THANK YOU for this honest opinion! Other youtubers are just NOT being honest with us!!! It's so difficult to find an honest and unbiased one these days...
Insta360 has a compatibility list on the flow product page. It clearly shows that most of the Samsungs don't have 4k 60 frames. FPS. However, I use Google Pixel and most of them have 4K 60 FPS functionality. It may not be that other RUclipsrs are lying about their experience with Android, it could just be that they're using different devices. That's a part of the challenge with Apple versus Android. Companies have a much easier time making things compatible with iPhone because there's very little variance across the limited product line. Whereas with Android, you have a myriad of manufacturers and models that make it hard to have widespread compatibility.
I also noticed the jittery effect same as you. When I use the Insta360 Flow App my Galaxy S10 the battery drains really quick too. It's like a percent drain per minute use. Probably higher. So I just use my S10 native camera and get nice smooth videos and normal battery life. Thank you for your vlog.
Thanks for watching! Wow that battery drain is a bit unusual, I didn't experience that battery drain on my note 20 ultra. The native camera app is good, but you lose the tracking ability which makes this gimbal the same as any regular gimbal...
@@ToasterVentura I have a new battery installed in my phone as well. Maybe my phone is just too old. Something also about the Insta360 app, it doesn't record in H.265 so get big files in H.264.
Tilt axis has a simple work around. Stick your elbow out so that it looks like you're holding the gimbal sideways. You can the move it up and down and the movement is accommodated by the rotate axis instead.
Appriciate for your honest review, I was just about to buy Insta 360 gimbal for my Samsung A52s 5G, but now keep hold & lets see another. I will be much thank full if you can give your review/openion about .....DJI Osomo 6 for my device Samsung A52s 5G also for other samsung/oppo/huawei users. I would say Dji osmo 6 should upgrade tracking power .....not to loose the object once selected ....as insta 360 flow....which is more convinent for self indipendent picturising.
Hey, i have the A52s 5G, which gimbal did you go for? Im just starting my photography and Videography journey and thinking of buying an s24 ultra later aswell. Do you think a52s 5G is enough to start?
Well, this was bad timing. I just unpacked this product and now I'm going to return it. I attached my phone but I can see there is going to be a steep learning curve with possibly poor results. I wish I had seen your review 2 days ago. Every review I read raved about this product so time to start over. Thanks for the honest review.
Yes the issues exist but I've not had the vibration problem. The tilt is limited but holding it out sideways it'll use the rotate axis so you can still use it for full range. I'm very happy with mine using it with my iphone12pm.
@sheenpeen8697 when I had this gimbal I didn’t roll with apple yet so I am not 100% sure but tbh I think IOS apps are usually well developed. Other than image stabilization I would say everything else I thought was negative in my video applies to all phones
@@sheenpeen8697 The only thing I've noticed is when using an external microphone. The app only starts recording the sound after 3 seconds. The video is fine, and the audio from the phone's microphone is OK.
It was absolutely terrible with my Pixel 7 Pro which sucked because I was super excited to get it and bought the flow immediately after it released. Support told me it was because of the refresh rate of my phones front camera even though the phone is listed on their supported devices list. I was eventually able to argue a return and refund since they advertised it as working with my phone when it clearly does not.
Thank you for helping me dodge a bullet! I was just about to purchase the Insta360 for my Pixel 7; now I will wait for a future version. Muchas gracias!
Dude, thank you for the honesty, honestly. I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro and looking to go back to Android this year and you’re the only one who really touched on these issues - which would really irritate me and cause regret. Your disappointment was well-channeled. Subscribed.
Thanks man I really appreciate the support. I am just trying to be real and tell the truth. I want this thing to work for all phones and I hope to see improvements in the next iteration
There was me thinking I was loving my new Insta360 Flow but this is my first gimble and you make some really interesting points. Thanks for a great review
I was wondering if I should buy insta360 flow and watched various videos. Other RUclipsrs highly recommend this, but I also have a Galaxy S23 Ultra, so I thought this insta360 flow was completely pointless. Even if Samsung is high resolution, 4K30p is nonsense for Insta360 flow. I decided not to buy this because of your review ! Thanks for the useful information !
NNNOOOOOOOOOO....I just bought the insta360 flow last night and I'm using a pixel 8 PRO. Wish I'd seen this video first! Thank you for keeping it real!
Thanks for your honest review! I lost trust for a lot of big youtubers when this came out. I almost bought it until I saw a few videos from real world people like you.
I'm just trying it. Gotta tell you I don't think I fully understood what I was purchasing. I just didn't have a clamp for my smartphone since the last one fell apart, so I grabbed this. I wish I had just gone for a simple selfie stick. The first problem is it says "make sure your phone is centred" Alas, no can do. My Google Pixel 7 Pro has its buttons on the side, so the clamp simply cannot be placed in the centre of the phone. I also keep it in a case for protection so the clamp doesn't fit as snugly as I'd like. Because the weight of the smartphone is lop-sided. I'm concerned the gimbal won't have the power to shoot horizontally and hold the phone that way. It seems to like being vertical - and I hate shooting vertical. I like 16x9 horizontal. Then I realised I really don't know what this thing is actually supposed to do, because nothing is intuitive about it, so it takes over the camera and films everything I don't want to film. It is like snake-charming a cobra with a mind of its own. Or maybe a snake that hates the snake charmer. I will seriously have to research how I should be using this thing and, at the moment, I'm still confused. I think it is like that old joke; "put it back in the box and take it back to the shop and tell them you're too stupid to own a camera"
thank you, i really like insta 360 x3 but at the moment I wanted to find something to use with my phone, I gotta samsung a55 so if the app creates microjitters i am concerned, thanks about your point of view
Thank you for this usefull honest video. May I ask what kind of phone you use, or recommend for making video's if it is not an IPhone? Just like you I am using a mac but not an IPhone. I now have an Oppo but the selfie camera is not working good anymore, so I need a new one? Any good recommendations? Thanks in advance for your reply.
I was using the Samsung note 20 ultra and the Galaxy fold 3. If you want to stick with android, I feel like Google pixel 8 pro camera really improved quite a bit. The Galaxy s23 ultra is good too. I recently changed over to iPhone 15 pro max
@MoniqueOnAMission I feel a bit like a sell out but mainly 1. Camera performance and video quality is very good 2. UsbC makes the iPhone 15 pro max much more usable for media management and filming 3. Accessories such as the Apple Watch ultra 2 and AirTags are great for my use cases. Honestly the user experience in my fold 3 is much better than the iPhone stupid swipe functions.
@MoniqueOnAMission hahaha sorry my friend that’s my first world problem right there. Ok that depends are you an android person or Apple person. You can’t go wrong with the Galaxy s23 ultra, pixel 8 pro or iPhone 15 pro for photos and videos. It depends on your preferences and ecosystem that you have bought into. I want professional grade video from a phone which is why I went with IPhone 15 pro because it can shoot in apple log at super high bit rate. 99 percent of people don’t need that function
Hello. Great vid. Does the shaking of the image still persist now? I wanted to buy one, I use a phone with android... want to have a clear and stable image, of course :)
@@ToasterVentura Thanks! But... (I'm not tech savvy, just asking) IF the gimbal/stabilization of the device is good, and the phone camera films, then why would the image be shaky from the app, since the phone camera does all the work?
@gtyah you made a super valid point. In my testing there are a couple red flags that made me return this gimbal. 1. It was restricting video frame rate and not let me use 4k 60 which is available on my native camera app. 2. It shuts off image stabilization that resolves a lot of micro gitters even when you are using gimbal. No gimbals are perfect and image stabilization will help a lot.
@gtyah also that gimbal is not that good with stability due to the flexible extending arm. But that’s just me since I own over 10 gimbals and I really get to compare and contrast
Ok, I literally bought this today! I haven’t opened it yet. I bought it to track my movements when doing my crafting live videos. What do you recommend instead? I just want something to track me from one point to the next. Literally only moving a few feet at a time. Not using it as a gimble.
Ok if you are just using this as a tracker then this will work just fine. A lot of my points are based on stabilization and software compatibility issues with built in camera stabilization. Tracking was fine for me
Footage looked good on the phone with a galaxy 20s plus, but pulling it off the phone I now realize how compressed it looks and not happy with the app. The apps zoom is also horrible compared to crop zooming in to a pic in the phones native app. It also defaults into vertical mode, so if you started the video in vertical then switch to horizontal, mid filming, you now have footage in vertical filmed horizontally. I wish there was a setting to just turn off vertical filming all together and make it default to horizontal as well as a button to choose a compression setting so it doesnt compress so hard. Also in all "flow modes" it seems like Auto tracking is always on, which is annoying 90% of the time, since it starts tracking random things I dont want it to because it thinks its smart, and takes away from the shot when youre trying to shoot at a vanishing point and it decides to start tracking a random tree or oncoming traffic. Then takes away from the shot when you have to redirect it with manual adjustment from the joystick. I'm probably just going to ditch the flow app all together. Pros: its a gimble with a joystick and a built in tripod thats a compact package. The auto tracking is neat and useful but not so much in needs to be ON in all settings with no ability to turn off.
Before you open it you can download the Dji Mimo app and test out the camera app before buying a gimbal. I will make a video to let everyone know this!
I glad I jumped into this video I am looking for honest review for the long time for my s23 ultra, as I already predicted it's a heavy and insta 360 will not going to handle it so, Please suggest me which gimbal is best for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra phone with AI feature
Yo thanks for watching! TBH I feel like Android is tough to shop for a good gimbal mainly due to software app compatibility with video codec and image stabilization. I am going to make a video to address this soon please consider subscribing! Check out Hohem and DJI, Zhiyun gimbals too
@@ToasterVentura Hello. I also wanted to order Insta 360, but I came across your video and now I’m abandoning this decision. I have a Samsung S24 ultra and I’m really looking forward to your video reviewing the top gimbals for Android smartphones. Thank you for your video and your work!
I wish I had ceen this BEFORE I bought. I had just discovered that Andriod phones don't have any user control, almost all auto. I have been searching for a fix but don't think there is one at this time. I watched your video and appreciated it very much. My question is when you did the comparison of the Flow vs. your phones native camera software. Where you on the gimbal and using the phones native camera or doing handheld with the phones native camera stabilization? I did try on my Pixel 8 to use the gimbal without the 360 app but it did not seem to respond in any meaningful way. Looking for a glimer of hope from you sir. Rock On! Rw
Yeah when I had the gimbal I tested both apps while it was on the gimbal and there was an obvious difference in performance. I was testing using my Galaxy note 20 ultra. You can use the native app with the gimbal but you lose tracking and other functionalities. It basically functions as a dumb gimbal but at least you get smooth footage
Thanks for great video! Appreciated your honest opinion, it answered my doubts about the Insta 360 Gimbal for android! I was trying to find out the drawbacks but it's difficult to find out. 👍
@@ToasterVentura Actually decided on Hohem M6 in the end - a demonstration showing the absolute failure of the Insta 360 to do a proper up/down tilt was the deciding factor!
Thanks for keeping it real not like the others on RUclips. You saved me wasting time and money as I was going to buy and try as an update to my DJI Osmo 5. To be honest, I see less and less use for phone gimbals if you have an action cam or other devices in the last few years with excellent stabilisation software. Even the latest phones can produce great stabilised footage with any extra attachment. Most of these mid level tech devices are both equally hardware and software driven compare to the high end tech that are hardware 1st with software integration.
Thanks buddy. Yeah if you check out my latest Google store visit video the whole thing was shot on the iPhone 15 pro max hand held. The stabilization is so good that we can slowly fade out most needs for a gimbal! I hope you subscribe to support my tiny channel!!
Hi mate. I have iphone 13mini and today i was going to buy instaflow 360. But now im confused. Start to look for something else. What could you suggest me please? Which one is compatible and better on stabilization?
So for realz I been trying so many including Zhiyun and the new Hohem. I say Hohem app at least have the option to turn on stabilization or not, Zhiyun doesn’t work too well and I heard Dji was ok only.
Hello , very good video thank you very much. But you forgot to mention a major problem of this gimbal : the very fragile joystick, mine broke after two weeks of use , this joystick broke when I tried to put the gimbal in my pocket. A quick research on the internet proves my point , a lot of people are facing this issue after a few days or weeks of use. Mine is actually on its way for repair , I do not know yet if Insta360 will be ok for a warranty repair ( they should be ok because it is clearly a design mistake , specially if you compare with the OM6’s joystick which much more robust ). I just to mention this issue to warn people before buying this joystick , just be aware that there is a major design flaw with the joystick and be ready to face problems.
I just watched your review and it's excellent. I bought this by mistake not realizing the Android problem. I just ordered the M6. The tracking on the M6 is independent of the app. I do have a question. Why do you have to use the app. Can't you just use the gimbal for stabilization and use the phone app for settings? Thanks
So you need the app for special functions like tracking. Without the app this is just a regular gimbal that cost too much. Insta360 is as much a software company as well as hardware.
Most of the flaws you mentions are on android, so is it safe to say that it's okay to buy this if you have an iphone? let's say iphone 12? Btw, thanks for the honest review, it doesn't matter if insta360 doesn't send you free units anymore to review because of this at least you helped other people. We need more honest reviewers here in YT
I think it works well with iphone and from what I heard the video stabilization works with apple. I am unable to confirm since I don't own one. Thanks for the support I really appreciate the kind comments 🙏
you are totally right in all, bad I see to late now your video, because already have one week the insta 360 and find all this out too, and I am so dissapointed with the flow, so bad that in android works likes a beta test
Even that the AI tracking is now working with all apps...but maybe everyone using Android should get the Hohem isteady M6 with an external AI Sensor (+light) to use whatever camera app they want to including all features of the gimbal...plus its way less janky and limited
Bought this on the promise of amazing AI subject tracking, but it jumps around like it's trying to track an imaginary cat with a chilli pepper up its butt. The subject tracking is utterly useless, it just does not work. On Android phones the ISO and shutter speed cannot be manually adjusted and the settings it automatically selects are often nonsense (for 30fps video on one phone it seemed to be prioritising 1/100s and on another it was prioritising 1/50s. At other times it set the shutter speed too high or too low when it still had usable range to move the ISO). There are also no bitrate or quality settings for video and the quality of the video it shoots is pathetic, significantly worse than standard video recorded with the default camera app (even video shot in bright sunlight looks like trash, even when played back on the small screen of the phone it looks like trash with very noticeable compression artifacts). AKA, it is NOT Android compatible. They claim on their website that it is "compatible with most smartphones on the market" but that's just an outright lie. If you forget about the subject tracking and use a decent camera app instead of the garbage insta360 app, then it's just a regular gimbal, but because of its limited movement range it's also just not very good at being a generic gimbal. The insta360 flow is just a failure in every possible way, you would be better off strapping your phone to a chickens head. Worst gimbal I've ever used, worse camera gear purchase I've ever made.
Dang dude your comment is more detailed than my review 😂. And I agree with you on this as it is the same as my experience especially with the artifacts. You can clearly see image degradation using the app. I think the target market is for beginners who can't tell the difference between good and bad.
Thank you from stopping me from buying this device cuz lower picture quality on app is a deal breaker to me. Watched heap of other reviews and not one said such important detail. You sir earned a subscriber What would you say is the best gimble for video quality?
Was a big disappointment for me when my OnePlus9 Pro, which shoots 4k120 was limited to 4k30 and still no firmware/software update to make use of capable android phones so I mostly use it as a "dumb" gimbal now.
I had the same problems with stabilisation and image quality with my Huawei P40 Pro and DJI osmo mobile 4. The phone can make a 4K 60fps video with nice stabilisation itself, but when you use the app it allows you to capture only with 4K 30fps which annoys. And other options worked not so good either in comparing with iPhone. So I launched DJI app and connected to the gimbal but used Huawei camera app to make a video with good quality and 60fps with a little bit more advanced stabilisation. I don't know why hadn't they optimised the app for android phones.
Because android it's a clusterfuck of different vendors, google can't enforce shit (except when it affects it's bottom line) and the minimum denominator support is what third party apps will give you, unless they do specific partnership with OEMs (like Instagram with samsung)
I changed to the iPhone (after over 12 years with android, mostly Samsung ones) and I’m loving it, though it’s much more limited as a PC / File manager. But as video camera it’s much better than Samsung. I previously noticed also that the insta360 Flow app on Android was much worse than the one for the iPhone, specially not having 4K60. As I didn’t bought one and I also have now am iPhone, maybe it got an update, but at the beginning it didn’t have. Absurd…
Just bought the Insta360 for my Pixel 8 Pro. And you are right: Insta360 is for Iphones! The Insta app do not recognize the 3 cameras on my phone. There is only 1x.
I'm an insta 360 X2 user paired with my Android phone, haven't had any issues with my 360 cam, was excited about the flow and was thinking about buying one. Could you tell if the native insta 360 app is any better on iOS?
To be fair I don’t have too many issues of the Insta360 app on either android and apple. Both worked well unless you are using it for the insta360 gimbal which has certain limits on camera app and image stabilization. If you are connecting your 360cam to the phone in your testing it works fine on both android and apple so you are good!
Micro-jitters make the app unusable on Android. I just got this today. Spent some time using it with S23+ - checked the footage - ugh. Like you say - it seems like the app is not using the phone stabilization or something, Tracking is the main reason I got this - need to use the app for that. But for real, the footage is unusable. AND there is no advanced settings control. But at least this is stated on their website. I have a few Insta360 products - pretty happy with the other ones. Insta360 does update their stuff often. So hoping they'll fix this in an update - could be a long wait. You are the ONLY place I've seen confirmation of this problem - and I've looked high and low. So THANKS for posting this!
Yes! I am not alone in this! Glad you tested with a newer phone too! The workaround is to use live mode then go back to your native Samsung app for tracking. But live mode tracking is hacky and unreliable and kills your batt quick. Did you find the insta app footage noisy and full of artifacts too?
Android has no inbuilt electronic image stabilization like IPhone has. The Insta360 can however address the mechanical image stabilization on both so iPhone images will always look more stabilized
I must have missed it, where did you see that statement? My findings are based on my user experience, the faq linked here and the footnotes on the device compatibility list. I am simply pointing out this key point that I have not seen in other reviews. I want this device to work as I like the tracking and compactness. Here is the faq I am looking at please let me know what you find. onlinemanual.insta360.com/flow/en-us/faq/app
I have a question. I already bought this gimbal. so would update come on it later? Could i for example make videos in 4k 60 fps later when update will come on my gimble or i forced to buy new insta 360 gimble to use such function?
There is no guarantee they will update the firmware to support 4k 60p. That being said if they do, you can upgrade the firmware via the insta360 app itself.
Thanks so much for this review...I just purchased this gimbal and played around with it and found that my iphone14 pro might be too heavy, it never stayed upright once powered up. I'm sending it back today. Any suggestions on other comparable products? The AI feature is not high on my list I just want smooth shots. I have also subscribed!!
I know this might sound ridiculous, but I brought the flow for one reason, and one reason only and that was to make 360° photos to use in VR. I have use some of the other features but mostly it’s been the 360 photos for me. The other features are just nice. So I understand how you feel but this does what I wanted it to do.
@@ToasterVentura am I right in assuming that this was the cheapest way to get 360° photos? I don’t think there’s any other gimbal that will do it. And I didn’t have enough money to buy an Insta camera.
You didn’t test the tracking features? You glossed over it. I’ve had it for a month and while I will agree that it has some flaws, for the most part I like it as it can track well and I can add a tripod leg to the gimbal that makes it more stable. I like how I can zoom while recording and most importantly I like the size/form factor. I’ll give it a B for first effort
I did on my first two recordings and I agree the tracking is amazing. But the image stabilization issue overshadowed the positives. It is fine if you really plan on just using the gimbal to film and track yourself. I hope they fix the stabilization issue via firmware for Android and then it will be a pretty good choice. ATM I don't recommend it because of the limitations on the app.
@@ToasterVentura the issues with android has been addressed by Insta360 where they say that only the mechanical stabilization can be enhanced while iPhone already has Electronic stabilization that is already stabilized plus mechanical by the gimbal. It’s a flaw that it has that doesn’t make it as compatible
I don’t know since I don’t have this gimbal anymore and I don’t have s21 either. I would check their site and see if they updated the compatibility list to support specific functions
Ive tried so many gimbals and have not been happy with any of them. Either glitchy, app sucking and being super slow to process. What is your favorite gimbal? Right now i use my s23 ultra.
Thanks for watching my video, if you want specific to phones my favorite now is the hohem Isteady m6 and I made a review on my channel. It is a bit bigger and bulkier but it has non app tracking. So you can use your native Samsung video app with image stabilization turned on and still retain tracking capabilities.
@@ToasterVentura does it support the Samsung 3x and 10x lenses? I've read that in some places, including the official FB group of Hohem that it doesn't... I'm confused now...
Hi, thanks for the honest review. I have a Samsung S23 Ultra phone, so can you recommend any other gimbal please? I liked the flow for its portability and ease of use, so those are the two things I would want, primarily the compactness. Thanks
I don't know if there are other good gimbals that's foldable. From my research DJI version has it's own flaws also and it's something you just have to live with if you want compact foldable. The hohem m6 is great but it's big and bulky
@Toaster Ventura Tech thanks for the quick reply. Is there one you can recommend then which will at least fit into a small bag? If not, I'll just wait. Thanks for your time and help.

Hi Sir if i extended to selfie stick the Dji Osmo Mobile 6, is it still Super Stable? Because this one accdg to your review and of others. When it was extended in selfie stick. It is not stable and tends to bend. And if thats the case then the STABILITY will be affected. We all know that Gimbal is for Stability not for longer battery. Thanks sir will wait for you reply
I don’t think it will be fair for me to say OM6 is more stable extended because I never tried that gimbal. It’s a risk you need to take if you are considering either gimbal. I think for 90% people using the insta will be happy.
works as expected with longer battery life than my previous Osmo4, was tempted with the extender and some other features of the Osmo6 but the battery got the nod.@@ToasterVentura
I am worried now. 😅 I do not know if Samsung S22 plus will be compatible to insta360 flow gimbal??? Huhuhu Hopefully it will be alright planning to buy one so that I can use it for photograhy and videography for my upcoming Japan tour and vacation🙏☺️❤️ BTW tnx alot for honest opionion
I have the iPhone 15 pro max and it’s okay only. I must say all the apps and eco system does work wayyyyy better than Android in many ways. Especially gimbal apps
Hmm I say osmo will have better compatibility with android. I am not sure if insta updated their firmware to better support android since it’s been a few months since I sold the flow
I want to thank you in advance for the excellent honesty shown and I was quite convincing and I will wait for an update to see if it has the confident improvements that make me buy thanks and continuations of excellent videos hug friend
Youforgot to mention that you can either use hand gesture mode to start the video or tracking (at least from my experience with it) but not both at the same time, and that doesn't make sense if you are a solo player. So disappointed and frustrated....
Can't figure scenario where it's can be matter? The only thing you may want is a record youself with tracking. Why you need to track yourself with no recording?
I think it’s the same point. We do want the tracking and recording to start at the same time and it doesn’t. You basically have to do two sets of gestures which is not the most convenient
Yes I can, but the object tracking is via the insta360 app. Using your native phone app will not have tracking then you might as well just use any older regeneration cheap phone gimbal at that point
I need to buy one and test it out! Just got the Hohem v3 and the app is not very compatible with android either. Zhiyun smooth 5s AI is, but not perfect. Check out my Smooth 5s ai gimbal review also! Thanks for the sub my friend
So, I'm basically looking at a gimbal mostly for taking photographs with the native app in my S23U, just to get stabilization at extreme zoom ranges and to help with composition with difficult angles. Would it be worthy? Am I crazy? Can I just get a cheaper gimbal for doing this? Thanks to whoever may help me
Ok I tried doing that as well with my note 20 ultra and result is shakey. Just get a tripod for super cheap if that’s what you need. Gimbal is still susceptible to shakes due to your hands and body movement
Thank you for saving me a brutal experience. I thought S23 Ultra would work well with Flow. Android users always get the short end of the stick it seems.
My problem with the flow is that the app is asking for full read-and-write permission to my entire video and photo library. More than just videos I have created using the device. everything. It doesn't explain why it needs these permissions or what it is going to do with them. But knowing that it is AI-based gives me a fairly clear idea. They want to have full access to both my personal and the content I use to earn money to train their AI model. I receive no recognition, attribution or compensation for offering my entire library of content and personal photos and videos. They are also making unknown modifications to them. For my commercial content that could lead to them claiming copyright by modification or by invalidating my copyright because I failed to defend the copyright against their claim. So No thank you. If you want my data let's set up a contract and you can pay me $USD500,000 a month for it unlimited use. Once we have a model for content source by AI for training that includes attribution and compensation I might be more interested in your product.
@@ToasterVentura But in that case, you are effectively giving them permission by posting your content on their site. With Insta 360 they are going through your gallery stored on your device or in your cloud storage. That is the difference. What if they used your video to compose promotional videos using AI without attribution or compensation? It looks like they could do exactly that when you provide your permission for read and write access. It's just like taking paragraphs from an academic paper stringing them together and calling it an original work.
We always have to wonder whether 'reviewers can make more money (from other manufacturers) by thrashing products than praising them! How can we ever know for sure.
Maybe if you are a big RUclipsr but legally you have to disclose it if there are any types of sponsorship. But you are right no one knows for sure, whatever floats your boat. We all have the right to think and say what we want.
If you find a wireless mic that has usbc pass through then yes. I think the Hohem wireless Mic 01 has that. Check my review on my channel. I can confirm later when I get home
So technically Sir, DJI osmo mobile 6 is better than instaflow 360. That I must NOT be hooked by the longer battery(works also like a powerbank) of instaflow.
@@ToasterVentura luckily insta360 got live mode and gesture for android. Somehow can use it while recording video with android native app. At least can get 4k video with 60fps 😁
Wow, Im so glad I ran into this video. I was about to gift these to family. Could you recommend something similar to this? Thanks again for this video.
Thanks! Honestly it's hard to find one for phones that is as compact as the DJI om6 or the insta360 flow. The one I like is the hohem m6 but it is bigger and bulkier
@RidewithJoy1 in my testing which is a while ago, insta360 flow lacks a lot of out of the box functions in their app. I didn’t test osmo mobile 6 so I wouldn’t know
@@ToasterVentura phone overheats up due to intensive hardware use (flow and up where up to date) and using only 1 camera of 2 anyway thanks for your review

100 percent agree the challenge for android open source dev vs apple which is one and done.
My sony experia 1 V native camera supports 60fps & 120fps will it be compatible to use this Gimbal?
@AbJsm I really don’t know because it seems to be case by case basis for android.
Thanks buddy you might as well give it a try! It’s not that bad of a learning curve!
Yes the issues exist but I've not had the vibration problem. The tilt is limited but holding it out sideways it'll use the rotate axis so you can still use it for full range.
I'm very happy with mine using it with my iphone12pm.
Hey there, i also have a iphone 12 (pro) and i'm looking into buying the insta 360 flow. Are there any cons i should know about?
@sheenpeen8697 when I had this gimbal I didn’t roll with apple yet so I am not 100% sure but tbh I think IOS apps are usually well developed. Other than image stabilization I would say everything else I thought was negative in my video applies to all phones
@@ToasterVentura thankyou for the response!
Sorry to hear that man. I just returned mine as well. I should get an iphone at some point for my testing but I ended up ordering the pixel fold lol 😂
Thank you for helping me dodge a bullet! I was just about to purchase the Insta360 for my Pixel 7; now I will wait for a future version. Muchas gracias!
Awesome!
I am glad I was able to help. I hope they update the software so it works well with Android too!
@@ToasterVentura I also hope so !
Any recommendations for gimbals that are best compatible with android?

NNNOOOOOOOOOO....I just bought the insta360 flow last night and I'm using a pixel 8 PRO. Wish I'd seen this video first! Thank you for keeping it real!
Give it a try maybe just maybe they updated the software for your phone to be more compatible
Thanks for your honest review! I lost trust for a lot of big youtubers when this came out. I almost bought it until I saw a few videos from real world people like you.
Thanks man! I probably never get free product from those guys ever again lol but I gotta be real
what gimble would you recommend for samsung users?
I think it is like that old joke;
"put it back in the box and take it back to the shop and tell them you're too stupid to own a camera"
thank you, i really like insta 360 x3 but at the moment I wanted to find something to use with my phone, I gotta samsung a55 so if the app creates microjitters i am concerned, thanks about your point of view
@@ToasterVentura thank you for your quick reply and the information. Why did you switch to iPhone now?
@MoniqueOnAMission I feel a bit like a sell out but mainly 1. Camera performance and video quality is very good 2. UsbC makes the iPhone 15 pro max much more usable for media management and filming 3. Accessories such as the Apple Watch ultra 2 and AirTags are great for my use cases.
Honestly the user experience in my fold 3 is much better than the iPhone stupid swipe functions.
@@ToasterVentura now I am even more confused 😂😂😂 The most important thing is a good camera for my amateur videos 😉 What would be your advice?
@MoniqueOnAMission hahaha sorry my friend that’s my first world problem right there. Ok that depends are you an android person or Apple person. You can’t go wrong with the Galaxy s23 ultra, pixel 8 pro or iPhone 15 pro for photos and videos. It depends on your preferences and ecosystem that you have bought into. I want professional grade video from a phone which is why I went with IPhone 15 pro because it can shoot in apple log at super high bit rate. 99 percent of people don’t need that function
i have an iphone but i like how these are honest review. in your opinion would you go the dji osmo 6 over this?
Actually if u have iPhone I think it works well with the flow. It's android that had compatibility issues.
Hello. Great vid. Does the shaking of the image still persist now? I wanted to buy one, I use a phone with android... want to have a clear and stable image, of course :)
I wouldn’t be able to tell you but from some of the recent comments on this video, camera stabilization is still not fixed
@@ToasterVentura got it, thanks a lot!
please tell me which gimble to buy for Pixel 7 phone (Budget : in India around less than 20k Rupees )
Hi Sir which is Better in Durablity Dji Om6 or is this?
but it's probably the most android friendly gimbal out there, the others apps aren't compatible
I hope it had gotten better especially for Google pixel and Samsung
Ok, I literally bought this today! I haven’t opened it yet. I bought it to track my movements when doing my crafting live videos. What do you recommend instead? I just want something to track me from one point to the next. Literally only moving a few feet at a time. Not using it as a gimble.
Ok if you are just using this as a tracker then this will work just fine. A lot of my points are based on stabilization and software compatibility issues with built in camera stabilization. Tracking was fine for me
6 months later lets hope they updated! I just got mine today for the self tracking for some cool b-roll etc with the tracking.
I just picked up the osmo pocket 3 and honestly the tracking is so good and has one inch sensor. I recommend that
@@ToasterVentura looks good, only $400 more than the insta360 flow + already owned camera however. Maybe in the future, thanks for the suggestion.
Yes I agree! Oh rumors have it that a new pro version is coming out soon! Maybe I will buy one and test it
Thank you for this. I purchased OM6, will be returning it & was going yo get the instaflow 360 instead. S24+ user here!

Rock On!

@@ToasterVentura Thank you for the response. Right now I'll take a dumb gimbal over a paperweight.

Thanks for great video! Appreciated your honest opinion, it answered my doubts about the Insta 360 Gimbal for android! I was trying to find out the drawbacks but it's difficult to find out. 👍
Glad it was helpful! I hope they come out with a patch to fix the issues
@@ToasterVentura Actually decided on Hohem M6 in the end - a demonstration showing the absolute failure of the Insta 360 to do a proper up/down tilt was the deciding factor!
@@KittyVentura Nice I love my M6! Did you see my review on the M6 and the new MT2?
Well after your review on this, which gimbal in the same price bracket would you recommend? Im using s23 ultra
Good point, and I didn’t keep the gimbal long enough to find out about the longevity of the joystick. I am glad you surfaced this point!!
Thanks for the quick reply
Thanks for the support!!!
@@ToasterVentura thanks for the reply! more power
you are totally right in all, bad I see to late now your video, because already have one week the insta 360 and find all this out too, and I am so dissapointed with the flow, so bad that in android works likes a beta test
Can you still return the gimbal?
Even that the AI tracking is now working with all apps...but maybe everyone using Android should get the Hohem isteady M6 with an external AI Sensor (+light) to use whatever camera app they want to including all features of the gimbal...plus its way less janky and limited
I been curious about Dji cus the Dji osmo pocket 3 gimbal tracking is very good. I wonder if they can make it work better on their phone gimbals
You sir earned a subscriber
What would you say is the best gimble for video quality?
It’s hard to say for android phones but I would lean towards Hohem m6 or Dji om6 however there is. I guarantee their program works with android.
I just wanna know what’s a better AI Tracking Gimbal that you would recommend???
Was a big disappointment for me when my OnePlus9 Pro, which shoots 4k120 was limited to 4k30 and still no firmware/software update to make use of capable android phones so I mostly use it as a "dumb" gimbal now.
Yeah dude I know. And I know it can get better with firmware update but still as a software company it is taking longer than I want
As an Android user, this is an important issue. I almost decided to buy insta flow just now, after watching this I changed to dji. Thanks !
@Iron84 that is correct man. Apple is always iOS vs android has so many version of builds
@@Iron84 I get it now, I didn't know, thanks.
Absurd…
I went over to iPhone 15 pro max as well recently but I don’t think I will rebuy this version. Maybe v2 if anything
Which Gimbal do you recommend for the galaxy Ultra? Been searching for one thats compatible
I think Hohem and Dji gimbals are a safe choice. Check out my Hohem gimbal reviews
Just bought the Insta360 for my Pixel 8 Pro. And you are right: Insta360 is for Iphones! The Insta app do not recognize the 3 cameras on my phone. There is only 1x.
After so long I am hoping they fixed this already… hopefully next iteration man
I'm an insta 360 X2 user paired with my Android phone, haven't had any issues with my 360 cam, was excited about the flow and was thinking about buying one.
Like you say - it seems like the app is not using the phone stabilization or something,
Tracking is the main reason I got this - need to use the app for that.

Thanks buddy for the support! I say check out Hohem m6 for a good stable gimbal! Thanks for the sub!
I know this might sound ridiculous, but I brought the flow for one reason, and one reason only and that was to make 360° photos to use in VR. I have use some of the other features but mostly it’s been the 360 photos for me. The other features are just nice. So I understand how you feel but this does what I wanted it to do.
Yeah I wanted to try the 360 photo too and my phone was too heavy for it. But definitely a cool feature that insta does really well!
@@ToasterVentura am I right in assuming that this was the cheapest way to get 360° photos? I don’t think there’s any other gimbal that will do it. And I didn’t have enough money to buy an Insta camera.
I got mine also for 360 . On iPhone it’s awesome . I have not tested on my S21 ultra .
Hi. Would this be a good gimbal to use with a Samsung S21 Ultre?
I don’t know since I don’t have this gimbal anymore and I don’t have s21 either. I would check their site and see if they updated the compatibility list to support specific functions
what gimbal would you recommend that doesnt have such android problems but is similar to this? Im using a samsung s23 ultra
Dji stuff is pretty solid and relatively similar form factor
Ive tried so many gimbals and have not been happy with any of them. Either glitchy, app sucking and being super slow to process.

Has the tilt been fixed in the new Flow Pro version?
I am not sure, need to buy one to test it
Im using dji0m6 ,there's shaky bumpy too in a full extended using Dj mimo
yeah its physics and no way around it
Thank you, I almost fell for it but glad I purchased the DJI Osmo mobile SE.
How’s the SE man
works as expected with longer battery life than my previous Osmo4, was tempted with the extender and some other features of the Osmo6 but the battery got the nod.@@ToasterVentura
Can you return it if it’s no good for you? Have fun in Japan!!!!!!
I can do 4k 60 with my Pixel 6 Pro. That may be a Samsung specific limitation, not necessarily Android.
I'm a huge Galaxy guy. But I am seriously starting to consider the new iPhone.
I have the iPhone 15 pro max and it’s okay only. I must say all the apps and eco system does work wayyyyy better than Android in many ways. Especially gimbal apps
@@ToasterVentura Exactly. I mostly want it for the superior low light video
I am going to buy pixel 8 with it should I buy insta 360 flow or dji osmo 6/5? I am totally newbie to gimbal
Hmm I say osmo will have better compatibility with android. I am not sure if insta updated their firmware to better support android since it’s been a few months since I sold the flow
I also buy it because all ytbr are hyping and your all points are valid also there are many feature missing in the android.
Can this gimbal be used with the native camera app on most Android phones?
Thanks in advance
Yes but you lose the smart tracking capabilities
@@ToasterVentura thanks
@supergeodotca no worries! Consider subscribing to support my small channel!!
@@ToasterVentura done, thanks
I want to thank you in advance for the excellent honesty shown and I was quite convincing and I will wait for an update to see if it has the confident improvements that make me buy thanks and continuations of excellent videos hug friend
Thanks buddy I really appreciate this man! Maybe generation two will be better!!!
Works perfectly with my Samsung S23 ultra ??
Did you see if the video has vibration using the insta app vs native app? Compare it on a big screen
Maybe they updated the app since I posted the video? If so that's great news
You basically have to do two sets of gestures which is not the most convenient
good evening, I would like to know if the dji om6 is much better for the samsung s23 ultra then?
thanks for the video it's great
Thanks for watching. I don’t have an OM6 or s23 so I can’t really test that right now but maybe in the near future
you can also use other apps on your phone?
Yes I can, but the object tracking is via the insta360 app. Using your native phone app will not have tracking then you might as well just use any older regeneration cheap phone gimbal at that point
Best Video on internet about Insta Flow... Keep it up mate....
Thanks buddy! Really appreciate your support! Please consider subscribing!
Thankyou so much for the honesty, i was sbout to order it today 😂. I will better wait for the updated version
Glad it worked out!
A sub to your channel . I was so confused between the insta and the DJ osmo 6 .. guess I will go with the DJ ? ❤❤
SUBSCRIBED because your HONESTY is absolutely valuable and outstanding.
Oh thanks buddy I really appreciate the love bro
DJI OM 6 does not compatible to Samsung S24 Ultra either.
Good to know man I guess we can download the gimbal app and see how it performs with the camera before we buy the gimbal
Thank you for saving me a brutal experience. I thought S23 Ultra would work well with Flow. Android users always get the short end of the stick it seems.
Glad you found my video helpful. I can’t guaranteed if they didn’t improve the firmware for android since it’s been a few months already
Thank you
I thought mine was not working properly
But it is very inconsistent thing
i only record at 640x480.. it's been good enough since I grew up with 320x200 resolutions
I see, can’t help but feel like Google, meta TikTok is basically doing the same thing… I have no basis to this of course just a hunch
The insta 360 app only does about a 35,000kb bitrate in 4k30 ... my ultra 22 will do up to 90,000kb's
Wt abt s24 ultra
Did you notice that the 360 flow makes a motor sound when you’re filming in a very quiet environment?
No mine was quiet. Make sure your gimbal is balanced correctly you maybe experiencing oscillation
im using s22 ultra and on the insta360 app only allows 30fps on 4k and 1080p, im very disappointed.
Yeah exactly my point. Why cap the function you know!
All the gimbal reviews I've watched state that the widely available gimbals don't fully support Android. I wonder which one does.
It’s so hard to find a gimbal that works for “all” android. I will make a video to help you evaluate a gimbal before buying it!
@ToasterVentura Thanks a lot. I can't wait to see that video. By the way, I'm using the S23 Ultra.
Is it possible to use an external mic and charge my phone at the same time?
If you find a wireless mic that has usbc pass through then yes. I think the Hohem wireless Mic 01 has that. Check my review on my channel. I can confirm later when I get home
@@ToasterVentura thanks dude! So dji mic should also work? So it should be possible to connect two devices like mic + power (accu)
Let me test now, I think your challenge will be balancing the phone on the gimbal
Ok just tested on iPhone 15 pro max. Dji mic 1 does not support charging pass through. It only charges the receiver not the phone
@@ToasterVentura so you have to decide either charge the phone or use a mic?
So technically Sir, DJI osmo mobile 6 is better than instaflow 360. That I must NOT be hooked by the longer battery(works also like a powerbank) of instaflow.
It’s not the main selling point correct
It's kinda upset, im using android as well. Hmmm. Really frustrated.. In apps camera are worse then native apps. Im using honor magic 5 pro. 😢
Yeah android is tough because of so many os version. iOS is much more stable and easier to develop for.
@@ToasterVentura luckily insta360 got live mode and gesture for android. Somehow can use it while recording video with android native app. At least can get 4k video with 60fps 😁
@zubairtsaqif ah nice workaround hahaha
Very informative for android user...pls give a review for dji osmo mobile 6 with android phone
No budget right now for om6 lol I just bought a new truck
@@ToasterVentura Being a Galaxy S21 user I am little confuse which one is better choice Dji om6 or insta.
@RidewithJoy1 in my testing which is a while ago, insta360 flow lacks a lot of out of the box functions in their app. I didn’t test osmo mobile 6 so I wouldn’t know
Thanks for doing this video.
All the videos I see show iPhone and not android.
Thanks glad I am not alone in the droid world.
Thank you for being an Android user in an iphone tech world!! 🙌👏
Awesome I got both now! Actually gonna do testing on Samsung, Google and apple to be more comprehensive
Any feedback for the Insta360 with Samsung S23 Ultra guys? Planning to buy this... but I stumbled upon this video. Now i'm scared.
Did you buy it? What are your thoughts today?
Thanks
pixel 5a5g heats up in case of tracking enables, flow is useless for androids even top ones will have limited support, returned the item
Good to know, did the phone heat up or the gimbal heat up?
@@ToasterVentura phone overheats up due to intensive hardware use (flow and up where up to date) and using only 1 camera of 2 anyway thanks for your review
What is the Samsung PHOTO App? Can't find it on playstore
You won’t find it cus it’s the native camera app that comes with all Samsung phones. What phone you got?
@@ToasterVentura Samsung A52S
@joyindeeamornchai754 yeah that’s just the normal camera app
I subscribed because you made damn good video
Thanks buddy this means a lot to me man
