Bernard Edwards has inspired so many bass players, including myself. I can only aspire to be 1/10 of the bass player. Bernard Edwards was. He’s absolutely amazing.
I’m a Jamiroquai fan to the Nine & back But NOTHING tops Chic…I was raised from a crumb snatcher on Bernard, Nile and Mr. Thompson so that’s proudly in my blood.. Jamiroquai is a nonstop groove fest with transcendental mood images and musicianship that stands amongst the best.. I love ‘em both but I love Chic MORE🍻
Guess I better find this Jamiroquai. Never heard them before. Airbody talkin bout em. Chic mystified me from their first album. The rhythm guitar and bass grooves, and THOSE STRINGS!
Nobody sues unless the other band gets a hit. If Blurred Lines hadn't become a big hit, Pharrell and Robin Thicke would have been fine. Had Stairway To Heaven not become a rock anthem, we never would have heard anything about lawsuits. It's all about money. That Jamiroquai song was no threat to Chic. No radio spins,at least not on a national or regional level
It's called cultural appropriation aka copying! Or attempting to copy Black folks' music - as usual. Not once have I ever thought Jamiroquai was familiar to or reminded me of Chic. Not once...
Bernard Edwards is a true legend ….
Absolutely!!

Fantastic bass lines.
You guys are amazing!!
The BC Rich Wave and the Eagle are their best looking basses in natural finish. I want a Wave so bad!

My favs on bass. 1. James Jamerson, 2. Benard Edwards, 3. Mark Adams of Slave.
The bass is FOUNDATIONAL to all songs.
Chic The Original School
Love your channel. Love you guys.❤️
A more current example of Bernard’s style is Roosevelt, particularly his track ‘Montreal.’
Guess I better find this Jamiroquai. Never heard them before. Airbody talkin bout em.

1. Sister Sledge's We Are Family, 2. Cest Chic 3. Diana Ross' Diana are such good albums for me.
Even though he didn't play on this, Stu was influenced by Nard.
The legendary Bernard Edwards indeed played a BC Rich, but to call thát a P-bass?..
Hardly. That model is a BC Rich original, called the Eagle.
Its a P-bass with a different shaped body and headstock.
Bernard is one of my top 3. Now do Mark Adams of Slave!
well done..the 2 of them are tight on their playing ...theres no hidding place for funk playing drum n bass have to be well locked in..❤ from ireland
The CHIC track is fast forwarded. It’s not this fast.
The second I saw your video about 2 basses in one Jamiroquai song.
Also, listen to "I Hear Music in the Streets". Same bassline.

You saying they should sue?

god i could name hundreds of "ripped off" bass rhythms/lines by famous bass players
