@@mikecricket113 I listen to some 11m FM yesterday. I may look for an all mode CB. Channel 29 FM was really busy. I dont have FM right now but I have been hearing more activity on 29. May have to get on there one of these months.
Great Antenna my friend ,… I’m. Running the President RW Texas with The President Lincoln 2 . Maybe I will hear you guys down here in Kentucky “ The Bluegrass State “ . Great video…… take care my friend
its totally possible I have worked people in Kentucky on channel 24 AM throughout the year. seems like its the official frequency. Thank you for watching and telling me what you are running. Its a great hobby. The original social media. 73
I really like it and it works really well on 10 meter too. Everything is extremely expensive these days for sure. But this antenna will improve tx and rx range. Just be careful of low limbs bridges and garages.
@@Stanley-o4f 🙁 try Grey Line. Morning and evenings usually lots of DX best times when the ionosphere is charged the most. I had a 5 minute QSO on 10 meter with a guy in San Diego, California today around 5 PM Eastern standard. Hardly any QSB. That’s interesting 🤔 about the trimming. I did not have to trim mine and it has worked fine on 10,11,12 meters. I did adjust the whip with the two set screws. But that was it.
I love mine. Except I would of liked being informed that them little windows around the coil have a blue light inside the coil. It lights up when you key up. Pretty cool unless you live in a state that has police that run blue lights and laws that can cause trouble for you if you have a blue light on your roof. I had to use black finger nail polish and paint over them little windows. We also have a hands free law so I don't need them knowing I'm talking with a mic in my hand.
I think in the manual it says something about the lights. And also that was a good idea to use the nail polish to block it out. As of the hands-free. Radio operators are exempt they’re talking about people using cell phones. At least that’s how in is in the keystone.
Well in my state as far as the hands free law. They say anything that distracts a driver counts. I had a woman rear-ended me not to long ago. Even though I know she was texting she told the trouper she was reaching for a pen that had fallen on the floor. So he still tagged her with distracted driver. Which is the same law with phones that nobody pays attention to here. Im in Ga.

I have this antenna with my 955 it works very well around town but very hard to make dx contacts. Would it better if I got a tri mag with some kind of fiberglass antenna like a skip-shooter or Francis? Thank you
Skip is all about conditions and right now the conditions are brilliant so get on the radio I’m sure you’ll make a contact as long as somebody can hear you. Dude, I just pick one of these up for the truck. So far so good. I like it.
They sure do great. And work well on 10 meter SSB with out a tuner.

ya i think im going with this antenna. whats messed up is that this antenna is cheaper then Wilson & has more Range then Wilson..

I must of gotten newer version cause mine has rg8x with white center tephlon on coax connector so not too bad
Or a modified one from a truck shop technician. I know our local cb shop was upgrading them as well
I just bought that antenna to run on the Stryker 955 hpc. Seems like I cut 3” off just to get the swr to 1.5 and 2 radio is awful quiet these days

We tested this against the K40 and found very small difference over a 5 KM range.
K40? Alright. I’ll look into it

Doesn’t running it through the door like that kink the hell out of it
Where else you going to run a mag mount?
I run mine the same way in my trunk of my car it does not affect anything just makes a small mark on the outer coax but does not affect anything
I ran mine behind the weather stripping along the door for the extended cab in my Silverado and haven’t had any issues with it getting pinched.
