- I want to share a video of my one year loc journey with you all. Its been a long road but i'm so happy i started. I cant wait for more to come. Cosmic Queen 😊lm glad my energy reached you! I combed out my first set and then started over like two years later. If i could do it again I would have started then over right after I combed them out. I ultimately did a big chop and rocked a twa until I was 9 months in then I started my coils. I will do a video one day so you can see, but regardless just start my love 😘 get it done how you want so it makes you happy.

This is the most realistic loc journey on youtube--no talking and showed what was needed. Kudos to you. AND it appears we share the same hair type: 4C, which is rarely seen on youtube. I had locs for 20 years, shaved them and now I'm starting a new set. Q: do you get your hair done professionally every month or maintain it yourself? Your hair is beautiful. @@92aoalicia My hair was kept short due to military requirements for 17 years. Got out last November and been letting it grow for the last year. Lately, keeping it braided down for protection and my little 'fro gets in the way at work. Going to let it keep growing before locing it.
@@rufushughes4331 wow congrats on that transition. You have so much more freedom with your crown now! I think growing it out is a great idea. I grew my hair for 9 months before i got my starter loc's. I couldn't be happier.

Wildly Brittish thank you love!!! When I hit one year it was so bitter sweet because my journey was so long. I cut all my hair off in November of 2016. My hair was literally an inch long(I have a picture on my instagram) but I went from TWA to Starter locs to finally having what I have now. I’m so in love with my hair. And it makes me so happy that I can inspire people and give people hope.

New subbie here ❤️ I’m approaching month 4 on Oct 1st
I started with two strand twists and 14 months after, they are still in an ugly phase. I'm considering taking them down and starting again with finger coils.

Your locs are life and they grew a lot over the year. What products do you use daily
Thank you so much! I don't maintain my hair daily, except for wearing my loc sock to bed at night. If my hair feels dry i would moisturize it with water, leave in conditioner and oils. I have a very minimal routine.

How did you get your thickness? How often did you retwist? Wash hair? Deep condition hair? What products use to moisturize scalp and hair?
LIFE Hey 👋🏽 You get your thickness from the density of your hair and the size of your parts. With my first set of locs I had smaller sections (my hair is thin-ish) and I had over 100 so my locs were skinny.This time around I knew I wanted thick locs so I knew I needed less than 100 and larger parts. I retwisted about every month and a half. I condition with just coconut oil because I feel like conditioner would give me build up. And as far as my scalp I just use coconut oil as well. My routine is very basic. Remember less is more. I hope this answered your question 😊
