I'm a truck driver that travels the U.S and I really appreciate the DoorDash drivers that brings food to me at truck stops & places I deliver freight to. I usually tip in the $15-$20 range because you guys are a blessing when I want a hot meal from my favorite restaurants. I also send a screenshot of Google maps to show my exact location and how to get to me. So for all of you Dashers, thank you & drive safe

Definitely because it was Sunday. I don't think I'd recommend doing this on say, a Tuesday.
I've been doing an experiment of my own this month. Disclaimer, my bf mostly supports me. So I basically work for health insurance, phone bill, personal expenses, but I'm not responsible for a mortgage or rent. So I work sporadically. Therefore, if the orders suck, I log out & go home. So my acceptance rate is unusually high, but had still dipped below 60%. When DD put out that nonsense about $35 orders for top Dashers, I thought, I bet I can prove that wrong. So I ran out & bumped my ratings up to like 85% real quick (on a wknd peak, so it was kinda guaranteed not to screw myself) & got back to Top Dasher for June. I didn't see any substantial difference in the orders they sent me. To be fair, I do more lunch than dinner, so the ticket totals are less, but I still got a lot of crap long distance orders. And as a top Dasher, I notice A LOT more of DD sabotaging the acceptance rate by sending orders on pause & after END DASH. It's like extra anxiety inducing manipulation especially for top dashers. Ironically I used the exact same phrasing as in this video, "saving my declines to use on terrible orders". With this mindset, imagine them just randomly using up one of your declines while you're on pause. You know, that screen that reads We will not send you orders while you are paused. 🤔🤦🤷
So, yeah. My Top Dasher experiment ends the month with no orders over $35. And plenty of manipulation along the way. Along with low ball long distance trips. If they want Top Dasher to mean anything, they should consider awarding tip transparency to those that achieve it. Until then, I'm stepping back into the Decline Line.

I made $157 in 5 hours today only taking no less than $6 orders with good miles. That’s $31 an hour. Those grocery store orders are my new best friend. Love them. Especially since I’m getting super quick with grocery shopping and most of the time the grocery orders where I live are high paying, low mileage orders. I’m talking 12 and up. Highest one today was for $29.
Don’t sleep on the grocery orders if you get them. If you’re quick it’s definitely worth it. I look forward to those now. Literally hanging out by the nearest Safeway to wherever I am at the time.
Oh and gas only costed me $17 today. I typically fill up after every shift to be ready to roll for the next day. So about $17-$20 on gas each day.
Even if you subtract my 17 from gas I still made $28 an hour which is really good. Most than what a lot of people get at their day job. Which is why I love the hustle.

Saturdays & Sundays are when respectable people with careers are off, and they want to receive well deserved stay at home pampering by not having to drive. Statistically during the week it a manure storm of entitlement offers from people in seedy and demographically challenged areas, who live off of the social system. It’s a sad reality. But, I’ve been DoorDashing full time for 3 weeks, with 777 orders under my belt. I’ve delivered to drug infested area where yellow crime scene tape “decorates” the landscape like tp paper with high school pranks. I’ve delivered to blue collar neighborhoods, housing projects, and mansions. I’ve noticed certain trends. Demographics, positioning, and timing is the holy trinity, which beckons the DoorDash gods.
