No, it cannot. Gravity dictates a different outcome. The earth might fall out of orbit but eventually return to its natural orbit. Because the earth spins so fast while orbiting the sun it is next to impossible to throw it out into deep space. Its like the moon. It would never crash into earth. The speed in which performs would slowly have the moon enter to a point where both our gravity and the moons gravity would cause the moon to shatter. Obvious it would also cause massive to almost an extinction level event but there will be survivors. The "mother ship" would need a velocity greater than the gravity strength of the earth and in this movie it was a slow descent.

those harvester drones are just that, mechanical drones. the aliens fighting in africa are the actual, biological aliens. in ID4 I, the queen died in the mothership in space which lead to the destruction to the city destroyers. but the actual aliens survived.

While that would have a major geological impact, magma would quickly fill the hole and solidify to the crust due to the cold water. You would still have a massive hole, but it would be plugged pretty quickly with ocean water cooling the breaching magma. The problem would be with every other unstable geological areas. Due to the pressure difference, volcanoes would erupt, fault lines would shift causing massive earthquakes, and major land masses would sink under water. The mothership alone would be enough to mess with the rotation and tilt of the planet. So them just landing the ship would be a world ending event.
This ship was so out of scale that it wasn't nearly as impressive as the first one. Those were giant but at the same time you could perceive how big they were compared to earth and cities.

Where to put that tentacle, what point to stimulate? And a guy peeing in your workplace would definitely insult you, if you worked on an intergalactic harvesting mothership. People get upset at their pets constantly for such things. Maybe those aliens were the janitors and dude made them mad, because they would have to clean that at the end of their shift.

If you consider it a standalone film rather than a sequel to Independence Day, it’s actually pretty good. Here are (what I consider) the main flaws with Resurgence: 1.) It’s quite a bit shorter. Independence Day was about 2 and a quarter hours long not including the end credits. Resurgence is an hour and fifty minutes long. By itself, this would not be a problem, however… 2.) There are more characters in Resurgence than Independence Day. In total, 21 characters in Independence Day have both multiple scenes and multiple lines of dialogue. Resurgence has 28 characters who have multiple scenes and multiple lines. As a result… 3.) Almost no one gets enough screen time in Resurgence, resulting in most characters having insufficient time for character development. This is especially detrimental to the new characters who weren’t in the first film, and therefore need more time to develop. Because of this… 4.) Much of the film (but not all of it) feels rushed. Many of the conversations seem like hurried exposition instead of strategic discussion or everyday banter. Because of this, much of the film feels similar to a class lecture, rather than genuine conversation. There are plenty of smaller things that also prove detrimental, but these are the main issues that did it for me.

Thing that bugged me about the ship landing is that stuff wouldn't fly off the surface of the earth - the ship has a lower gravitational pull than the planet. The shockwaves of it entering the atmosphere would knock everything over and wipe out humanity.
I still don't understand how humans didn't know how to reverse engineer a protective shield that only their own ships can pass through? In the movie, the protective shield (what they put up to trap a Queens ship) is such that human Fighterjets have to get out of there before they active it so they don't get trapped there.🙄🤷♂️

*Post credit scene:* The queen was revived and went to grab the sphere and outta nowhere, Will Smith in an X-plane like that Mach 10 one in Top Gun Maverick flies by. He ejects and as his hand catches fire he slaps the Queen going Mach 10. He sacrificed himself obviously but… He did not go quietly into the night! He did not die without a fight! He slapped that Queen right off of this rock and sent her flying toward the sun.
Fixing this would be pretty easy. Instead of the convoluted BS with the decoy sphere, it should just be a battle between Harvisters and Humans. The pilots that made it inside were able to recover a bomb. The rest of the movie focuses around the failing battle of humans and the effort to get the bomb in a position to kill the Queen. Get rid of the sphere entirely, get rid of the drilling plot, and make regular ol resources their goal. Like the first movie said, they're like locust. They drain the planet of every natural resource and move on. They also want revenge for taking out their previous fleet. The entire planet erupts in war where normal civilians have to take up arms from invading aliens. There are constant air-to-air battles over head. Just as humanity seems to be overpowered by the aliens, the team sets off the bomb. Destroying the queen and the ship and the aliens lose morale. Allowing humans to fight back. This movie just has too many plots for its own good. Slim it down and just make an alien v human war movie.
These people are very ungrateful. Directors spend millions on this movie 🎥 I appreciate their hard work. They even had to fix graphic problems for the mothership because it was so huge

Thing that bugged me about the ship landing is that stuff wouldn't fly off the surface of the earth - the ship has a lower gravitational pull than the planet.
The shockwaves of it entering the atmosphere would knock everything over and wipe out humanity.

I still don't understand how humans didn't know how to reverse engineer a protective shield that only their own ships can pass through? In the movie, the protective shield (what they put up to trap a Queens ship) is such that human Fighterjets have to get out of there before they active it so they don't get trapped there.🙄🤷♂️

The queen was revived and went to grab the sphere and outta nowhere, Will Smith in an X-plane like that Mach 10 one in Top Gun Maverick flies by. He ejects and as his hand catches fire he slaps the Queen going Mach 10. He sacrificed himself obviously but…

He slapped that Queen right off of this rock and sent her flying toward the sun.
Stupid
Fixing this would be pretty easy. Instead of the convoluted BS with the decoy sphere, it should just be a battle between Harvisters and Humans. The pilots that made it inside were able to recover a bomb. The rest of the movie focuses around the failing battle of humans and the effort to get the bomb in a position to kill the Queen. Get rid of the sphere entirely, get rid of the drilling plot, and make regular ol resources their goal. Like the first movie said, they're like locust. They drain the planet of every natural resource and move on. They also want revenge for taking out their previous fleet. The entire planet erupts in war where normal civilians have to take up arms from invading aliens. There are constant air-to-air battles over head. Just as humanity seems to be overpowered by the aliens, the team sets off the bomb. Destroying the queen and the ship and the aliens lose morale. Allowing humans to fight back. This movie just has too many plots for its own good. Slim it down and just make an alien v human war movie.
my only questions with these kind of movies, why are the aliens always naked while their technology is thousands of years ahead
