Underground train station in Scottsdale would be a nice idea I think. Also this could be a commuter service between East part of Santa Clarita and central part of Scottsdale
Tough to stop the traffic with the modded town size, they look enormous. Train speed won't help much, the issue is the waiting times for bus/train/bus journeys. One route set up I've found that helps is having two intercity routes with pick up / drop off restrictions. One goes pick up only city A residential, then drop off only through city b industrial and commercial, then pick up city b residential, then drop off A commercial / residential. Second route does the opposite, pick up commercial and industry, drop off residential. Allows citizens who aren't next to a train station to travel with no transfers. Pick up orders are needed to stop in city traffic dominating the route. Other than that, I use standard European planning, train stations as close to town centres as possible, and slow narrow streets to discourage driving.
The modded town sizes definitely makes traffic much worse but I kind of enjoy it and it feels more realistic. I didnt think wait times affected passenger decisions. I always thought they assumed the best case with zero wait times but I'll look into that more. However, these area great tips and I think at this point city planning and road layouts are just as important as public transportation for dealing with traffic.
@@ultimatearchitect Agree with the mega town sizes making it more fun as a game rather than a clockwork model railway. Played one serious map with the mod, it was nice watching queues melt away when applying those tricks, the traffic can be beaten
Also the ferry lines can have multiple river front stops, kind of like a water Inter/Intra city commuter bus line.

This is a good idea, I would just be worried with it competing too closely with the exiting line
Maybe try a high speed passenger ferry service between Santa Clara and Jackson/Scottsdale.
Thanks for the suggestions! I really like these, I never though of high speed ferry lines. I might try it out if traffic continues to get worse
