Been working in IT for 6 months in an enterprise environment, have 2 semesters left for my AS degree in IT, and scheduled to take the 1001 exam on the 23rd!
@@SirAuron777 If they were asking $9500, that's a little pricey for an Associates degree. I was fortunate and was awarded a grant that pays for my tuition every semester. I think an Associates degree is better than a bachelor's degree at this point.
The issue is retaining and recalling all the nuances. I've covered everything well over the entire curriculum, but there is so much material, it's impossible to avoid having several areas that you haven't touched in a while. Even if you never stop studying, you can't avoid this due to how much sheer material is involved. That's the issue to me.
I'm studying for the exam right now. got it booked in 9 weeks and i have the same problem. i can build a pc from scratch and set up a network with ease but when it comes to know all the different abbreviations and stuff my head just feels heavy. (EFS, S/MINE, IMAP, PRL, NFC) just blows my head
Yup, new to the Core series exams. Realistically, it only covers how to configure a mesh network with Z-Wave and configuring a Zigbee-based network and even then, only from the standpoint of pure theory/light application.
Should I study 1001 only first then take exam and pass.. then move onto 1002 study and take exam? Seems like your book kind of mixes 1001 and 1002 together in the same chapters.

A lot changed in the new 1001/1002 exams. I have completely reshot the courses. Yes some content does carry over but I strongly suggest you get the new 1001/1002 courses.

for the virtualisation download oracle virtual box and a couple of windows VM 7, 8.1,10 and a mac os OVA file to practice on. those are what i am doing so i get a broad experience with all of them. i do have some experience with windows but still need to touch up on some things. cloud computing is also a weakness for me so need to work on that side of it too. hardware i got down to a T security i am ok with that too. linux side i use linux as my daily driver. networking is something im touching up on too. so a bit of everything but i think in 4 months i will pass. im a self taught ethical hacker so should be able to do it hopefully. no certs to my name just knowledge off here as there are some great videos exploiting systems and such on youtube but i really want to get into IT so A+ is where i need to start i feel and at 31 i need to get on the right path get into a boring help desk job then move up.
@@ThatsJustEric you're not a failure bro. Actively search for Helpdesk jobs, apply constantly. While you're working in IT revise for the CompTIA A+. You can do it, I use to do Security aswell
Don’t buy this, I sadly did purchase the comptia a+ 220 1001/1002; and their customer service is horrible. Q&a portion of the “program” doesn’t work for macs, and they have false advertising for the “money back guarantee”. Overall rating 3.1/10

Is it worth going to school to get an associates degree in IT? I called a local school and they wanted $9500 for 6 months…

So it is like 4-5 questions from each domain?
from my understanding the questions are random. 90 questions is MAX, that doesn't mean you will get 90 questions on the exam.

You can test whenever you have the knowledge to pass. The 12 months is just a recommendation but definitely not a requirement
