A friend just gave me a quarter (2000 Maryland) he thought was strange and he asked me to see if I could find any information about it. It is missing the clad layer like the coin shown in your video (at 2:49 min.). When I compared it to a normal quarter of the same year I noticed immediately that it was light in weight. I had to use my reloading scale to measure their weights. A normal quarter weighed 88 grains, but the missing clad quarter weighed just 73 grains. The normal quarter was also thicker. It was .066 inch, while the missing clad coin was just .056 inch thick. The coin is circulated and has some scratches, but is in pretty good shape. I suspect it might be wise to have it professionally graded and sealed in a proper container.
I've been going through quarters like a madman....no W!!! Going to get more today, after I get done with this box of Lincoln's. Keep doing what you do

I have various in-collar double and Multi-Strikes and die clash strikes from cents to quarters.
That I have discovered and stored away over the past ten yrs. You think it would be worth my time and money to start sending them in to be slabbed? I have been spending a lot of time on my fossil preparations and need to get back to examining my coins. 👍

if there's a copper mark on the side of the coin then it's not silver
but if there's no copper mark then it's silver

Mostly shoe coins we will never come across. Hardly ever errors that are in circulation. Clipped planchets and missing sides are common Sense.
