    Love your beautiful videography and drama-free videos! Question: We recently converted a 2017 Promaster for vacation travel---wonder if you can do video showing your engine maintenance routine?. I imagine the dusty boondocking locations probably mean dirtier oil, etc?

    • @oneadVANtureatatime
      @oneadVANtureatatime  5 лет назад +2

      That's a great idea and an easy video for us to do. We will add it to the list. The oil will not get dirty faster but the cabin and air filter will need to be changed out earlier then normal for sure. Both those filters are easy to change and can be done yourself if you like. Last time I changed them out cost me under 30 dollars for both filters. Thank you for the good video idea. 😀

    When I was there earlier in this month (January, 2020) a lot of the side roads were closed because they had recently had 2" of rain so the unpaved roads were so muddy! Some areas at a bit higher elevation had snow.

    • @oneadVANtureatatime
      @oneadVANtureatatime  5 лет назад

      We have mixed feelings about the RTR! Lol This style of meet up is probably great for a shakedown trip to learn the basics and see how your build works. Also not a bad place to go to meet nomadic like-minded people. It just seemed a bit awkward going to the Fairgrounds for information. It's just so big now it's too many people for one area so campers are all spread out. I am guessing by next year they will work all the bugs out and it will be amazing again. I think your timing will be just right. 😀
      That said, we met some great people and as always that was the best part. 👱🙋🐕

    The hot air balloons launch in the morning because theirs the least amount of wind at that time. I’ve been up many times and its always amazing! You can actually put a Kleenex tissue an the side of the basket and it will stay there because you move with the wind. Love your videos! Safe travels!

    I can't wait to get back there. I don't remember October being too awfully busy. I was in hotels so the cooler weather didn't bother me but I think it might start getting too cold for me as a nomad. I won't have the luxury of a Wave heater in my small space and I really hate to be cold. I wouldn't want to be cooped up in the SUV, either, except for sleeping. January is totally out for me. Lol.

    • @oneadVANtureatatime

    UPDATE from 2025: The City of Sedona is not allowing people to drive to many of the most popular trailheads any longer (you have to take a shuttle from a central location) and the Coconino National Forest doesn't allow dispersed camping along the Forest Service roads, there are now only designated sites with a 14-day (or possibly less?) limit. Also there aren't really any "off" times for tourism anymore, it's constantly busy. Things folks should know for planning to head to Red Rock Country.

    • @oneadVANtureatatime
      @oneadVANtureatatime  5 лет назад

      Yes! Starting out we noticed Roodle was stepping on every bad cactus 🌵 we could see. Now he has to wear his shoes when he is off-leash. He has been wearing shoes off and on for 3 years and is super good with it. The more he is around cactus the better he gets about avoiding them and we think if we spent enough time there he would not need the shoes anymore.

      I hope next year the rtr is better or we may not go again. I think the best part of the event is meeting others. People were scattered everywhere. Take care and best wishes.

    That drum would really irritate me, breaking up the peacefulness. To each his own.

      Agreed, when we arrived at the summit we choose not to fly it just for this reason. Instead we chose to fly on the other side where there were no people. We were also careful to keep it quite a distance away from anyone hiking the trail. We love nature and the great outdoors and we are mindful of those around us. Thanks for watching.

    It was all good up until the guy playing bongos. That would be the last thing I would want to hear in the solitude of the mountain.
