Soooo excited for our move this year. Currently building a house in Woodwinds at Cane Bay on .25 acre lot.. we lucked out! Can’t wait for our new lifestyle. 👍🏻😊
Our whole family moved from New York to The Ponds in June. Even though we didn’t use you as our realtor, we watched all your videos about Summerville and found them to be very interesting and informative. One con you didn’t mention is how incredibly hot the summers are!
Why did you not use him as your realtor but made certain to mention the fact? Just curious 😊 NY to SC has to be a huge difference Specially if you were from NYC :)
Trees and Nature are vital for our Health. Bigger is NOT always better. I've worked for US Census & as EMT..there should be a limit to # of ppl. And one wonders why there are many accidents & ambulances enroute.
I went to college here but we moved from Brooklyn to Summerville. We live in Legend Oaks (new side) so its still pretty easy to manage…once Homecoming gets going…I’ll be saying different 😬 My in laws made the move from CT to the Lakes of Cane Bay…now my cousins just bought in Dunes West in Mt P….
Great video Ryan! For those of you who emphasize complaints you have to be realistic. Like Ryan said with growth comes traffic but now this area has tremendous Restaurants and bars as well as new grocery stores and shops. Yes food service has taken a step back but it’s not everywhere. The weather here is beautiful 90% of the time and yes it’s hot that’s why it’s called the south. I am building with Ryan in a 55+ neighborhood. I only wish I was able to raise my family in one of the many master planned communities where my kids could swim and play and ride golf carts. There’s a lot to love here embrace it!
My son works for a big company who aids NASA. That’s all I’ll say about that My little baby family moved from Arizona to Summerville South Carolina and he loves it well they love it. So I’m very interested in listening to this video as I myself am a realtor here in Arizona so let’s get back to the video
Traffic traffic traffic jams the biggest con down here cause they’re not gonna make the highway any bigger and I’ve been down here 3 1/2 years and it’s gotten ridiculous how fast this place is grown usually when you got past goose Creek the traffic thin out and pretty much Somerville was the last exit but now it’s jampacked past Summerville
My son and I took my dad my son’s grandfather out to red Robin where we ordered three burgers and two soft drinks and the tab was $47 so if you can make it out of a restaurant with a party of six for a $100 you’re doing pretty good 😉🙃😉
My two smallest sometimes don't eat. So the two older kiddos will sometimes split a meal. It really comes down to where you go. We did a food truck one night and spent $85 but we all ate!
I just made the same comment… We had three red Robin burgers and two soft drinks and the bill was $47 that did not include the tip and the service was great which meant my entire tab was $59.00
Traffic is such a hassle now if you want to go to folly beach on a Saturday you better leave to get down to the beach before 7 or 8am or be stuck in traffic all day and yes that’s in the off season Didn’t mention the new resident Fee that SC DMV charges you when moving in plus having a yearly vehicle or boat property tax, plus hardly anyone has auto insurance and everyone is lawsuit happy Don’t get me wrong yes it’s warm and low housing taxes but Summerville has grown so much I lived in town for 4 years and left because it changed so much and driving to work once took me 5 minutes then it became up to 15min to drive 2 miles, Plus I lived 8 miles from target in azalea square and on a weekday evening or weekend daytime it would take 45min to go the same distance Oh btw over half of cane bay doesn’t even have cellular service and the school is extremely overcrowded
The Hostess is so important After all they are the first person you communicate with when you walk in the door. Unfortunately most restaurants but they’re very youngest and incompetent people in the hostess position
Your videos are great but I could make a suggestion. You have a sweaty sheen on your face in many of them. Once, you were outside on one one of them and pretty soaked. One of the reasons for our apprehension to moving there is the brutal heat and humidity in the summers. How really hot does it truly get there and for how long? This is only mentioned briefly on other vlogs also.
I was born and raised there, do not live there anymore. The summers are brutal, especially the humidity. Whenever people from out of state would come visit they had a really hard time dealing with the heat. I didn't understand how bad it was until I moved. Hahaha
Here in Tampa bay a 2/1 house about 1000sf costs about 280. You can barely get a decent size house for less than 350. I think Summerville is affordable
WITH THAT INCIDENT AT THR RESTAURANT..THE OWNER WAS PROBABLY NOT COMING FROM THE SOUTH BECAUSE SOUTHERNS ARE USUALLY HOSPITABLE..THEY SOUND LIKE SOMEBODY COMING FROM NORTH LIKE NY BECAUSE NY PEOPLE ARE VERY RUDE😂😂😂.
@@RyanMcHughLivinginSummerville well your own words don't make it sound different than mine... the ppl are slow, the traffic matches, it rains left and right, and the prices for sustainable life is a joke... if the prices points didnt change S.C. wud be considered subpar... 😂

The traffic is always terrible in Summerville expect after 10 pm or before 7am. I lived there 12 years and could not take it anymore. I don't miss it. Plus the drivers are the worst I have ever had to deal with, but that goes for all of South Carolina. That is one reason why car insurance is so high. That and many uninsured motorist. @@RyanMcHughLivinginSummerville

How do you pay to build the new house before you sell your current house ?? Just wondering. All out money is in the equity of this house 🥴

How do you like The Ponds?
That is a Pro. I wouldn't want it any cooler.
Florida is 90+ 5 1/2 months a year. I think it’s just as hot in SC but not for 5 1/2 months. May to half way thru October. ItsHell

Hiiii. Do the hoas allow RV parking? Is there secure storage nearby if not that won’t cost a fortune?
My son works for a big company who aids NASA. That’s all I’ll say about that

Just curious when will the connecting road from Summerville to West Ashley be done???

😶
Wife and I went out for breakfast yesterday in Ill. It was 50.00 with tip it’s a rip off 100 for six is a bargain 😊
WTH. Too much. Of course eggs are 7 $ in Tampa
$100 for family if 6!?! That’s a huge pro!!! In NH, it’s $150 for family of 4😢😢😢. Sign me up for eating out more I SC👍👍👍

Hospital wages are horrible comparatively speaking
I live in Cane Bay summerville

This is exactly what I'm trying to get away from

It sucks period...
I'll be honest I've never had it suck period yet. Sometimes the traffic sucks, sometimes the weather sucks... never the entire thing sucks period.
