I'm 60 years old and I still love Renaissance Fairs. I smith heavy plate armor and chainmail pieces and go out of my way to look the part of the 'gruff olde smithee'! I'm so glad to see you enjoyed your first trip and hope you'll have many, many, more! Your outfit was really cute, btw!
@@jacyhosts Hon, I've been attending the faire's a little longer than you've been alive. Keep going because you'll love it. Very positive atmosphere and I've very rarely came across any troublemakers!
As someone who has worked at Ren Faires for decades, your outfit was very nice. Trifting is a great way to pick up pieces to upcycle into garb. Dressing up for Ren Faires makes it a little more fun. I met and married my husband of over 30 years at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. Together we have done almost everything except court. He sort of did court as a queen's guard for 4 years. I prefer the fight shows we did with friends. Now we're working a friend's booth and enjoying time with her.
I'm mad jelly because we don't get Ren Faires here in Europe. However, as a cosplayer, DAMN GURL, that outfit looks super nice 👍 And it's so charming to see someone falling into this thing =3
My mum and I used to go twice a year in Europe! There are a couple throughout the year in France, Belgium, Netherlands and one of the biggest ones in Germany! I am not sure about the rest of Europe but there should definitely be more! :)
in europe, they're usually called medieval faires (marchés médiévaux in french) and as commented, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and France have a good spread of them beteen may and october.
Your outfit looks great! I love the way it all came together and that you kept adjusting until you had a look you were excited about ❤ It looked like you had a great time exploring the faire
Girl, you did great!!!! Love everything about this vid, your costume, the budget, everything! And your awesome personality shines too; thanks for the tips, tricks and inspo!
I loooved the outfit! Really impresive what you did on a budget. Your brother and his girlfriend looked amazing, too! The faire looked like so much fun ✨
It's funny, when you said you only had 2 weeks to get a costume together, I thought, eh, you can find one in an afternoon of thriftimg if you get a bit lucky. Sure enough! I go to a different faire, but a lot of the acts travel, so it was fun to see old favorites!
23:29 lol they picked me back in 2019 in AZ and it was hilarious. I was the last guy standing and they had me shirtless and chasing one of the girls through the audience 😅
I'm 55 and getting ready to go to my first renfaire in 2 weeks. My outfit is just a simple corseted dress with an apron. I hope to purchase a head wreath at the faire. My character is a matchmaker named "Dorabelle, Belle for short. so excited. Even more after watching your video
better then my first one, i wore a red dress (bright bright red) with tiny flowers on it (fabric),elf ears (amazon) and a fake flower crown from just a local shop, LOOKING BACK IT WASNT THE BEST BUT URS IS AMAZING
Macy, I really enjoyed watching you at the Renaissance faire, My granddaughter is getting ready to go in October and we needed ideas for the costume. We Thrifted all the pieces for her outfit from Goodwill. I’m making her purse/pouch from a suede jacket I bought for $5.99. I will also gift her a pair of elf ears, because they looked so cute on you! Thank you for sharing, ❤❤Judy❤❤
"But, I don't want to be a pirate."- Jerry Seinfeld 😂 Your outfit came together great, you look awesome and cute! You have such a FUN personality. Have a great time!
this looks so fun!!! would love to see more you and rocky content or something like a dating q&a doing long distance! i have to go away a couple states for school and doing long distance with my SO is giving me so much anxiety :(
You looked beautiful girly!!! And that's good good that you made that costume yourself, you did out standing! I love your videos so much and can't wait to see what's next Lots of love from Scottsdale!❤❤❤❤
The camera quality of the images was great, the mic sound wasn't that bad. I finally just got rid of my chunky necklaces. Your interviews were great! And the best part was the man playing two recorders with his nostrils!
I’m also turning 30 later this year 😬 haha I don’t know if I’m ready lol enjoyed the vlog! I’m going to my first ren faire in 2 weeks and I can’t wait 😁
I know this video is from last year but I just found it and you're making me miss faire so much! Also, your brother will never be picked by the wenches because he goes in garb! They only pick normies!! 🖤🖤
Thanks for sharing! I started volunteering at my local Ren Faire/their float in the Christmas light parade here in AZ because "why not?" Best decision I've made. What Faire did she go to? Also, new sub!
Did they give you any problems with bringing the tripod in? Im going to vlog this year at Renfaire but I read online they dont allow tripods. Not sure what that entails. Im worried about not being able to get through security with my camera 🤣
I’ve been getting fed ren fair content and it makes me want to go to you and check it out. Do you guys think it would be fun to go alone as a single guy or so you need to go with friends to have a good time? Also should I wear a costume on my first time or do some people go in street clothes?
Ren fairs are cool but here in Michigan it's all about the money, unless your gonna watch one of a few shows put on its like 90% sales, sales, sales.....and way overpriced, 17 dollars this year for two small hotdogs 🤣 And before you go for the "duuhhh, if you can't afford it" nonsense I can afford it, I have money cause I'm not stupid and waste it. Many people there don't have a lot though and everyone should be able to at least secure a fking water without risking half a weeks pay. Hopefully I'll get to go to another one someday cause they may be better elsewhere but besides checking out the costumes ours is a cash grab joke....and save your tears, I don't read replies from the ignorant masses

I’m 63 and I still “garb up” and go to Renaissance Faires. It’s my favorite thing to do. My home Faire is my home away from home ❤️

You have to go more than once. They are really fun
Have you heard about LARP? I think your brother and his girlfriend would be very happy to bring their characters to live and actually play them! 🙂
It’s insane that you thrifted all of that. You’re really creative

Dont know a thing about the faire but you're beautiful I know that. Great outfit and style. Love it.

you sure do grin a lot... which, considering you've probably got the finest set of teeth ever, is definitely pleasant to see !
