Alexander Markov is my favorite in style virtuosity and all that is excellent in violin.. Listen to the perfect intonation dynamics sound quality.... Marvellous.
in 1,985 this great violinist was eliminated in the second round of the Queen Elizabeth violin competition of Brussels , after playing an outstanding second round ,,,, the public and the press were furious with the desition ,,,, but the 'great violinist juries ' that year only came to the final round and it was to late for Alexander Markov ,,, great to see him again at 55 stil playing greatly ,,,,,,love him sinds that day of 1985 when he let every one astonished '( exept the amateuristic jury) at the second round of the QEC
I think Alexander Markov's most influential teacher was his father Albert Markov. His violin used to be a Guarnerius Del Gesu but I think the violin he is playing here is a Peresson.
Wonderful! Anyone know about this string chamber orchestra arrangement? I think it works great and allows the soloist to bring out the touching lyricism of the piece. I didn't miss the winds. Kudos to all involved.
I have heard it many times and feel he plays it too fast. It is note and intonation perfect but you get no real chance to savor the piece. Just my opinion.
Where's my comment? Do you remove anything criticizing? I think the Heifetz version is best. It's actually riveting. My original comment started ... "Heifetz he ain't"... that stands. Now, are you going to remove this comment too? I'll come back to check.

Markov is in my top five favourites, his dad's Carnevale de Venizia is immaculate, and his Caprices are literally musical perfection
un vieuxtemps d'excellence, admiration,un chemin vers les étoiles

In the competitions mostly earn price those who are not the best!
I am not sure, but also when he played at Paganini competition he was awarded of the second prize and the frist one was not assigned.

Certainly ; not sure but I remember they sold the Guarneri
With Helicore strings (the A shines like the D, it's probably the Titanium A version)

This concert is very difficult to properly intone.
You should listen to the performance by Heifetz.
I have heard it many times and feel he plays it too fast. It is note and intonation perfect but you get no real chance to savor the piece. Just my opinion.
I never Knew Donald Trump played the violin
