    I really loved that three quarters of Nick's strategy is to f-with Richard. THAT is when you know you are gaming with a real mate! ;)

    Well done chaps, another great report. I also liked the individual pre-game briefing on the reasoning for your choice of support points and game plan. Cheers, Pat Smith.

    A most enjoyable battle of manoeuvre. The rapid advance and the wrong-footing of the French by Stuka attack caught the flavour of May 1940 perfectly. Nick could not react due to the shabby German Brandenburger who we never did see on the video; stealthy Hunnic bastard! A Nick, c'est tellement triste. A Chris, felicitation de votre victoire le plus rapide! Great game gentlemen and fine camera work! Enjoyed this one immensely. Bravo on a battle well fough.... err, avoided? Cheers and thanks again for posting these great videos. I got my CoC rules off the shelf and evil thoughts are now running through my head.

    Hi Rich and Nick - another really entertaining game; thank you. Rich was a little naughty on this one, as not only did he bring on 2 vehicles in the same phase (which is a no-no) I think he also forgot to move his extreme left-hand Jump Off Point back 6 inches after the end of the Patrol Phase .... Unless my eyes deceived me, the JOP was placed in exactly the same place as the Patrol Marker, rather than 6 inches back. No real biggy here, as the 2 wheeled vehicles would've made it off the table, if the Infantry hadn't made it. :)
    I also really liked the feature of the top-down plan of the battlefield and the initial individual commentary about Support Option choices - very nicely done and very informative ! Very much looking forward to Part 6, which must be due out soon, I hope !?

    Superb game! It's one of the things I love most about Chain of Command that games like this are thrown out every now and then, not a great game for Nick admittedly but it adds so much to the overall campaign. With the Germans exploiting French disarray after the Stuka attack the campaign is really opening up!

    Good thing about the French is the low model count that needs painting.
    And what's with the constant, always, one thumb down? Is there a third Lardy forced to live in the attic, subsisting only on fish heads and Norseman lager, spitefully cursing the channel?

    Nicholas you missed a trick when deploying the AT gun. Because it can fire automatically when deploying, you could have used the Leader to remove two of those points of shock meaning you would hit on a 10! Boom - 6AP hitting on 4,5,6 against 2 Armour saving on 5,6! Goodnight Vienna!

    • @frankmartin2503
      @frankmartin2503 5 лет назад +1

      Don Avis not only that Don, but the Leader could have used 2 initiatives to give a +1 to hit. Removing the shock is the better option in this case, however.

    • @johnmumford9731

      Indeed he missed that - I think nick was having a baaad day at black rock - bit like the Australian cricket team. it all started with the first turn where upon getting a great set of dice he threw them back in lady lucks face - never a wise move :0)

  • @Bobsixninesix
    @Bobsixninesix 5 лет назад +4

    Rich...you cheated!!! (didn't matter thou). :-)
    You deployed the 1st squad on a '2'. You could not go tactical as no leader activated to order it
    The effect of stukas on buildings occurs before the patrol phase
    Nick could have deployed his ATG AND his junior leader could have removed a point of shock reducing shock to 2. The hit dice of 11 would have hit in that case and you would have had a dead 221 :-)
    Overall... exactly the same result when we played it. A bloodless victory for the germans (which wasn't me)

    • @donavis724
      @donavis724 5 лет назад +1

      No he didn’t! Going tactical isn’t a leader activation - it is something the infantry can just do!

    Not finished the video but Half Tracks should not move at the speed of wheeled vehicles. So even though they are fast you should not have deployed so far in... I think.

    • @toofatlardies
      @toofatlardies  5 лет назад +1

      There were no half-track in this game. The two SdKfz 221 were fully wheeled, the Panzer I was tracked and didn't actually move. Half-tracks do not move as fast as wheeled vehicles, you're correct there, but none were present.
