    It's a shame that *ALL* industrialized nations' governments are too corrupt and too busy with keeping themselves in control, to actually commit long overdue important changes, like forbidding solderig in of more and more failure prone and relevant components in technology.

    Hi Sorin, to use the trojanized tool you could try a virtual machine software like VirtualBox or Hyper-V, you can even take a snapshot of the operating system before the exe execution and then revert back with a click. In this way you don't infect the host OS but eventually only the vm.

      I think the key is to just not run it on a computer with any of your personal details on it. Some malware can steal all of that and send it to someone and you might not even know it until you see expensive items on your accounts. They may likely be things you never would have bought in the first place. Usually expensive items they may want to resell or just things they wanted for themselves. Also do realize that Windows will often show a false positive on a lot of software like this. It takes one look at it and says it is a virus. It might not even tell you what it thinks it is or ask you what to do with it. Windows has a nasty habit of deleting things that it does not like. It wouldn't surprise me if someone pi$$ed off Microsoft and now Defender deletes their software from everyone's computers with the BS excuse that it is a virus. All they have to do really is tell Windows defender that any list of files is bad and it would flag them as a virus when it finds them. Or all it has to do is anything unusual that a virus might do really.

    I think the black glue may be applied so that the RAM chips don't move when reflowing the top of the board in the factory.

  • @joelcarson4602
    @joelcarson4602 Год назад +2

    If it's not a pure silicone glue, if it's like the glue used in a BUNCH of consumer electronics that turns brown, corrosive and conductive, that could be a reason for failure. The fact that the glue we see here is black could mean there's a fair amount of carbon compounds in it already, just itching to degrade and become conductive.

    How does that black glue prevent you from soldering in new RAM chips? Is it a resin based glue? You can remove most resins and glues easily with some heat, or adequate chemicals ..

    • @BEdmonson85
      @BEdmonson85 Год назад +1

      The glue is not the problem. The glue is there to keep the ram chips from coming off the board when the other components on the other side are soldered, so if he tried to reflow those chips, other stuff would be damaged.

    After seeing all the nonsense you deal with with Lenovo laptop repairs, I'm thinking maybe I'll stay away from anything Lenovo. I guess it's not too bad if you know what to expect & how to diagnose them, it pays the bills, but without the specific Lenovo knowledge you share with us, I can see some of us techs getting very frustrated 😖trying to repair Lenovo laptops with their weird faults.

    I know it's unlikely, but how can you be sure there is no malware in the new bios file?

    • @1337Ox
      @1337Ox Год назад +2

      I don't think there will be any malware in the BIOS after using the program, the program just changes some values in the file. I don't even think the program contains any virus at all. A lot of programs that changes how stuff work are detected as potential viruses but in reality they are not. But of course it never hurts, just to be 100% sure, to use different computer! Even some trailers (cheating software for videogames) are detected as malware because they change the values of game files in real time, but they are harmless, as long as you download from reliable sources and not some random russian page.
