like a fairytale ! A beautiful dream

I agree @creolelady182. I could identify where I had "been" with Julie during her tours and multiple videos. :-) They have not had any aerial footage, so that just added even more to the feeling of a wonderful manor home.

In the south of the US there is a love /hate feeling for wisteria as it can be SO very invasive. Looks gorgeous yet can pull down a barn or porch and choke a tree!

What a beautiful garden, however I do not envy the gardeners with all that topiary to trim!!!. I watched a film not long ago called "Chesil Beach", and it was filmed down there. I think it is lovely to live in the countryside, where you can hear nothing but birds. Great video.
Steven, their head gardener, does an outstanding job that's for sure. It's a lovely lovely place.

Every morning, when I see a new blossom, I feel happy, and it automatically brings a smile to my face. In other words, it makes my day. I make sure to take plenty of pictures of my garden flowers and other plants because they are so shortlived. They spread happiness and then dry out, but their beauty is captured in my photographs forever

Wunderschön🥰 genau das liebe ich ja an England, wenn ich dort bin. Die Countryside, die Gärten und Anwesen. England ist mehr als nur London und auch wenn ich London sehr mag, ist es nicht "alleine" was England ausmacht, sondern soviel mehr. Ich bin immer gerne zu Besuch in England😊
Das sehen wir auch so, London ist tatsächlich nicht wirklich England (wenn du weißt, wie ich es meine), es ist sehr kosmopolitisch, was toll ist und was wir auch lieben aber wenn man das Land wirklich kennenlernen will, muss man wirklich raus und die Countryside erkunden.

Your vlogs are spectacular. Drone footage captured everything beautifully. What a perfect place to spend the weekend. Views of the ocean so stunning and the gardens are something out of a fairytale...feeling so nostalgic and pray hubby can get a job transfer to the UK from the US! I can’t believe I left the UK to move overseas! Even during the toughest parts of lockdown there was always a little place to visit and enjoy there in England..The Montagues have been such wonderful hosts. I am wondering if you got the chance to ask Julie how she managed to adjust so well to British life, I still have not adjusted in the US after 20 years!! Thank you

Wow! As you say - beyond words! I first really became aware of Mapperton through Robert O'Byrne's lovely book Romantic English Homes. These truly old places that somehow sit so perfectly within their grounds are breathtakingly beautiful.
There's real magic in the air in the West Country.
This was FABULOUS! Such an enchanting garden and historic home. Loved your lunch and walk by the sea. Alway enjoy your visits to the grand estates.. This was the best.

Chesil Beach is somewhere I haven't been and it looks stunning . We live in a beautiful world and in these busy times we need to sometimes just sit and take it all in . I love your enthusiasm for nice places Kirsten ,your face is a picture of happiness when you see beautiful places and lovely objects that it rubs off on me ,and I feel cheered by it . The drone ,I think , enhances your videos by giving us a bird's eye view of the areas you visit . We are visiting Charmouth in Dorset again this year for the 16th year. You must visit other areas down there, Beer, Westbay, Lyme Regis and so many beautiful Dorset villages. This was great.

Beautiful video. I haven’t been much to Dorset since I was a kid, and it’s on my list of places to visit. But I have a bit of a long uk list of places. With covid though I do not mind staying in United Kingdom to see more of my home country than going abroad at present. Not going away anywhere this year but plan to have holidays away from home in ramsgate in 2022.
I love visiting historical old houses etc so visiting mapperton will be on my list. Xx have a lovely bh weekend. We plan a day out to Deal tomorrow and can not wait. Love to you both xxx

When I searched for the beach I noticed that it must have been Hive Beach not Chesil Beach, is that right?
