Itachi would have won no doubt but Obito could play the long game knowing Itachi would still die of his illness either way, he played his cards perfectly here.

Yeah. The only reason Itachi didn't try to kill Obito was Itachi really thought that he is Uchiha Madara who tamed the Kyubi. Or else, he would have been dead by ages. My idea : Itachi might have thought like- why to risk and die in vain ? If I die in vain, then who will take care of sasuke ? After I die, this Madara will surely kill Sasuke for Sharingan or to control him emotionally like Pain the God. Its better for me to avoid madara, and make sasuke strong by making him hate me even more. So, even if madara goes to sasuke, he should put a decent fight and may be even kill him or atleast should not get controlled by him like Pain.
One of the best fights in anime, there are so many back and forths, the genjustu battle, the tsukoyomi, Fire syle, Ameteratsu, Kirin, Susano, Hydra Orochimaru, Totsuka Blade, Yatamir. This was the best showcase of what a shinobi is
Actually, everyone says that Naruto and Sasuke felt more pain in this story. But there are 4 other characters from Konoha, 1 from Amegakure who felt same amount of pain as them. Itachi,Kakashi, Obito, Hashirama, Madara, Pain Nagato Itachi - killed his parents and left his gf dying mercilessly, killed his whole clan mercilessly, saw his best friend die at hands of Obito, saw another friend suiciding but couldn't stop, made his brother into a weapon that will kill him. Kakashi- his pops died of humiliation and suicide. Obito seemingly died due to his fault of not pursuing Rin and so struck in Land of earth's trap. Rin died due to his fault. He couldn't save his sensei, couldn't save sensei's wife. The name Kakashi(scarecrow) really suited him because everytime some loved one will die infront of him and he couldn't do anything but crying. Obito - a child who wanted to takeout the whole world just because he didn't get a chance to marry his gf (since she died). Don't know why he didn't get the idea of reanimating her and talking with her. He calls kakashi as idiot, but he is a real idiot. Hashirama - killed his best friend for the sake of village (Itachi's before version). Lived till his hokage term thinking about people. Madara - fought till his death thinking about people's welfare. But its just that his ideas are different from Hashirama. Nagato - no need to tell about his life - a literal hell. He don't know of Infinite Tsukuyomi. He thought just like sasuke - control all nations with Biju powers so that there will be no wars. His parents killed, became orphan, has no one to take care of, no proper place to live, no proper food, roamed for food in times of war, his dog died, after some days his friends of akatsuki started dying, at last his best friend Yahiko died. From then - Pain started - feel the pain.

Hiruzen show this darkside of him and decide to fired Kakashi from his anbu job for the sake of his mental health and appointed him as Jounin teacher instead but it seems it not changing him at all and hes still cold hearted ninja until he teaching team 7. he change completly become a better ninja and the hatred and dark tought of his mental are also changed as well

Even if he did have it, Juubito would still stomp with the creation sword and the truth seeking orbs. The way i see it and understand it's Nature is that Black Zetsu (who was around since the period of Kaguya time era until the present of Naruto) was not bluffing when he said Itachi is invincible and i will explain my observation. Both Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror are Ethereal Weapons, Ethereal as a word means the following: Of or relating to the regions beyond the earth, Celestial, Heavenly, Unworldly, Spiritual, lacking material substance: immaterial, intangible. The Yata Mirror was an ethereal shield wielded by the left arm of Itachi's Susanoo. It is said to be endowed with all nature transformations, and is able to change its characteristics to any nature transformation to completely negate any attack, whether it be spiritual, or physical. Plus Itachi's greatest speed feat is keeping up with kcm 1 naruto. Kaguya and Madara easily outclass kcm 1 naruto speed or in anything. The best chance Itachi has is simply his blade and even then he has to land it and the seal might not even be strong enough

My idea : Itachi might have thought like- why to risk and die in vain ? If I die in vain, then who will take care of sasuke ? After I die, this Madara will surely kill Sasuke for Sharingan or to control him emotionally like Pain the God. Its better for me to avoid madara, and make sasuke strong by making him hate me even more. So, even if madara goes to sasuke, he should put a decent fight and may be even kill him or atleast should not get controlled by him like Pain.

One of the best fights in anime, there are so many back and forths, the genjustu battle, the tsukoyomi, Fire syle, Ameteratsu, Kirin, Susano, Hydra Orochimaru, Totsuka Blade, Yatamir. This was the best showcase of what a shinobi is
Actually, everyone says that Naruto and Sasuke felt more pain in this story. But there are 4 other characters from Konoha, 1 from Amegakure who felt same amount of pain as them. Itachi,Kakashi, Obito, Hashirama, Madara, Pain Nagato
Itachi - killed his parents and left his gf dying mercilessly, killed his whole clan mercilessly, saw his best friend die at hands of Obito, saw another friend suiciding but couldn't stop, made his brother into a weapon that will kill him.
Kakashi- his pops died of humiliation and suicide. Obito seemingly died due to his fault of not pursuing Rin and so struck in Land of earth's trap. Rin died due to his fault. He couldn't save his sensei, couldn't save sensei's wife. The name Kakashi(scarecrow) really suited him because everytime some loved one will die infront of him and he couldn't do anything but crying.
Obito - a child who wanted to takeout the whole world just because he didn't get a chance to marry his gf (since she died). Don't know why he didn't get the idea of reanimating her and talking with her. He calls kakashi as idiot, but he is a real idiot.
Hashirama - killed his best friend for the sake of village (Itachi's before version). Lived till his hokage term thinking about people.
Madara - fought till his death thinking about people's welfare. But its just that his ideas are different from Hashirama.
Nagato - no need to tell about his life - a literal hell. He don't know of Infinite Tsukuyomi. He thought just like sasuke - control all nations with Biju powers so that there will be no wars. His parents killed, became orphan, has no one to take care of, no proper place to live, no proper food, roamed for food in times of war, his dog died, after some days his friends of akatsuki started dying, at last his best friend Yahiko died. From then - Pain started - feel the pain.

Itachi is the most pressured ninja ever. He had no choice other than slaughtering his whole clan because if hes not stopping the uchiha coup plot then it would cause spark for world war ninja 3. Second is Kakashi, he show his father died by himself and not to mention his father hang himself because he want to save his comrade. Hiruzen show this darkside of him and decide to fired Kakashi from his anbu job for the sake of his mental health and appointed him as Jounin teacher instead but it seems it not changing him at all and hes still cold hearted ninja until he teaching team 7. he change completly become a better ninja and the hatred and dark tought of his mental are also changed as well

Even if he did have it, Juubito would still stomp with the creation sword and the truth seeking orbs. Obito knows basically everything there is to know about The Sharingan and had The Rinnegan for a lot longer than Itachi would've; That's not taking everything else into account, even Rinnegan Obito would still stomp.

The way i see it and understand it's Nature is that Black Zetsu (who was around since the period of Kaguya time era until the present of Naruto) was not bluffing when he said Itachi is invincible and i will explain my observation. Both Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror are Ethereal Weapons, Ethereal as a word means the following: Of or relating to the regions beyond the earth, Celestial, Heavenly, Unworldly, Spiritual, lacking material substance: immaterial, intangible. The Yata Mirror was an ethereal shield wielded by the left arm of Itachi's Susanoo. It is said to be endowed with all nature transformations, and is able to change its characteristics to any nature transformation to completely negate any attack, whether it be spiritual, or physical. So if it says it contains all nature transformations,this doesn't just mean the basic 5, It means ALL, and the fact that it blocks Spiritual attacks as well proves that, as we all know spiritual attacks belong to Yin Release. If i understand something from this it's that the Mirror contains:

@a busy stranger the seal might not be strong enough to hold them for too long. Id imagine a truth seeker orb or even Kaguya's ash bone destroys the shield. Plus Itachi's greatest speed feat is keeping up with kcm 1 naruto. Kaguya and Madara easily outclass kcm 1 naruto speed or in anything. The best chance Itachi has is simply his blade and even then he has to land it and the seal might not even be strong enough

Also that feat of naruto isnt even that impressive, he had to put his whole focus in that one move in order to dodge the raikage. There is also the fact edo madara shit on the kage, in which the raikage was present at. Edo madara is weeker then alive madara so there is that too.
