Absolutely love the video. Keep it real. We moved here two years ago and have never looked back. We love it down here. Great video Ryan, and thanks for all the help getting into our new home.
I moved from the Hudson Valley to Walterboro in 2021. I love it here in SC and just had to endure a trip to NY just last week. I would never even consider moving back. Your video is spot on. One thing I want to add: Due to the massive exodus from the Northeast medical services here have been severely stressed...particularly Medicare services for those of retirement age. My wife is a large consumer of medical services and needs to see several specialist doctors. Luckily she has doctors that we found in 2021 because many doctors here in 2024 are not accepting new patients in the whole booming Charleston area. If anyone has a chronic condition or requires some specialty service don't assume you will find a doctor taking new patients.
😂Freaking fantastic video! Spot on. Just reaffirms that we made the perfect choice following you and moving here from upstate NY. I’ll pay some fees to keep SC RED - and how about those property taxes?! 😊
My husband & I moved to Summerville from the San Francisco Bay Area. If you are a God, family, country type you will love it here. If you are a woke Democrat you will hate it here& just so you know we do not intend to change. Everyone here owns at least one gun, it’s a way life here. Summerville is very patriotic. Our orchestra always begins with the Star Spangled Banner, many meetings for various organizations begin with God Bless America. Honking your car horn should only be done if someone is about to hit you, otherwise it’s considered bad manners to use your horn. We all go to church or synagogue regularly too. There are only 3 things I miss….shopping, there is none in Summerville. No opera either or authentic Chinese food. Here we have Asian Bistros where they say they serve Thai, Chinese & Japanese. Unfortunately, they don’t do any of those cuisines well. I’d kill for some dim sum at this point! We love Summerville, but think hard because it’s not for everyone.
How long ago did you move from CA? My husband and I are coming to SC in September to check out Charleston and Summerville. We've lived in Sonoma Co. for 36 years and looking for a place to retire with normal, nice people (no wokes!).
@@LugnutLdy99 I’ve been here 11 years. Of course, there are more people here now than there were in 2013. We have traffic now, not like SF though, no shootings on 26. The heat & humidity in the summer was a challenge at first, but my blood has thinned quite a bit. I’ve learned to love the warm evenings. If you have more questions feel free to ask me. Hope you find a great place!
Thank you Marie! Honesty is always the best policy! Especially when you’re buying and moving to an area people may no nothing about. Thank you again and I look forward to helping you with this process. 👍🏻
Love the video Ryan. My wife and I are planning on moving down in a couple years with our little son from Rochester NY. Getting weird up here. And VERY dangerous. Love all your points. Chris G
It was getting weird 9yrs ago, I can't imagine how much more weird it could be getting! Glad you enjoyed, please reach out when it's time for you to buy!
We live in Carnes Crossroads and moved here for just north of Albany, NY (Clifton Park). I’m from Rochester, NY. Best decision we ever made. We love it here.
A lot of people associate conservative values with religion but in reality they are two different things. Yes there are plenty of god fearing people and churches in Summerville, it is after all in the deep south but the majority of people here aren't necessarily religious they are conservative and have conservative values. We believe in safe clean neighborhoods, good schools, the law and yes we own lots of guns. Point is don't be scared off because you think we are a bunch of bible thumpers down here it's not like that at all. It's a very accepting community as long as you are a good person regardless of where you came from.
I can't wait to move there in a few months, Great information as always I appreciate the honesty...although we may need to talk about the snakes though 😂😂 😂
We especially loved this video. We are leaving Colorado because of all the blue crap going on here. But we are concerned about all the folks bringing their radical views with them to SC. God, guns, and country, indeed. Thanks for all of your great content.

I’m from Summerville, Moved out of there in 2020. I remember when oakbrook only consisted of Hardee’s and USA gas station. I worked at Quincy’s Steakhouse when I was in high school. Class of 88. Go Greenwave!!
Just stay away from old orangeburg road and Robynwin neighborhood, also anything on Ladson road and miles Jameson road, it’s one big hood now. Summerville in itself is becoming one big hood.
The price of homes is ridiculous now and traffic is the same I came from a small town and hate this where I lived I couldn't see my neighbor south is not friendly my neighbors i do not know and they don't want to know me .
@@anthonyrodriguez218 Generally, taxes, insurance and utilities are less here compared to other expensive parts of the country. However, the housing demand is driving up prices but still affordable when all things are considered. Especially now with interest rates coming back down.
Great info thank you. Me and my wife are looking for no woke junk and republican. We do not want liberal atmosphere. That's said this place is in my scope.
