Reverend Mother: "Maria, these walls were not made to shut out problems." Their abbey doesn't have walls, it has curtains. With stained glass windows hanging on them. ^___^ Actually it looks good that way. ^___^
The light shines really good through them. The windows, that is, not the curtains. The curtains are probably thick/dark/heavy enough to be used as blackout curtains.
That kind of shoe is called a character shoe, they're sort of the default setting of shoes in musical theatre, if you can call it that. They probably kept her in those because they're easy to take on and off, especially since she only uses her "in the abbey" costume a few times the entire show.
I was just thinking that about Brigitta. I thought, here's another one that's too old to play Brigitta. She's pretty and she's good at it but she seems to be at least 13 or 14, instead of 9.
They're just about *all* too old except Liesl and Friedrich, thus version. Some versions do get younger children to play the younger children's parts. Even when everybody else is in high school.
@@julistarling8382 they should kids that can actually pass for those ages. I would say that girls ages 4-6 can audition for Gretl, girls ages 6-8 can audition for Marta, girls ages 8-10 for Brigitta, boys ages 10-12 for Kurt, girls ages 12-14 for Louisa, boys ages 13-15 for Friedrich and girls 15-17 for Liesl. Or just find someone who can PASS for that age.
They're in high school. All of them. I assume. Grrrrr. Not that there's anything wrong with being in high school, I just like it better when they cast younger kids. Which some high school productions do by the way. Ages are given as 16, 14, 13, almost 11, 9, 7 and 5. And they all are in their teens. Which for some strange reason or other just tends to bother me. 🤔
Go back to the part where they're telling their ages and they're actually almost convincing for a brief moment. Good acting. Just pretend Brigitta is actually nine and then you can pretend Marta and Gretl are younger than that. I will say this for them. They at least got the youngest-seeming old kids that they could get. 😉
@@julistarling8382 if it’s a high school they could’ve chosen a boy with an unchanged voice to play Kurt. And in most productions of this show, why do they always make Marta so tall and too old compared to Gretl, even tho they’re only a year apart?
No I have not seen 4 productions of this on RUclips in the last 7 hours
What are you talking about
I've seen at least 3 in the same night.
Not all of them in their entirety, you understand.
😀😸😁

Hecho en falta el reparto al final de la obra
Great High School President - The Sound Of Music Part 1
Missing cast at the end of the work
Why is Maria wearing high heels when she's back in the abbey?
They ran out of other kinds of shoes?
Just wondering.

They did make some effort to at least have the younger children be younger than the older children.
But not by very much.
