- I filmed this awesome video live, on the front row, during the Museum of Appalachia Fall Homecoming. Close to the end of the performance, we didn't know what was coming when a talented clog dancer started shaking the whole barn. He almost danced the barn down...literally! (buck dancing)

I love this! It brings back great memories. My daddy was a fine fiddle player. One night he and his buddies were pickin n grinnin when ole Bobby jumped up and started doing the jig. His shoe flew off. Bobby let out a laugh then his dentures came flying out! I was only about 10 years old then but I still laugh about it. Those good old boys are all pickin in heaven now.
That clogger is known "Long Legs" and is terrific. He's from Kentucky and a good friend of mine. Have always admired his ability to move like that.
Bruce White
Yeah, I've seen him all around Louisville, Lexington, Vine Grove, etc. That's quite a cardio workout!
does he like a drink
he is GREAT!
That was Brilliant to watch..Even though i have lived in the U.S for nearly 20 yrs now,I was born in London,UK but my parents were from County Kerry,🍀Ireland🍀 And loved Traditional Irish and Bluegrass Music&Dance..My Aunt who lives in Cali(She was 99 in June)Well her Grand Daughter is the lead Dancer in the "Riverdance"Show..And is the only Non native Irish Girl to become the North American and World Irish Champ..
You should post more vids of him dancing...couldn't stop smiling!
My father called square dancing when I was 8 years old, taught me how Im 73 still dancing, How I miss him😢
Great memory. Thank you
Masters at their craft, all of them ... including the clogger! The joy of making good music never ends no matter the age. IMPRESSIVE!
Oh thank the Good Lord this is still alive and going! This is as real as it can get. Such talented musicians and that wonderful clogger at the end. Thank you all.
He waited for every one else to do their solo, then it was his turn.
God bless ALL of them!! I could listen to these guys jam all day long. That dancer at the end was the perfect ending to this video...
Jam??? Wadaboot the peanie butter??? :P
This is a fundamental part of America - just like C&W, Country Rock, Bluegrass, the Blues, R & B, R & R, Jazz, Tap dancing, Boogie Woogie etc etc. Love it.
Ohhhh my Mammaw and Pappaw used to dance like this when I was a kid! 13 of us grandkids tried it too! What fun memories! Smiling through the tears! You folks are awesome! 😂
These old men are real pros, thanks guys. I am from Australia.
Hello Mate 👋
This was awesome. That guy was very good. And if you look at his arms you can tell he probably actually works for a living, and I would bet you might not want to mess with him. Great music and great clogging.
There’s a proven fact that when listening to good music that your feet just can’t behave themselves 😂👍
He'd done had alllll he could take!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸Absolutely Magnificent Love ❤️ for y’all
It's funny, my feet were tapping as a read this!! Whooo Hoooooo!!!!!!! I love good music!!
I was wondering what was wrong with my foots
Spot on
Wow! That was fantastic. Some deep American culture -- and amazing music -- and dancing. Thank you gentlemen.
Us country folks knows what good music is. Y'all was all awesome.
Even a city slicker like me loves it!
Amen
This is where the Greats learn their riffs, chords and picking.! The really good ones!
Listening to them in the bush of australia luv it
Kick ass !
What a great band. Thank you for keeping our heritage alive.
That wasn't hilarious, That was "COOL" I loved it. I could watch that all day!
I thought the same thing !
I got the fever ... and the only prescription is more cloggin’
This is the music I grew up with. Just can’t keep the feet still or the hands from clapping. Especially with such a fine playing of Orange Blossom Special!
(from Bolivia)
different music for me but as Dick Clark / American Bandstand used to say : if it's got a beat then the people love to dance to it !
This makes me miss home, East TN, so bad. I just want to go back home and see nothing but mountains.
Fortunately I live near Kansas City and there are still a large number of people who play this kind of music. Many of them can't read a lick of music but they can really play. Thank goodness I get to hear them.
Decades ago I attended a 25th anniversary party thrown for an aunt and uncle. After the "polite" band finished playing for the party, the real band came out; fiddles, guitars, an actual washtub bass and an old whiskey jug. Never had so much fun in my life.
I'm here for the fiddle playing ❤️ I love the music and heritage and pride that lives in my state of Tennessee!
One of the finest Mtn. Style Dancers anywhere. I’ve seen him many times in person. Great guy too!
For real tho the fiddler was killing that orange blossom special
Excellent, I heard the train a coming!
I grew up down the road from this place and went there often when I lived in the area. A wonderful place to see the Foxfire book skills put to practical use and understanding. And my Uncle Ira Abbott was one of the best buck dancers I've ever met. Buck dancers aren't taught. They just naturally get that movement. Enjoyed this video immensely!
Raised with bluegrass LOVE to see people enjoying the greatest music on earth
I am primarily Germanic European......but in the immortal words of “American Pie” something touches me deep inside whenever I hear Bluegrass music 🎻
I used to watch my mother clog dance. High energy dancing. You do much of that and the pounds will fall off.
C
This is what happens when a yeller jacket flies up your pant leg!
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 😹
'Yeller' ha ha
Probably how it started.
I was waiting and waiting for the dancer show up and damn near gave up thinking this sucks......man am I glad I hung in there. That ol boy sure could hammer the floorboards! WHOOOOWEEE!
God I love great blue grass music. They are all incredible!😍
I'm LMAO!! The fiddle player rocked, and the clogger filled my heart with pure joy!!; Good stuff here!! Kudos to ya'll!! ♡♡♡
That man clog dancer is brilliant and talented. I sure wish we could see more of him.
Oh how I love this! Grew up clogging and to this exact kind of music. This fellas impromptu dance solo was excellent! 😁🎶😄
EVERY single time - I smile and think "This is what it is supposed to happen"...thank you so much!
Greetings from Australia and yee...ha my American friends! This is so good that any sourpuss hearing it would surely crack a smile!
Good day Mate!
* Yee-Haw
When are they coming to adelaide?
@Nim Boo LOL! All Americans don't say Yeah Hah!
@@rhondaboncutter5812 And its not all that common to hear an Aussie say "Gidday mate".
love this!!!! Heart and soul of America. Wish I was there watching. Wish I could dance like that guy even more!
It is not hilarious to those of us who are fortunate enough to have heard this music played first hand. It is exciting, and I dare you not to tap those toes!
That’s not “hilarious”. It’s “amazing”. That dancer has the rhythm on LOCK. Perfect.

I'm with you on that....some of the best.
Then I guess nothing can.
Amen to that! Worked for me.
Well, it put one on mine! That was a fantastic performance by all of them! I love it.

Blue Grass is still real music played on real instruments with real people singing real songs with real harmonies...and doing a real. real good job...and having fun doing it..!!

I'm Irish I think its awesome!
Laughed out loud! He is GREAT and loved the music too!
At the risk of sounding corny, this music speaks to my soul.(Englishman)

It's great American music
That's what good music does you all have some over there that I absolutely love
Not corny, its absolutely soul inspiring. (Native American) lol!

Steve Gulley and band, I so thoroughly enjoyed this music. Thank you for sharing. Now I’m going to see what else you have in video. God bless you all. Keep em coming to us.
that guy should get a medal lol ... that's how you make an entrance.
It does matter where the dancing comes from, this is real America.
Right! In the south we are surrounded by music.. it’s like it’s in our soul and bones and the fresh air we breathe!
made in america with white folks invented tools
Origins from immigrants brought from Europe though. But truly an American treasure as it has evolved into something new and very fun to watch!
By day he hauls pulp wood. By night he becomes Clog Man.
He just could not take it sitting down any longer...LOVE clog dancers, so much energy. And I am Puerto Rican!
These old timers can play mean instruments. WOW. The clog dancer at the end actually was pretty darn good. Super fun video to watch.
In a music mood this morning. This song ALWAYS makes me want to dance.
''Orange blossom", il love this song...!!!
dan tonfion orange blossom special. Took me a minute but I knew I heard it somewhere before.......
Classic
Thank you 🙏🏻
When you're a feelin it, you got to make it happen!
Truly amazing! Love listening to Orange Blossom Special! You guys did great!
That's a combined age of musical talent of about 200 years, no wonder they're so good!
The clog dancer did what any person would do for a band without drums, he added percussion!
PTL, GREAT SOUND, SOME CRAIC, WHEN MOON SHINE FLOWS.... WHAT A DANCER⭐🌟⭐🌟🎻🎻🎻💙❤💚💛💜💓😙
God Bless America 🇺🇸
Dang!
That was some mighty dang fine fiddlin' and pickin', toe tappin', boot stompin', knee slappin' music right there.
That feller's feet got some talent too. Old boy made that dance floor happy.
YEE HA!
Heyyyyyyyyy
I am writing from western South America, Ecuador is my country and Guayaquil is my city name we grew up listening during the 70S this kind of music
Audacious. Brilliant. Took my breath away.
That was great. That banjo player was superb. But all were so good. Real music on real instruments. Hell yeah!
howard mckenna the banjo player is my uncle
YOU BET! LOVED IT!!!
AND A REAL DANCER
fiddle and banjo were both good. I love the sound of them together.
howard mckenna
A group of veterans having a ball
The dancer was fantastic! More please!
I called this dance the Tennessee stomp. My Mamma was from Nashville and did do something similar. Like a Coal Miners Daughter, Lorettas Momma also did it. I think it's so cool. Brings back wonderful memories.
I can sit and listen to this music all day.
One of the best musicians in the bunch (not to disparage the instrumental PHENOMENAL TALENT) This is a form of dancing from the mountain country that is getting lost in our modern times. GREAT JOB! Crying shame all of this is lost to our youth of today that only want loud electronically enhanced studio dubbed music. Even concerts are being lip-sinced. What a shame this is becoming a lost art.
Only thing I’ve clogged lately are my arteries.
Doc Bailey This comment wins the Internet.
Doc Bailey funny funny funny!!!!!
Doc Bailey 😂😂😂
Doc Bailey aint that the truth. Im a Clogger too😀😀😀
All you need is mason jar moonshine. ..clean up them arteries. ...
Wow those guys can play ... great job... and as for the young chap dancing he was superb! ... Just an awesome video from start to finish. Thank you
That was to good .good old boys. Showing how it's done
The sound of those boots clogging before he enters the picture was sooo funny “bom, bom, bom”
That clogger has great rhythm with those feet. Beautiful!
Such fun! The band picked up the beat when the clogger began. I love this!
Of course the guy is in overalls! Ha! Sounds just like any kitchen on a Saturday night growing up in New Brunswick..
Oh man, loved the ending! Put a huge smile across my face!
One of the best versions of OBS that I've heard! And the clogging made it that much better.
If you've never clogged to mountain music, you really are missing out no joke. 🎻 🎶
He got happy feet😂 loved it!
The 925 thumbs down must be city slickers. Great music and dancing.
Thumbs down could be in reply to the post calling it hilarious vs a job well done.
When you successfully make 30 barrels of moonshine
Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏👏 I'll be honest the warm up was like getting junior to get up on a Saturday morning to go mow the yard. But once they got going ? The rooster was to darn too late. I loved it.👍
that old guy cracks me up when he starts cloggin across the floor great playing from the old guys xlent!
Thank you!😃😃😃hello from Austria
I should have nailed my feet to the floor, before I watched this upload. Fantastic!
He is good but in my opinion he didn't steal the show because those guys are some damn good musicians and trust me it's a lot harder to learn to play those instruments than it is to dance!
A slice of Americana!!!
Amazing
Hope they pass it on to the kids.
Makes me think of 'O brother, where art thou'! :-) Fabulous talent, and the dancer at the end tops it off...brilliant!
Shuffle step rock step! I used to clog and I really miss it. Wish this kind of music was in Chattanooga!
Love love love the older gents with their wonderful music, the clogger was a bonus
For some strange reason I feel like running real fast through the woods
Bare foot wearing torn overalls and a floppy fishin hat.
@Kelly BrinaAHAHAHAHAHAHH

Scarlet Panther with the theme from Deliverance playing in the background?
...chasing a beautiful girl (that I know of course)

Love this!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️He can’t stop his feet from clogging!
Gotta love this music.
You guys rock. Then the guy starts his thing and you lot can’t stop smiling 😊😀😂 xx

Thought I was watching George Clooney in ‘Brother where art thou’ when the Clogger came on. I love it.
Thumbs up for a well played cover of a great tune in a very nice venue. Glad the building didn't fall from the gentlemen clogger as I can share his sentiments haha Thanks for the upload!
What’s the Greek word for that feeling when the music is SO good you HAVE to get up and dance?
Nothing but happy music ! Outstanding ! 👍👍👍👌🇺🇲
