Peonies are absolutely beautiful. We had one of the magenta plants in our garden when I was growing up and I loved it. I always wished that I had tried to take it with me when we sold the house but I know very little about gardening and didn’t know if it would survive, so I decided to leave it. Sending best wishes from Scotland, UK
Charlotte, your peonies are gorgeous, they are my second born daughter’s favourite flower, she had the beautiful pale blush pink peonies in her wedding bouquet…

We have lots of Golden-crowned Sparrows wintering here in southern Oregon - lots in my yard! Fun info - they are very nearly neatly most completely vegetarian! Check it out - their poos are mostly green!
than you Charlotte , what a beautiful Peony garden , I never knew you couls mae am from the petals , , awesome tour and great information, Merry Christmas to you and the family , I hope you have a wonderful time , God Bless you all ,
I have loved peonies since I was a child. I would see ants running around the flower when I leaned over to sniff it. I recently saw all the seasons of your Alaska series and I’m laughing about how many times you got mad at Otto for being a guy and doing risky things! 😂❤
I had no idea you grew all these peonies. My mother would love to sit and talk about them with you. Ours/hers have been doing something weird the last few years where they do not die back to the ground but set new buds and keep a green stem about 8-12" tall all winter. I have no idea why some, not all of them, started doing this. Last winter was exceptionally cold for here In Virginia and those plants did fine this year. mom has about 40-50 of the plants scattered around the yard.
@@otto_kilcher I had been cutting the flowers back when the stems wilted, normally in late November but they have not died back to the ground the last few years. It is December 14th today and the ground still has not frozen yet. I have unopened buds for next year on them already. I figure it will self correct if it gets too cold for them, but I might lose a plant or two in the process.
Wow, Charlotte, I love all of your peonies and think that is amazing that you can grow all of this in Alaska. Have you tried any of the Itoh/Intersectional peonies>
