Viacom has some of the most nostalgic logos I've come across, especially the Pinball, V of Steel, the 1978 V of Doom, the 1999 robot voice, and the Wigga Wigga idents. The Special Delivery is especially memorable. Brilliant logo history. Looking forward to future stuff.
You know what I got out of seeing these logos again is that the various sources of the V of Doom are interesting, the music at 10:27 sounds cool, the other pronunciation of Viacom used in the 6th and 8th logo still sounds bizarre, the reverse plasters are very common with the audio swaps and that one case of the Lorimar theme at 10:02 and I like all of these logos for the overall look of them (animation, music, and the sound effects it uses)
Viacom has a pretty interesting library of logos, and many of them are memorable in the logo community. However, despite their fantastic logos (and television shows), Viacom has an infamous reputation for sueing RUclips in 2005/2006 for allowing people to upload their (and Nickelodeon's) content on the site, then taking down numerous videos on RUclips containing content such as SpongeBob SquarePants and etc. I personally think Viacom was a better company before 2005. The 1976 logo (infamously known as the "V of Doom") was one of the first logos I saw before my interest on logos and idents started to kick in (in late 2019 as far as I remember), and I guess it was one of the logos that started the whole infamous "scary logos" trend that has been going on since the early days of RUclips. There are also some interesting and pretty rare variants such as the greenish coloured variant at 9:21. What I think are the best logos from Viacom would be the 1984 "Special Delivery" logo (6:16), 1986 and 1990 logos.
In the filmed version of "V of Doom" what they did was that on a special table where the animators drew, they drew what the logo is and simply with a camera they zoomed in on that logo, And the text was already separate in CelAnimation! Here if you look at the logo when it was recorded on a 35mm roll at the top of the video you can notice how there is something holding the paper where the logo is drawn: ruclips.net/video/OAn84fZv4V4/видео.htmlsi=HzIB8N3IIGHyOID1 Minute 1:17, Upper part of the screen is noticeable

I like the 9th logo from 1990-2000 especially the version at 9:31 with the flute

I think i hasn’t commented 2 year yet.

For me, that V of Doom is not that scary. Viacom had the same issue that with Screen Gems, it is well known because a "scary" logo.
