That's awesome! Definitely interested to see if they work. It would mean that we could actually read books rather than listening to audiobooks. Or actually read male and private documents without the assistance of other people more easily.

Yes, that would be really great. However, I don't know if we're there yet. Maybe soon, but not quite yet.

I would love to hear your thoughts on it! I had some friction and haven't tried it out again as I've had a lot on my plate.

@@carrieonaccessibility I've only played with it for a few minutes, and had some successes with reading test and describing things around me, but also had some questions. I've emailed the team with my findings so far, also around using it out and about.

Honestly I heard you had issues. I love them, I’ve been using them for a day and they work great. No problem setting them up either.

    Hi Carrie.
I’m so glad that you got the Celeste glasses. I just finished watching the podcast that you had with the CEO of the classes. I look forward to hearing about your review and what you think. Just sad that you’re not going to be doing a live unboxing of the glasses. How do you become a member? Is it expensive?
As for the price of the glasses, I really think it’s much cheaper than the or cam and the envision glasses for sure. Yes it is a subscription but I would rather pay $50 a month Which would equal $600 a year versus paying $4200 I mean $400-$4200 or $3500. So. And if you think about the fact that each the or cam and the Envision glasses both have a payment plan that you can do, you would still be paying over $100 each month until you paid it off.
But I do agree with you though as I would like to find out more how the subscription works.
Hope you and your son are doing well and your family also. Sending all of you my love and a great big hug.
Thank you Carrie for all the awesome videos that you do

Can't wait to hear what you think of the Vision Pro! I'm particularly interested in knowing if it's usable for people with tunnel vision and RP. I'm guessing it isn't for people with tunnel vision, because the screen is right in fron of your eyes.

I'm really excited. I can't wait for mine to come in. Right now, it says end of February, but we'll have to see! :D

I want to check out Meta Ray-Ban Wayfarer (Large) Smart Glasses. I’m hoping it will let you access everything hands-free…… imagine connecting it to Be My Eyes, Aira and everything else! I think it’s cool what these glasses do but as you pointed out, I don’t like to subscription protocol….. I’m getting more and more into Universal design…

Yes, it would be really neat. However, I've heard the these can be really limited. you may be able to get the audio onto the glasses, but the apps need to support using an external camera. I'm not sure how well or if they do that...

Odd it takes so long to find something but this is all it would take to replace the OrCam or other exspensive devices. A hands free accesory would open up options with Be My eyes, Aira, Seeing AI, FaceTime and a number of different things…….@@carrieonaccessibility I am curious to see what come of the Apple Vision as well because I think some of the Visual stuff will be a bust, but the refresh rate “see through” option is interesting for certain eye conditions like Anarida and Achromatopsia as we can do different things with filters and Mag. There are a lot of exstra things with these conditions and age that will affect us,. Also eye and hand motion detection / operating is yet another input option that will have additional gestures for normal vision and voiceover and Talkback users.

So how do you feel that all these items, such as the Celeste, are only available for IOS?

It is pretty unfortunate that it's only available on iOS. I'm not very happy about it and I have told the developer so.
