    Hi everyone! Happy Easter! Hope everyone is having a great day!
    NOTES:
    - This video will NOT include United International Pictures. I decided to focus on the CIC logos only, not the ones from UIP. I might do that company on a future episode.
    Cinema International Corporation was a film distribution company started by Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures in the early 1970s to distribute the two studios' films outside the United States, and even operated in Canada before it was considered part of the "domestic" market. During the 1970s, they were considered the "most important agent of overseas distribution" for American films. In 1981, CIC merged with United Artists' international units and became United International Pictures.
    CIC Video was a home video distributor owned by the company and established in 1980. It operated in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, and quite possibly New Zealand. In 1999, CIC Video was dissolved when Universal purchased PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and reorganized its video division under the Universal name. Paramount Home Entertainment UK became CIC Video's successor.
    This video was released for educational purposes only.

    What are your favorite logos from CIC? Mine would be the 1st logo from Cinema International Corporation, the 1981 logo from CIC-Taft, and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th logos from CIC Video.

    There are also some interesting and likely never-seen-before versions of the CIC Video logos, such as this version (9:59) where the CIC Video morphs into the Paramount logo which morphs into the Universal logo, and the German versions of the 1997 logo at 18:55.

    • @JontyMaster

      Yeah, I was quite surprised to see the German variation of the 1997 ident. I do remember seeing the "morph" variant on a CIC Video Logo History by CP1973 Productions.

    Cinema International Corporation has a lot of interesting logos, especially the ones from its video division. They are memorable among logo fans and their animation is great:
    • the 1970s logo from its movie division
    • the 1986 (8:42) logo from its video division
    • the 1991 logo seen on international tapes from CIC
    • the last logo seen from 1997 to 1999 as well as the Feature Presentation bumper (at 17:44)

    • @JontyMaster
      @JontyMaster  Год назад +1

      I agree with your picks. The 1970s logo has pretty cool music and nice animation. The 1986 logo is quite tense and would definitely bring excitement to those getting ready to watch a movie. The 1991 logo is interesting, due to the fact that they show the Paramount and Universal logos, meaning that they release tapes on films from those companies. And the 1997 logo is a great send-off for the final years of CIC Video. The 1997 is probably my most favorite.

    • @maghead768
      @maghead768 Год назад +1

      @@JontyMaster The 1997-1999 logo also has some unique animations that look the same but different. For example the Coming soon ones,etc have the logo falling though the C shapes like it was some kinda game show and the feature presentation ones have the logo colliding with the C shapes instead of Dodging them witch give me theory’s that the older the company gets in the final years of CIC,the logo also gets older and barely tries to dodge the C shapes.
