Used to work for Lexus and drove plenty of these cars. This video doesn’t do the sound of this car any justice, it sounds much much better in person. And this is coming from an ISF owner. The LC500 is divine.
Can you let us know what’s better between this bad boy and the all new Lexus IS500f? I can’t tell if it sounds better than the LC but damn Lexus did a hell of a job with the commercial of it
@@LifelsGreat I’m no longer with Lexus, but if I had to compare I would choose the new IS500. Way more compact with the same power and it’s exclusive and limited just like the LC500. You’re basically choosing the same rare animal.. only thing is.. do you want a 4 door sedan or a 2 door coupe?

There's a clear change in engine note right at around 3,800 rpm when the cams change over. Lexus has some of the best automatics in the business. They are regular old torque converters so you get the reliability over a DCT yet the shifts are still really really quick. And unlike most cars that shift for you while in manual mode, put any Lexus in manual mode and it'll bang off the limiter till the engine warps.
J J says the Lexus fanboy who trolls on Mercedes videos all the time! Lmao at you your disgusting double standards! "So shut the f up" AFTER YOU you pathetic hypocrite!!!
I own one these and I absolutely love it. You cannot imagine how much attention this car draws. I have the INFRARED color and I am constantly getting people chasing me, tailgating me, thumbs up. No I didn't get out a beat the shit out of him because it's SEATTLE!!
Hello, Mike here. I designed the screws that hold the tachometer indicator in the Lexus LC 500 models with carbon fiber door sills. The patent ends in 2019 if anyone is interested in the assembly of the overflow line. I teach classes on Sumdays in Burbank if not in the area.
I love the car but i feel like it would've been so much more desirable had it been a second faster in the 1/4 mile, and they could have easily done this with a slightly more aggressive tune and an exhaust being a tad bit more 'unhinged' if you will. It gets 13.0 seconds in a 1/4 mile which is the exact same time my g37 gets and the lexus is over USD$100,000
Yes, I am also curious to know how's your set up and equipment used. I have never seen anyone execute an exhaust video as well as you did here. Two thumbs up!! Great job!
Pretty simple. An Audio Technica shotgun with Furry cat windscreen taped onto the rear exhaust wired into the cabin and recorded with a Zoom H4N. Thanks for the comment!
My god this car sounds awesome!! but how does this Lexus get better gas mileage then my 2002 lexus es300, my car only gets 19 mpg while this one boasts 28 mpg?
This engine which is also in the Lexus RCF can be red-lined all day without a problem. Forged connecting rods and titanium valves, not your ordinary type of car here.
Yes, but it's just because it's the average of multiple short trips from other auto journalists. If driven for a longer period, the average would be much lower.
Pain Yahiko had an honor to testdrive new LS500 2018 and i just started the car and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. You know the fuel economy was 199 L/100km but that does not say anything. Drove an Audi Q7 4.2 TDI 15.6 overall under NORMAL driving. So I do not see even 27 as a big number...
Jevgeni Ardassov 199L/100km? That's a lie. Even F1 cars going full tilt averaged better. That's 2 litters per kilometer. You will need to gas up every 75 kilometers driving the new LS if it consumes 199L/100km as you claimed. So if you're traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco, you will need to stop for gas about 8-10 times just to get there.
nice sound, but honestly, 30 l/100km? what, you've got a range of 300 km on a tank? EVERYTHING will pass you, especially if you're taking a break to refuel. it may be NA, it may be a v8 but looking at the mileage, it just doesn't cut it. I was honestly expecting 15-18 l/100 max. And this guy didn't even hunt it on the autobahn to test the top speed...

You’re right. Even though I recorded the audio with some good gear, it’s not the same as being there. Thanks for the comment.
Wanna make your car sound like this? Get the X Force exhaust and do a muffler delete. It’ll sound like this but louder.

This is actual video off the tach. Someone commented that it was a video game, nope. Its the real thing.

Cecil L my mazda 6 also doesn't upshift automatically I love it
Cecil L cause they already know that a little limiter banging won't break anything. Cause after all it is a Lexus
That cvt gearbox is shit.

Sounds nicer then a c63
Evan Violin and costs more
that's not bad considering this is more a competitor to the s550 coupe which starts at $124k

Gorgeous sound... What a lovely cAR
Thank Lexus for this beautiful NA V8 sounds amazing better than all those turbocharged v8s.
Ngl. I have one and I wish it was twin turbo. I like the noise and it could use at least another 100hp

I'm surprised it let you hit the rev limiter like that. Awesome.
That’s how a V8 should sound!

@3:16 you can hear the VTEC kick in yo! Seriously though, at 3,500 rpm you can hear the change of the engine note.

But LFA Is the best sound in the world ♥️
When are we going to see a video of this hitting max speed? I do more than 150kph on the 5km to work everyday.

is this pure engine noise or is it augmented by pre-recorded engine sound fed through the speakers ?

OMG! 27 litres / 100 km ? Even a Ferrari doesn't use that much fuel!
+TheMister Mann To be fair, the fuel economy is skewed because it had been driven hard on short trips from a bunch of auto journalists.
Even a small engine like a 1.6L can go much higher than that if you just drive slow and then rev and so on
My god this car sounds awesome!! but how does this Lexus get better gas mileage then my 2002 lexus es300, my car only gets 19 mpg while this one boasts 28 mpg?

RaceGT 33 with two oil pumps also! One to lubricate the engine internals, the other to return it back to the oil pan so it’s never starved for oil!
