That advice is amazing, and especially Tara and her honesty, oh my goodness, how refreshing❤️. I have to say that Leslie Vernick wisely teaches that there is a difference between a disappointing marriage, a difficult marriage, and a destructive marriage. Complacency within a destructive marriage is not ok. If one spouse is habitually sinning by emotionally and verbally destroying and neglecting the other spouse without repentance, if the neglected and wounded spouse is unheard, consistently disregarded and is left to suffer cognitive dissonance and damage to self-worth, it will also erode physical health along with mental health. Staying in this situation is destructive for children to watch as it informs them of how to live a "Christian" life and live out s "Christian" marriage one day, if they choose marriage at all because of seeing toxicity. It is not the same as accepting a C- marriage, where there are some disappointing aspects and the other spouse doesn't want to make more effort to enjoy an A+ marriage but it's not toxic and destructive. This is a fantastic podcast episode. Thank you for this resource!
That is so true…a lifetime is not long enough to know someone. ❤. I love that, stay curious. It is so true…if you change everything about your spouse, you wont recognize the person that is left. ❤
I was in Teen Challenge on the coast of Oregon and we were on a choir outing at a small church in a beautiful little hamlet and at the after service potluck afterwards I saw a older couple walking in a I asked her how long they had been married and she said that they celebrated their 71st anniversary the previous year.

"Teaching me to love the man I married, and Not the man I wanna make him" ......I am 47yrs old and been married 17yrs and I have NEVER heard a wife say that!! Most marriage commentary is about how the husband needs to change. It's an episode of the man saying "i messed up" for 90% of the content. This is similar, but that statement was HUGE for us who a wondering if we are ever actually cared for
This really hit home today. Both me and my prodical spouse are guilty of this. Especially me. I was actually watching videos of firearm training, when this appeared.
I don’t actually believe that God has a husband or wife for everyone. If He did, every Christian would be married. Many desire a spouse and pray for marriage but it never happens for them. Nowhere in the scriptures is there any promise of marriage

I highly recommend to everyone the book: Your Life Your Game by keezano🙌🏼 I read and it changed my life, it shows how connecting with God and your inner self can lead to spiritual growth and financial success. A must read

Literally thought Beverly Mitchell was on Focus On The Family! 😅
Identify the feelings, care about the feelings, and seek to understand or be understood.
Married 34 years and sounds so familar.

I've been married for 36 years and this sounds very familiar!
I completely know how it feels to want to walk away to take care of myself.

Amen 🙏 ❤
What about a spouse that is rude and disrespectful and not getting help?
