Tiberian Sun & Red Alert 2 were the golden era for C&C - Generals extended that a little along with C&C3. RE3 should have been excellent but was ultimately just OK - & now, the 30FPS engine lock makes it feel jagged and slow.
I yearn for those heady days
This is exactly why I play video games in my 30's, purely for the hit of nostalgia. It's like a drug that nothing else can replace.

I didn't play this game THAT much, for some reason I didn't like it as much as the previous or the following games in the series. But seeing it now in action...nostalgia.
One thing I remember and I don't know why I used to think that, I was not a fan of the FMV in this game. No idea why. I loved and still love FMV in games since my first such game back in 1994. Weird.

im having problems with the resolution and whatnot when i try playing ealier C&C games (Tiberian Sun and RA2) on my current computer - Not sure why but it seems like many people are facing similar issues
I'm guessing EA didn't bother doing any compatibility checks on modern systems before releasing it on Steam. Just another shameless attempt to milk this once-great franchise if you ask me.

You are wrong ;-) (that sounds better), you can set bigger resolution then 800x600 ... edit sun ini or download installer from cnc-comm, its was patched by community many years ago, added online functionality and you can set whatever resolution you want, I have 1280x 720, which is exactly half of my 2k (2560x1440) resolution , and its already quite small, i cant understand, how people play it on full hd resolution... btw you skipped side mission ;-)
