There are several prominant figures in the bible (especially the Old testament) that comitted suicide. Samson and Saul are two that come to mind right away.
For those who feel he should've been nominated for an Oscar for this, I agree. I did look up his list of awards on Wikipedia. In 1993 he did win an award for Best Actor for Dracula, but it was a Saturn Award. I'm grateful he got even ONE award for this from somewhere. He deserved it.

The love of my life kills herself thinking I'm dead when I'm not and on arrival I'm told she'll burn in Hell for it. I'd be fucking pissed too. How insensitive.
This happens in real life as well sadly. I've heard tales of grieving family members of suicides actually being told that their loved one is in hell. Thankfully I've never experienced it with my loved one's that took their own lives. If I did I would be all up in said clergymens face in quick order.
Interesting, the vampire armor in Witcher 3 looks exactly the same as Dracula's. I wonder if it's an homage to the film, or if they both got it from somewhere.

I once saw another movie of someone crying out for help with a note attached to an arrow. It went like "I have been imprisoned by my father, who wishes me to marry against my will. Please, please come and rescue me." Turned into a huge blood bath
I never understood the concept of mortal sins. When Jesus conferred the Priesthood onto his disciples he specifically said whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven. If the priest absolved Elizabeta from the sin of suicide she would go to heaven right?
I don't believe that suicides are damned. What sort of merciful and loving God would make a person who already found their life on earth so unbearable that they ended it, suffer still more by damning them to hell? I believe that suicides are met at the pearly gates with kindness and compassion, and helped to heal from their suffering, before finally entering the garden of heaven.
