I started filming smth small with my friends and when we come to the editing part I firstly, before all the editing work, asked 'what's the meaning? What's the story?' so it helped us to catch the vibe that we wanted to create while editing. And watching this video of you Jordan and Ab6ix I'm shouting inside me: "Jordan is the best teacher in editing!"

This was really cool!! It made me realize how much trust everyone working on an MV has to put in all the other professionals involved, from the songwriter and producers, to choreographers, stylists, set designers, to the idols themselves, the director, editors.... a whole bunch of people that do their part not really knowing 100% what the final result is gonna be. I mean I guess that kinda goes for several types of jobs but it's nice watching the idols acknowledging the other professionals lol

I wish you could see their Close MV. The CG fish in that video is amazing and I think the director taps into a lot of surrealism. They even have Salvador Dali’s melting clock hidden somewhere in that MV.

like Daehwi mentioned Korean MV directors are oftentimes also participating in the editing process and I think that is one of the features that really makes kpop mvs stand out since the stories and ideas of the director are also being conveyed by the editing itself, so the goal of those directors-editors is not only to edit the video to look good but also to really flesh out their initial ideas and concepts for the mv
Honestly, this type of video is so cool because we get to see what kpop idols do in terms of filming the mv and the idols getting a different pov from a mv editor like jordan and understanding the different techniques their mvs have. Basically, we just get to be able to understand both ends of the spectrum which is nice.
