Nice setup. Almost bought an f-body Camaro, with the intent to turbo charge it.

If your building your own engine just get some plastigauge for the bearing measurements, get some measurement tools, and gap the rings to 24 thou if your boosting. And blueprint your own engine. And always check static timing. The 3800 block and internals are good for 450hp. Get valve springs, and guides. Ebay chinese turbos are good for up to 20psi reliably for $200. Aftermarket ecu is way better as well for tuning.

I too hate having to do work all over again. It holds me up from finishing projects all the time. Always trying to do it right the first time and always missing something somehow and having to do more work later. Brutal. You've done more than I ever could though man. You can get it straightened out. Keep at it.

Yea it always sucks having to redo all that work. I definitely learned from building my first 3800, now I'm on my 4th and still learning. One major suggestion is to take your block, crank, and rods to a machine shop, have them check the cylinders, hone the block, check the crank, rebalance if need be, polish it. If all is well, fit the engine with all new cam, crank, and rod bearings.

My guy put two washers in the oil pressure spring should keep you solid. Keep it lit.

Why not just gap the ring and arp rod bolts stronger connecting rods and pistons new bearings a comp cam and port the heads and intake since your building it and it’s ready for all the boost

Ya I had the same problem with my 99 gtp L67 not as bad I noticed the slight knock right away And pulled it apart. I rebuilt the first time and added lots of mods to many to count and didnt touch the bottom end. Spun a rod bearing so i just replaced the rod and main bearings and to my surprise it was still knocking never at idle only when i accelerated. So i just replaced the whole bottom end. New crank from zzp got the federal mogul pistons and powdered metal rods still waiting till next week to bring it to the machine shop to get those balanced. Wish I had the cash to have it blueprinted lol but way to expensive. If you replace that one rod bearing I would do all of them. like the videos and that camaro looks sweet

I’m writing this at 12:58AM, watching this and getting some motivation to turbo my firebird. Definitely love watching your videos because I’m getting a ton of information that I will use, looks like I’m gonna look for an L67

There's a silver lining too all this as much as it sucks. A, you get to keep giving us all this content on this particular build lol, and B, you and all the viewers get to learn from it. You may have very well saved somebody else from making this mistake. oh and C, you get to play with your fucking car bro 🤣

Hey brother quick question to see if you know the answer or someone else here does. I got a 1997 Camaro and I'm thinking about putting a stock rebuilt 3800 supercharged engine in it. But what do I do about wiring and computer or is it the same as NA motor??

Wow that bites. I have a 97 Z/28 with the Optispark distributor. This car is giving me fits!! I'm badly disabled and now I can't work on it. I am a Ford guy and the set-up on all of that ignition system is bout to drive me to doing nasty things to myself!!! Any ideas on what to do first??
