      Haha. Actually that was another time. It happens quite often actually. LOL! There's another blooper that I decided not to include here that I'll upload later. Lol.

    Great review! Personally, I'm using Samsung Galaxy 5 Pro. I'm totally blind and I like it; works great with Pixel 7. TalkBack is sometimes a bit slow, but it's not bad. The battery lasts a few days at least (even if I'm doing workouts and wearing it at night; the real killer is GPS). Anyway; it has a lot of features, but if you want to use the blood pressure and ECG sensors you'll need to sideload some apps... unless you have a Samsung phone - then you're set

      @carrieonaccessibility  7 месяцев назад +1

      A lot of people aren't familiar or comfortable with side loading. I can totally do that, but it's also just feels out of my way. lol. But thank you for your kind words! Talkback is usable, but can be really frustrating. I'm hoping Google keeps improving it.

    "vibrate on edge" will vibrate the watch in situations when moving the screen while magnified. It helps by telling you there's no point in keeping on trying because you have hit the edge. Very useful on triple tap and hold where you can avoid slipping your finger over the edge since this feature alerts you to stop. Tha's how I see it designed...

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  2 месяца назад

      Thanks for explaining that! However, I did think that it might be something like that and it does not seem to work on my watch. For some reason it's not vibrating when I'm at the edge. Interesting

      @@carrieonaccessibility Hi Carrie! I'm using 1st gen. There is a vibration BUT now I notice there's actually no vibrating on triple tap and hold (sorry about the confusion). Try to tripe tap, release, then slide on the screen with one finger to re-position till the edge. It should work this way. Because of the small screen I rarely use triple tap and hold anyways as I have huge fingers 😀, so I prefer to release and slide

    Good review. In general my experience matches yours. I have found the latest software updates really improved the battery performance and responsiveness of the first generation watch. I'd be curious how that translates to the second iteration.

      Generally the pixel watch 2 is much better, but the battery life is still hard. I have to charge it every day... but it does last me through the day, so I guess I can't complain. I've just resigned myself to the fact that its one of the devices I have to make sure to charge every day....

    Hi Carrie, please can you do an accessility review on the apple watch, I heard that it can be used with voice over

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, it can use voiceover. Overall, it's pretty good actually. I might be able to do it maybe on the next apple watch that comes out... Lots of videos to do. haha. :)

      @@carrieonaccessibility I love your videos! Where can I find 11 labs? You said that I can listen to the AI voices on it. By the way, I got seeing AI on my Braille Note! I finally installed it! I've been testing it out with my whatsapp images on the device storage and its so good!

    Just to let you know, about the text to speech voice, have successfully gotten Espeak, RHVoice, and vocalizer TTS to all work flawlessly and fast on the pixel watch 2. Is there any way to get the Pixel watch 2 to read seckonds? Like, 12 35 PM and 42 seckonds?
    Also, the only inaccessible thing I can find is changing the darn band. Do you have any tips on how to successfuly do this with out sighted asistence? Also, I am only half way through the video so will watch the rest.

      @carrieonaccessibility  7 месяцев назад

      Wait, wait, wait. Hold on. You changed the voice?? Really? Seriously? We need to talk. LOL! I did not know you could do that. I didn't even see a text to speech option on the watch at all. How? Please do tell!

    Hmm. It would be still wearing a watch though. I would probably end up knocking it into too many things like my ordinary watches. I ended up just putting my talking watches on the loop of my cane. wearing them kind of gave me a rash. I don't know what my deal is.

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  7 месяцев назад +1

      OH, I can see that. I mean, I have to take mine off here and there because it can irritate your skin if you wear it non stop. plus, I wear mine very loose. But yeah... it's probably not that great if it bangs around too much. :D

    • @dontmindbeingblindd

      I used to get rashes all the time from both my Apple Watch, and now my pixel watch. I have completely remedied the issue by not wearing silicone bands, and cleaning the back of the watch once in a while. I have a really great nylon band that does not give me a rash. I do not believe this is the fault of Apple or Google, my skin just doesn’t like silicone lol

    • @splashesin8
      @splashesin8 7 месяцев назад

      @@dontmindbeingblindd I think that's it with me. Some kind of latex allergy or finishing product of the silicone. It used to not be that way, until sometime around 1990-ish. Ironically the first thing I noticed any thing like that happening with was after I had worn a new band of safety goggles to try to work under my old junker car that was no joke, being held together with bailing wire, (as in hay baling wire). That's why I wore the protective goggles. Fit like a SCUBA mask. Anyway, a line, where the shape of the mask fit to my face, began to burn and itch, but mostly burn, and got worse like a deep chemical type of burn layer after layer of skin for three weeks, before it started to get better. I felt like a crazy person because on the package from the car part store, it said: Non-toxic, Safety Goggles.
      Around that same time I also had the microwave popcorn lung problem too, out of the blue, if I just even was two aisles over from that small section of Walmart. Always had the little air popper at school, that had the little metal cup compartment that you could melt the butter in. I guess it turns out usually to be some plant hybridization that would have been great in one aspect of the product except for the one serious drawback. Eventually after a few years. some of that stuff hybridizes out in the plant biology and it goes back to being tolerable without anaphylaxis again. Thank goodness because it was hard shopping for other stuff in the same aisles as the sudden shock producing stuff. Had to hold my breath in the commercial bread aisle and near the Subway shops, for about 7 years, just feel for and grab the olives, or the school supplies that were somewhere halfway into the shared aisle. Now that I have talked about popcorn, I'm thinking of making some for breakfast. 🤣 Like I can still chew it. 😂What I really want is real butter sautéed jalapeños with the seed pods removed. So maybe I will just do that and scramble the easy little pint of eggs in a milk carton with the jalapeños & butter. Sorry for the stream of consciousness. I just woke up, and am thinking of how to start wearing my old favorite jewelry with different necklaces and bands. :)
