Alcantra wasn't nearly as bad a guess as you thought. it also narrowed it down to the AL west, as it would have been yellow if it was the AL east or NL central.

@@IneffableMega I wouldn’t call it genius, it narrowed it down, but was impossible to be right. Guessing AL East or west 2nd is the intelligent move as it also eliminates 2 divisions if wrong

@@finnhyora yes, but it was literally impossible to be correct, and if you guess the Al East or west, and it is that division, you eliminate a team aswell
This is fairly pedantic but when you get Yellow on the Division for the first guess, your next guess should be a player from the same league, because with any result you then will know the Division (either it is correct, it is still yellow so you know it’s the remaining Division in that League, or it is grey and you know it’s the corresponding Division in the other League).

I may be misunderstanding, but for the Jose Urquidy one for example, his first guess was AL Central, but his next guess of NL East should have been enough to verify that the player was in the AL West, no? If it was an AL East player it would have been yellow for Sandy Alcantara. So technically as long as your next guess isn't in the same division in the opposite league, you will learn the true division in 2.
@@MegaFeRex you are right but it's not as foolproof as guessing in the same league. for example with the Alcantara guess if NL East had also been yellow the correct division could either be AL East or NL Central, whereas same league/different division guarantees that you'll narrow it down to the right division.

So not only was your brain off for the Sandy guess, but it was also off for the following guess. Because you went from Alcantara to Berrios, but if it was an AL East Player than NL East would have been yellow on your Sandy guess. You were only left with AL West at that point.

Remember on the division column when you have yellow, say you have yellow on ALW, then it can be NLW, ALE, or ALC, don't guess the NLW option, because then you don't know the league after said guess. If you do the ALE or ALC, than even if it's wrong, it will always give you the league, since it will be blank for NLW, Yellow for one you didn't guess, and green if you got it right. Just something to think about, it's not really that bad getting yellow because the next guess you can always narrow it down, as long as you don't choose the AL or NL counter league
