Thanks for the look back on your gardening year in 2024. I'm very much looking forward to seeing your 2025 plans and videos, as everything you put up is so relaxing and peaceful. I have a small balcony too and grow flowering plants and shrubs on it. At the moment, a pink hellebore is beginning to bloom which brightens up the grey days 😊. Best wishes
Hi Sue, thank you for your comment. 😊 I'm already working on new projects. This year I will try to get good results also on the balcony where I keep the flowers. The problem is that in summer some plants under the scorching sun suffer a lot and tend to dry out. Your hellebore must be gorgeous! I wish you a nice and peaceful week, without grayness!

Hi, thanks again for sharing! I tried planting vegetables before, but I had to stop due to some pest issues. 😅 Now, I focus on growing beautiful flowers, and I'm learning to choose the right ones based on their sunlight needs-whether they thrive in full sun or prefer partial shade. Since we don’t experience four seasons here, just sun or rain, it’s been a fun challenge figuring out what works best!
Hello! 😊 You can always give vegetables another try. But growing flowers is also wonderful! 🌸 I'm also trying to decide which flowers to plant on my other balcony. Keep in mind that in July and August, the sun is very strong and sometimes "burns" the plants. ☀️🔥 Thank you for watching the video! 🙌🎥

Beautiful balcony garden.
I tried growing some tomatoes last year on my balcony, didnt really work well with the wind.
This year I am going to build some balcony pots and add some greenhouse tents to the balcony to stop the wind.
My plan for this year is growing tomatoes, peppers, basil, calendula, luffa, beans and probably add more during the seasons.
Hello Braam, welcome! 😊 I know that wind very well since I used to live in Flanders. Two years ago, we had a few days of very strong wind with hail here (it even blew off some house roofs!), but my plants and the trellis I built held up very well. 💪🌿 To your list, I would also add lettuce and cucumbers-it all depends on what you like! 🥬🥒 Thank you for sharing your experience! 🙌✨

Surely having the balcony facing south without obstacles in front helps a lot. Indeed, the tomatoes were delicious and I will definitely put them back this year. Hi, no, luckily I haven't had any problems with pests. Only on one pak choi plant. Keep in mind that everything is organic, I don't use any chemicals. As fertilizer I use bokashi and rarely nettle macerate. Soon I will start preparing the 2025 garden. Thank you very much for your comment. 😊

Thank you Elina for your comment, I am very pleased. It is very fascinating to follow the growth process of the seedlings, the first flowers and then the formation of the fruits. Starting from the seeds is even more beautiful. If you have problems with pests you can try with nettle macerate: it is necessary to collect about 500 grams of fresh nettle leaves, wash them, chop them coarsely and put them in a 5 liter container of water. Cover with a lid and let it macerate for 48 hours. At that point you will have a pesticide against aphids and scale insects. The liquid obtained after filtering it with a colander should be sprayed on the plant. Attention, the smell is very unpleasant but disappears immediately after applying it. Left to macerate for more than 15 days it will instead be an excellent fertilizer. Let me know how it goes.

I'm guessing you don't have any snail issues on the balcony. This is my biggest hesitation right now on whether to start, because this area is absolutely riddled with them..
Thank you, Peachette, I'm glad you liked it! 😊 Grasshoppers and lizards arrive, but never snails. And anyway, nothing that can damage the plants. For snails I think there are also natural remedies. Try it, maybe a little at a time you will gain experience to avoid the problem
