Ok seems vans are now finally tested as they weren't before and I am Astonished how well it held up. Even the van to car test went well with the car making it survivable. Good strong car the juke is.
The occupants of the Juke would have suffered far more than the van occupants... did you see the car being flung back? You don't die from crush injuries, you die from the shear force on your organs inside the body.

Large SUV vs normal vehicles are important too as that's a very dangerous situation as well. We need to know exactly how smaller than SUV cars deal with an SUV impact...otherwise we all buy Land Cruisers to increase the safety of our family, but everyone driving Land Cruisers for that reason would not be good neither.

If you look at the 2, the passengers in the Juke would still easily come off better than in the van, and you can see this by just looking at the head and neck movements by passengers in both vehicles. The passengers in the van would have suffered from severe whiplash and head injuries whereas the headrests in the Juke allowed the head to return to a more natural position and not move as violently during the collision

40% overlaps are still not ‘easy to pass’, Euro NCAP rates the card accordingly. Plus a vehicle doesn’t ‘pass’ when it is rated by Euro NCAP it just gets scored.
Why is there no co-driver airbag in the van? And why do I always think, everyone will die in a crash, except the driver. (Yep, even the kids in the backseat!)

It definitely is a good idea to test commercial vehicles like this one, so bosses can make sure the vehicle their workers use is safe.

It doesnt look like the passenger airbag is necessary, as the dummys head doesnt seem to come close to the dashboard

Deformation without pertruding into the passenger compartment is a lot safer because that has absorbed more of the force
