There is a bit to upack and correct here. Let's start with where your sets are. If you are instructing for outside hitting, then fix your sets/set placement. An outside set should be within two feet of the antenna (this is to maximize your hitting window/radius). Your sets are so far inside, they are practically in the middle. At 1:10 where you say Focus on hitting cross....no. You get your sets out on the pin, and start hitting line. 1. If I see you hitting like that, in a game against my team, I'm just going to have my outside blocker camp where you are hitting, and just let my middle take one or two steps to form a block. You try hitting like that in a game, and you are going to get stuffed by even an average block. If sets are on the pin, and you can hit line, that increases the distance for the blockers to set up all the way out, and line is usually open. Yes, you have more court to hit when hitting cross, but you are also hitting into (more often than not) a double block, and where more defenders are. Your left side approach should also be straight up the sideline, not 4 feet out to the left of the sideline.
