In one vintage clip, Michael Learned said all she had to do was react to Richard Thomas in turning in a steller performance. Olivia Walton was one of the most interesting characters on the show. I always liked to watch her react to everything. Just how much was Liv willing to put up with from the other Waltons? I watch The Waltons everyday on ME TV and it is a best part of my day! Forget 'family values" or 'wholesome TV", the show is plain compelling. A+ Emmy so well deserved. I was likely cheering at my TV screen if I saw this back when...

However, everyone makes mistakes, but at the same time, I believe it's important to learn how to pronounce peoples' names _correctly._ A person's name is very important because it is a part of their identity. Not only that, but our names are our first gift given to us by our parents, who put a lot of thought and consideration into what they were going to name us. Pronouncing somebody's name is also a show of respect for that person. I am a stickler when it comes to correctly pronouncing somebody else's name because our names are so important. I remember one time when I worked in this bakery, one of my co-workers was a young girl from Palestine and her name is Hermein, pronounced like, her mean. Now, I'm not sure about the spelling of her name, but I remember how her name is pronounced. After posting here, I will look up this name on Google to see whether or not I got the spelling of that name correct. If not, I will come back here and make the correction. O.K, folks, so this is what is coming down: Michael Learned frets over pouring coffee and being too nice on The Waltons, only she never is. Perspective, Olivia. As warm as her character can be, the actress has this wonderful, nature edge that makes her most ordinary of behaviors interesting. Of all the Waltons she is the one to watch. In another interview Michael compliments Richard Thomas, saying that as Oliva, all she has to do is react to him to turn in an effective performance. React she does. To everything. Dispite a great marriage and beloved children Olivia has a restlessness to her the audience always feels. Once she had the opportunity to be the head of a globe trotting fashion house but she turned it down to stay on Waltons mountain. Another time she was so needing of change she cut her beautiful hair and had it permed like Shirley Temple. Now she HAD to hide on the mountain. In that particular episode, the audience knew Olivia's hair would grow back by next week, but the ultimate dilemma of her restless spirt had not been solved....
