Budget Tactical Fleece? BIYLACLESEN Tactical Fleece
What it is : This is a “tactical style” heavy weight fleece jacket that I have had since 2019. If you are familiar with “tactical” style jackets then you have seen this over all design before but in the majority of situations, it has been with Soft Shell jackets.
    Agenda Free Link :www.amazon.com/BIYLACLESEN-Pi...
    Sizes : Small to XX-Large
    Colors :
Green, black, blue, coyote brown and gray
    Materials : Anti-Pilling Polyester,
    Variants :
With this company and this jacket, there are two variants of each jacket and it involves the color of the zippers - some of the jackets have black zippers and some have zippers that are the same color as the jacket itself.
    Medium Size Weight : 1.9lbs
    Company Claimed Features :
windproof - not accurate; it is wind resistant but if the wind speeds are high enough, you will feel it.
lightweight - not accurate, this is a heavy weight fleece and it is heavy
    breathable - yes.
    warm - yes
    soft - yes
    Cost : $42
    Review Pros :
Overall fair quality for the money; with that being said, consider this; this is a $40 Chinese made fleece jacket, it isn’t high end and certainly doesn’t feel like it. What it feels like is a budget fleece jacket and as long as you know that before you purchase, you won’t be surprised nor disappointed.
Warm - this is a heavy weight fleece jacket and it is warm; I’ll wear this into the 40’s with only a t-shirt and stay nice and warm.
It is fairly wind resistant thanks to the thickness; blocks out winds up to 20mph and after that point you begin to feel it coming through the material.
    Cool looking design
    Plenty of pockets
Fair value for the money - again, this isn’t a Marmot or Arc’teryx fleece and it doesn’t cost $140 either.
I like the collar; due to the design it is very much like a neck gaiter; covers the neck and blocks out wind.
Fairly breathable-when pushing yourself hard enough moisture can develop on the outside of the jacket. Luckily polyester is a quick drying material.
    Chin guard
Media outlet - pocket hits the average phone but won’t fit an iPhone max or samsung ultra size phone
Good zipper pulls for all zippers -
    Smooth zippers
    Sizing :
Sizing is accurate; I wear a medium and this is a medium. It’s a bit baggy but not overly so; enough space for an additional layer for the colder months.
    Review Cons :
Heavy and bulky : More important than weight, is the size; you will notice this in your backpack as it will take up a substantial amount of space. It doesn’t compress at all and if you can attach it to the outside of your pack, you may want to do so.
Left side zip : in America left side zip is customary with female clothing whereas men’s jackets typically zip on the right. Outside of the US, this isn’t always the case and men’s clothing with zips on the left are common. I mention this because some might care while most won't have an issue.
While I haven’t had any issues with quality the overall strength of the construction and materials doesn’t inspire confidence. Going back to whatI said already, this is a $40 fleece - premium fleece jackets feel like they can take some use and abuse whereas with this jacket it feels like you have to be somewhat gentle with it.
Hood is floppy and non adjustable - since it can’t be adjusted, it can be blown off in strong winds.
    Summary :
Overall for the money I am pleased with this jacket. It looks cool, its warm, blocks a good amount of wind but the tactical factor is laughable. This isn’t a tactical jacket by any stretch of the imagination nor is it tactical grade. It’s an inexpensive jacket that I have no regrets buying for $40. By the way, there are multiple companies who make a version of this jacket and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is one company that makes them all; re-label sort of situation. I cannot comment on the quality of the other brands.

Lawn bowling is a popular 3 season pastime. I have 5 rinks within a few kilometers of my home. Its autumn now and a "warm" afternoon is 8C (46F)

I thought lawn bowling too, or any number of outdoor lawn games like bowling, horse shoes, corn hole (bean bags), Giant Jenga, darts, etc. that have surged in popularity since outdoor beer gardens have gained so much popularity in the last two years. Zipped pockets seem more secure than pants pockets for outdoor concert or festival crowds. The breathable fleece seems more of an advantage than wind resistance in a festival setting. I suppose you could easily fit a rain poncho and mylar emergency blanket in the back pocket.
Thumb holes look.like they are in the wrong spot.
Priced as a style statement, it would have been nice to see other color options. A high visibility color option would be helpful for reuniting with friends after pit stops at festivals.
Seems like a nice winter car coat too. Good for staying warm without sweating. Lots of places for sunglasses, phone, ear buds, surgical mask or hand sanitizer, extra keys, (lumbar cushion or heat pad in back pocket? )
      ( Ha, ha, ha.).
Great review. Always enjoy your music choices at the end of each video.
IDEA FOR CAR TRIP VIDEOS: As an over 60 adventurer, I would love to hear comments on accessibility for persons with a range of abilities, e.g., trail difficulty, which trails might be better for walking poles, etc. You may have an untapped audience of adventurers who finally have time, money and the will, but face some physical challenges. Your car camping tips have been very helpful.. And getting out into nature and moving is motivating and great physical therapy, especially after the last two years.
I would be interested in a Susie video on how she plans the car trips: maps, resources, contingency planning, prepping for emergencies,, how to find out-of-the-way-hidden-gems to visit, how to prepare contacts back home if you need to be contacted for an emergency at home while you are away, etc. For example, watching your videos I have become interested in planning a trip to learn about Indigenous American culture across the US and could use some tips and general information about tribes, reservation visiting, museums, when to steer clear, etc. I would like to visit the Cherokee area west of Asheville if could recommend any local tips.
Also traveling in areas that are spread out, how to plan for gas and grocerry/water stops. For example, some friends took a car trip to the Baja Penninsula and they knew from friends that had done it before that they would need to bring 52 gallons of their own water for a week. They made the entire bottom layer of their van into water jugs with a layer of plywood over. That's an extreme example, but I am sure Susie would have a lot of valuable planning insights.
Thanks to both of you for all you do.

I believe all of these are styled after the TAD Ranger hoody. They have an LT and a fullweight. Had them for years ahd are built to inspire confidence. another aspect is the fleece itself: These use a noname polyester. The tad uses a product called Polartec, which is vastly more breathable. Much less moisture buildup. I've compared many fleeces over the apst few yrs in the PNW and the humidity really doesn't fall below 75% here, most of the time its 100%. So I really notice when I'm not wearing polartec. Its almost the same sensation as wearing a Goretex shell while hiking in weather that's too warm, except the cheap polyester will get u wet if your just sedentary. and as we know, wet is bad in hypothermic conditions, which r year round in my neck of the woods. In the TAD products (Polartec fabric), I can run in them outdoors and I really don't get wet, just from sweat ofc. But there is a difference, however arcane it may be. If you're in a humid place, would def recc'd going polartec. An aside, Polartec is a US company that makes products for the ECWCS system. They are the best fleece in the world, and it has to do with woven vs nonwoven material sciences. All the cheap fleece and overseas fabrics copy the USA made product from Polartec. Hope this helps!

      @Villarreal422 2 года назад

The Tad is probably the same jacket they just charge more and put their name on it. You have Chinese companies that make products and put different companies' names on them. That's why you see this jacket everywhere. Probably even on Ali Express

"One company in China that makes these and slaps different labels" Yes that is exactly how it works, from lightbulbs to padlocks to electrical appliances all the way to biking gear, one OEM factory makes these and then some of those products will either "somehow" make their way to another company or straight-up share the factory with another local company that sells said products at 1/4 of the cost the original contractor sells it for.

Hi- the original is called a ranger hoodie by triple aught design in San Francisco USA - the ranger hoodie has been there main product for the last 15 years .
Made of polartec fleece there are a lightweight version and original heavyweight-
Very near to your China jacket but there are differences, the zippers are not black and are the same colour as the jacket , the front 2 large zipper pockets are primary pockets but also allow for cool down as the inside fabric is a mesh - also in those pockets is a pen or knife pocket and a d ring to attach keys ect and there is a rubber media port for head phones or mp3 - the mesh lining also is a large inside pocket on both sides. And there are a media ports on the inside of the top sleeve pockets - under arm pit area has holes so you can cool down and not get too sweaty, the hood is very steam-lined small peak way smaller than on yours- the feel of the fabric on the triple aught is very top quality and it’s made in limited runs - I’ve had mine for over 8 years and it is my go to jacket in the fall and winter around the camp fire or a grab layer to deal with a job outside- very practical and once you try a triple aught ranger your not go back to any other - I’ve found the LT ranger the lighter one is far better and easier to fling on or carry about - I would say you won’t feel the wind or cold with one on and your probably have to open the pockets to let the air in more often than you would think - don’t be put off by the price - reach out to them they might like you to test one - or just look at the reviews they will speak for themselves- 👌👍by the sea in the U.K. 🇬🇧

I had a very similar no brand fleece like that, and I wore it to death. It was my go to fleece for dog walking, and it also saw action on two snowboarding trips. Eventually the main zip failed, which is a shame because the rest of the jacket was holding up pretty well. Main difference between this one and mine (and the main reason I bought it) was that the insides of all the pockets on mine were mesh vents, so you could open those to vent and cool off. I miss that fleece,... I might go look on Amazon for another : - )

I saw your review when it was uploaded. I ordered one and wore it many times over the winter while hiking, driving, snow shoveling, etc. (No bowling). Your review is confirmed: Quite warm. It is fleece so it is wind resistant, but not wind proof. It is bulky and is more of a heavy weight fleece. I ordered an XL and got an XL. Sizing was correct. Good quality zippers. The pass through pocket on the lower back is perfect for stowing gloves and a hat or a buff. It has a tactical look, but is a practical jacket. After six months of use, no issues at all. Thanks for the review, Luke. 👍

Funny timing, I just got the Liberty jacket by Helikon Tex in the mail this week. Exactly the same deal material and pocket wise, just without the hood and a few extras like velcro on the cuffs and shockcord on the waist and neck area to tighten everything up. I just compared the two and on Amazon.de the Helikon is 65€ and this one 60€. I don't know about the rest of the globe or if it helps anyone but I really like the Liberty so far. Plus 10 celsius with only a shirt under it went fine so far.

When watching this video, I was wearing a similar Chinese jacket - same pockets, but no hood and no thumb-holes. I like it, and l agree with the idea that it offers a good quality-price ratio. It does the job of keeping me warm with the possibility of storage all over. But it should not be considered heavy-duty or a bulletproof vest. Overall, I'm happy with it.

Amazingly, an add for an identical jacket listed under a different name popped up during my viewing of this video! :D And perfectly timed too.. towards the end of the review. Had to chuckle when the ad went on and on about all the potential uses of the jacket... but THAT "branding" didn't mention bowling! :D ha ha! Might be a good choice for older kids/teens that outgrow stuff frequently or are prone to losing or damaging stuff if it fits well. Also an option for "backup/just in case" jacket to store in vehicle for unexpected weather changes, inadequately prepared "guest" etc. And, there's something nice about inexpensive but functional gear for chores, dirty jobs, and other situations where one might hesitate to "risk" a more expensive/high-end jacket.

I love my cheap jacket. I use it over my Wooby Jacket to protect it. To be honest the Wooby is like a screen door in the wind by itself.( which cost 1.5 times this jacket.). Great combo for the cold. I also use it for my Army Field Jacket liner. This is my really cold (-20f )set up for this winter in Minnesota.

I have one similar. Mine is water resistant enough to be a pretend rain jacket. There also are extra zippers under the triceps area which can be opened for ventilation. Cuff have an adjustment and the hood also has drawstrings which can tighten it up.
Not my end of civilization jacket but very useful. The useful temp range also seems similar.

I have the same jacket in Black I found it for a little over a year never really had any serious issues about it the fact that you can zip it from the bottom once it's fully zipped up to say be able to reach in your front pocket or as being a man to be able to relieve themselves jacket works incredibly well. I do agree 100% with the review. The only slot negative is the fact that yes there is no internal pockets however when you look at it from the inside the chest pockets appear to have the ability to be a pocket as in you can put your eyeglasses or say your beanie hat or something like that in it the only issue is it is not shown together at the bottom on the inside of the pocket so if you put something in there it will fall through you can lose it other than that it is a really good garment definitely worth the buy especially for the price. But honestly if you want a serious military grade style but do not want to spend a lot of money go to Amazon find a used military gear and you can get one for approximately the same price and a little bit tougher material

I bought the Chinese version at the swap meet for 15 bucks and the tag in the pocket said MagcoMsen but it exactly like the Chinese version, I’m very satisfied jacket is very warm and comfortable but not heavy duty and I would love the hoodie adjustment, at night it drops to the low 30s and as long as I have a warm shirt under it’s great and also worked well as a jacket liner In really cold weather.

I almost purchased the same jacket a few days ago from a company called bear skins and they sell it for 70 bucks. It looks identical. I'm glad I didn't buy it. I'm going to get it on Amazon like you did. I'm totally fine with a 42 dollar jacket because I have expensive Arcterex jackets that I don't wear because I spent so much on them and don't want to mess them up. Thanks for the honest review.

Seems reasonable, I have a similar jacket that has a removable outer shell and I think I paid $50. As long as you are on trial and not running through the trees where you can catch on something you should be fine.

The pocket at the small of the back is called a 'game pocket'. It was originally found on hunting jackets. It's supposed to be big enough to hold a rabbit or game bird. But leave your hands free to hold a rifle.

G'day Luke, yeah for the dough its fine. I'd use it car camping, not so much on a hike. Must say I've no use for a hood except on rain gear. I find them bloody annoying scrunched up whist wearing a pack or with a rain shell over the top. Certainly a high neck is useful though. Cheers Duke.

Also…this jacket, especially the hood, fits excellent under ecwcs gen 1 shell, which is gore Tex lined. Making for a perfect “heavy weather” jacket. Gen 1 had the matching hood permanent, not storable.
